Our Custom Mill Shop is capable of reproducing your unique moldings that your project requires. We have molder knives in stock to match to your projects while still working within your budget or we can custom cut them for that perfect match. We specialize in custom glue ups ranging from stair treads to large table tops and everything in between.
All of our flooring is kiln dried, tongue and groove, planed, and have back relievers for stability. Our flooring is ready to be installed and requires minimum finish work. Our flooring does not come end matched, so it allows the installer to be able to trim down the boards. People often ask me why I buy rough lumber. The reason is the beauty and variety available. I jointed and planed some Spanish Cedar this morning for a project, beautiful wood that I bought for a fair price at Ghent. For choices, quality, and helpful people out in the yard and in the office I like Ghent.

Have been a customer for a long time, spending about $1000 a month on cherry, poplar, maple and mahogany. Went there yesterday to buy 4/4 mahogany but did not have enough so went with some 10/4 to cut down and plane to dimension, problem was the tally of the wood for payment - I noticed I was being charged for 8" boards when they were 7 1/4, 7 1/2 etc.

I was told that is policy I was purchasing rough sawn lumber, where it is often 1/4" or more wider on one end or there are major chunks of the board unusable on edges from shipping or whatever. Common practice anywhere else that sells rough sawn lumber is to charge for a 7" board even if it is 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 inch wider on one end, the other end may be narrower or parts of an edge unusable.

This is not finished lumber, it is rough sawn. Ghent lumber charges you for 8" even though you are buying much less. Initially, I wanted to put the lumber back but then they said they would average it rounding up or down at the 1/2" interval so needing the lumber agreed. When I got home though and started to measure what I had bought I found that there were boards where one end could be rounded up to 8" but the other end should be rounded down.

My overpayment I estimate for the purchase was roughly $150. I do not wish to purchase lumber this way, would prefer to go to a mill that charges for 7" when it is fractionally over so I will not be returning to Ghent lumber. Additionally I can no longer recommend them as the office staff was unwilling to find the manager and instead relied on the ruling of the yard boy as the final authority

Very organized, staff are very professional, the wood is top quality, and very fair prices. Always a great pleasure seeing the office girls. Yard manager Art is very knowledgeable and helpful. Ghent Wood Products is the best place to get your rough sawn lumber, live edge slabs, and they are every carrying log rounds now. 11 out of 10!

Good place for serious Woodworkers to buy hardwoods. Service and accommodation is amazing. They respect Woodworkers rather than treating them like a nuisance.

Great place to get lumber with no middle man. Staff was amazing in helping and finding what we were looking for. Will go there before even thinking of the big box stores. Quality was beyond what we were expecting.

Great selection of rough cut lumber in their huge, well stocked lumber yard. I built a wood shed out of it for cheap. They also did a simple glue up of two boards with natural edges for our dining room table. Highly recommend this place.

I don't know what happened to Mr. Waters, but I have used Ghent Wood Products for years and they are terrific. Wide selection of hard to find hardwoods and inexpensive pine and hemlock boards. Friendly staff and competitive pricing.
