My husband and I have been looking for new front doors but wanted high quality and not cookie-cutter doors. We looked at the surrounding businesses in San Diego County and saw General Millwork Supply right in San Marcos where we live. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. We had no idea how much to consider when ordering a door and hardware. We are very appreciative of Wendy's time to make sure everything was perfect before placing our order.
When our contractor took the measurements of our original doors, that we had to replace, it wasn't a standard size and we were all scratching our heads at the original install. Nevertheless, Tom from GMS came out to our home to triple-check measurements and discuss the installation further. They went above and beyond in our opinion and we highly recommend them. We have amazing front doors!

I always come here when I am designing a project. You can see and touch all the options in the showroom. I have had it with Lowes and Home Depot screwing up my orders. Have had more than a lifetime of apologies from them. Also, looking at colors and finished in a catalog or on a monitor just is not an accurate way to go. Right now, I am working on a project 120 miles away.
Even though it is a hassle to have to hook up trailers and haul them the long distance, I know that when I pick up, the order will be exactly as I expected. Ask for Gabe! Not the owner, but you would swear he was.

I recently had a great experience with Juan in the parts department at General Millwork Supply in San Marcos. I live 90 miles from the closest Andersen Window dealer / service provider. Home Depot and Lowes don't count as they don't provide service. Juan was extremely helpful with a door problem I've lived with for 18 years. He talked me through the diagnostics and solutions by phone and e-mail and I was able to resolve the issues personally without a long distance service call.
