AVOID at all cost. By far the worst customer service ive ever encountered. My order was over $10k. The folks at the contractor desk are rude and pretty bad in other ways. They left multiple things out of my order, ordered multiple wrong things, etc. Everybody is human and makes mistakes but getting it sorted out and my refunds was beyond a hassle.
They pretty much refuse to take anything back even when its their fault and still new in the box. The few things I was able to get them to take back, they wanted to charge me 25% restocking fees even though it was their mistake and error (they even admitted it was)! It took me multiple trips and phone calls to get refunded on the things they left out.
On top of all of this and all their mistakes, I never once got a "sorry about that" or anything. All I got was rude attitudes, rolling eyes, and unprofessional comments. These people clearly do not understand that we are there customers and without us they would not have a job. The only reason I went here was because my builder recommended based on their prices.
Their prices are decent but really not any different then home depot or lowes so no reason to go here given the extra headaches you will get from their staff. I will never go here again and my builder is also fed up with their customer service and will no longer be recommending this place or going there himself. they are losing a lot of potential business, not smart on their part.

I know the family there great bunch of people. Andy is one of the best people you'll ever meet and the owners Laura and Brian are just as great ready to help you with any questions you may have they may be more a little expensive but I'm telling you the service alone speaks for itself. And Brenda I'll never forget you either. You always saw the good in me and helped me thru hard times God bless you all.

Great service, products, and prices. We completed our DIY 400 square foot composite deck, and Hackmann was fantastic, especially Catrinia. She spent a lot of time to help us throughout the project. Going into this project, we assumed the big box stores would have better prices. NOT SO. Hackmann has better prices AND better variety in a product line. I was pleasantly surprised. About the only knock on them is the need to inspect the material right away upon delivery. Just make sure it is part of your plan.

We recently rebuilt our deck with composit boards. Hackmann's lumber was extremely helpful with this process and we believe the prices were competitive. The big difference was the help and advice we got from them this stopped us from making mistakes. The big box stores we found out quickly your on your own.

Let me start off by saying that if I could give zero stars on this review then I would. With that being said, while I appreciate Hackmann Lumber being the cheapest supplier in the StL area when it comes to decking materials and the like I will follow that up with nothing but disdain towards this company as they don't give two licks of a sheet about customer service/satisfaction.
I have never come across a company that has such a problem with communication. A simple email or phone call goes a long ways when customers are waiting on orders to be filled and delivered. I have purchased a lot of materials over the last two years with this company, and not once have they ever been proactive about reaching out to me about messing up my orders or just giving me an update.
I always have to reach out to them, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get information. They lady that answers the phone every time always seems to have an attitude problem. The store manager could care less about making matters right when they are in the wrong. Truly disappointed in this place. If you care about customer service/satisfaction then pay the premium and go elsewhere with your business.
