Paul and the staff here know how to do customer service. I was looking for a specific bolt that no one had in stock. Paul spent several minutes researching to find the right one. When he found it, he encouraged me to order it directly from the manufacturer. I appreciate his time, knowledge, and customer-first attitude. These guys know bolts better than anyone else in SF!

This place has saved me numerous times. Every time something comes up and I need some obscure piece of hardware to keep my construction schedule on track this is the only place that has what I'm looking for. I'll call seven different specialty hardware stores and none of them ever have what I need except for this place. They are now my go to for obscure hardware

Want to get SCREWED? Go to a different store, this shop is awesome! I was looking for metric M6 and M8 screws to mount my new TV in my apartment. Most stores didn't have any metric screws in stock, but this place had every type you could imagine. The staff was extremely friendly, and didn't even charge me a dollar for the few screws I needed.
They just gave them for free. I've never had such a good experience at a hardware store, definitely recommend and will comeback if I need hardware supplies again. Thank you Harrison & Bonini.

This place should be a San Francisco institution. It has all your tools and hardware and staffed by the most knowledgeable guys ever. So if you can avoid going to Lowe's and Home Depot, you should go here and center hardware - both my absolute favorites. $15 min but that's easy to do if you see the files, drivers, bits and bobs. Shop small and keep San Francisco small businesses local!

If you need it they got it. Most hardware stores only carry items for construction or home projects. If you're a tinkers, machinist, at home mechanic or diy'er this place will have the fastener or tool that you need locally vs having to order on line. Thus the reason they are pretty busy. I recommend calling them to do check on the quantity they have on stock and putting it aside for will call. Parking can suck but hey you're in the "city".

I only wish I found this place sooner! I own a vintage furniture store and have often found myself driving to every hardware store in the city to find odd and unusual furniture hardware pieces (thanks Skandinavia!) or random pieces to fix our aging security gate, but never again! These guys were so helpful today, really knew their stuff, and had the pieces that I needed in stock that two other big hardware stores didnt have. Shout out to Discount Builders for sending me the way of Harrison and Bonini! I want to sing their praises from the rooftops!

Huge inventory is tucked away behind the counters of this specialty hardware shop. The staff was incredibly helpful and did not patronize me as I wandered in practically clueless. They took the time to help me pry out a bolt stuck in a barrel nut, re-thread the nut, and find me replacements. They typically serve the professional segment -- to my left and right were building / hardware professionals fetching all sorts of odd-looking screws / bolts / pieces.

After several months of frustration, I finally got my license plate from the DMV for my motorcycle but found myself short of hardware -- and, having lost a bolt that holds on a turn signal in July, decided I really needed to make a stop. The nice man at Harrison & Bonini totally set me up with the right size fasteners and I was able to get everything sorted. He even gave me a special price for the three bolts and nuts! Woo hoo! Super friendly and nice -- I'll definitely make sure to visit them again in the future.

Screws, fasteners and small tools for tradesfolk are their game. You better bring your game too, and know what you want, there is zero handholding at this place. It's closer to SoMa and FiDi than Center Hardware. I gots me some gel blue loctite and breathable ez on/off half latex coated gloves (and no it was not for the Folsom Street festival right around the corner) TIP, bring a business card to smack down on the counter whilst they enter you in the (tandy) computer, lest them not think you're a non-trades plebeian
