Support starts with a joint effort with the customer to develop specifications so that the right expansion joint is produced for the application.
The structural gas ply is the outermost layer of the expansion joint belt (Flexible Element). It is 100% nonporous, features a high tensil strength, and allows movement in all directions. The structural gas ply is designed to withstand the system temperature and be resistant to chemical attack from inside and out.
The flexible element is the most active component of the expansion joint. It contains the gas seal and must be 100% non-permeable, and allow movement in all directions. The flexible element's Structural Gas Ply must also be designed to withstand the system temperature and pressure and be chemically compatible.
