I've been coming to J&I for over 30 years: with my dad when I was just a kid, and now as an adult with my own 8-acre plot. Growing up, I mowed lawns for cash with a Honda mower I got at J&I, and now I tend to my property with Stihl saws and trimmers, a Kubota tractor, and a newer version of that same Honda mower - all bought and serviced by the team at J&I.
I've got my eye on a Kubota mini-excavator as my next purchase. This is a true local business owned by folks that grew up and live right here in Olympia. I've never had a bad experience here, and I recommend it to all my friends to meet their power equipment needs. If you need the equipment for serious outdoor work, look no further than J&I.

I live in shelton and travel to olympia for the expertise and customer service we get at this place. The staff are very knowledgeable and I love that they keep record of your purchases it's so helpful when need accessories etc. We have gotten riding mowers weed eaters so many wonderful products even hoses for pressure washers etc they have it all. Far higher in excellence than settling for a small town gouging and rudeness.

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I bought an electric pressure washer. After checkout, Tom invited me to go out back for an orientation on how to use it. It's pretty simple, but hey, where else are you gonna get service like that? It was well worth the small price premium for the Stihl quality, and J&I customer service. Keep it up!

I've been a loyal customer for years, but recently, needed assistance with a piece of equipment I'd purchased from them. Their response was extremely disappointing. Not only were they unable or unwilling to assist in providing advice on the repair and obtaining the replacement part, but they were downright rude. In response, I went to Lincoln Creek Lumber and could not have received better service. They will have a new customer going forward.

The parts guys are always helpful. I purchase a Kubota L3400, zero turn mower, 2 chainsaws and 2 weed whackers from this location. Nice people. Greg Longnecker went out of his way to customize a Kubota RTV 520 for us. They also carry fully electric Stihl string trimmers (I picked one up) in case you want to clean up the yard when it's too cold for a gas trimmer.

My husband and I bought our first tractor from J&I. We had problems with other dealers, and we were incredibly pleased to find J&I. They had the tractor we wanted when others didn't. They were quick, professional, and a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend if you are in the market for a Kubota tractor.

I went there last week for the first time and bought a Stihl power washer. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a question about a particular model and the lady I was talking to said, "I'm not sure what the answer is. You can go right over there and talk to the owner. His name is Randy." Well, Randy had the answer and he spent 45 minutes with me showing me around the place and introducing me to the rest of the staff and the wonderful service department facility and personnel.
I don't need to go anyplace else for my Stihl products. Say, those Kubota tractors looked great too. There must have been hundreds of them. Too bad I can only give them 5 stars. 10 would be more appropriate.

I have to say, J&I certainly can be inconsistent both in terms of sales but definitely in terms of their service department. I purchased my Honda walk behind and my hustler riding mower from them a few years ago and consistently serviced them at J&I. Generally speaking they provide good service but with this last repair I'm fully off purchasing and repairing through them any longer.
I took both mowers there this past February for the winter servicing. The Honda walk behind rear wheels had stopped rolling when pulled backwards and the cost of repair along with the other repairs pushed me to buying a new mower. But, as I explained to them, I was heading out on a trip so I'd use it until my return. The one time I used my Honda I discovered it was no longer self propelled.
They didn't reassemble the drive belt. But I didn't have time to contact them and take care of it and decided I'd do so upon my return. So I called them today as I just returned from my trip on Tuesday. I explained to the service department what had happened. Had to do so a couple of times emphasizing that when I brought the mower in it was self-propelled but when they returned the mower it no longer was self-propelled.
They said since it has been more then thirty days since I brought it in they wouldn't repair it. I re-explained that it was a functional self-propelled mower when they received it, that the suggested repairs had nothing to do with the propulsion system as far as I knew. Nonetheless they held firm on their position that, even though it was functional before they handled it and no longer was self-propelled when they returned it, they were not responsible.
Even talked to a salesman there, Greg, and explained what had happened and why I wouldn't be purchasing any other equipment there and he sided with the service department. As I said, this is the kind of inconsistency regarding sales and service that makes J&I sketchy. It's a shame for certain that they cannot be as customer oriented as most businesses in the area. Guess if you're not an "insider" with this business and the family you're not relevant.

Super great store! They sell all the good brands! Kubota, Honda, Stihl! Like walking into a candy store! Called for a quote on Friday and purchased a brand new Kubota Tractor on Saturday! Got a discount for buying with cash and when they deliver they will spend 45 minutes showing us how to use it! Love this place!

So I was looking for 2 chain saws for my boys at chrismas. I went into a local store by my house and after 20 minutes with no help I left. I emailed J&I with a couple questions and they were very quick to get back to me with recommendations for what would meet my sons needs. When I went into the sore they continued to far exceed my expectations with their knowledge and help. Thank you Lori and Greg

Purchased 3 machines in 8 months. Traded first tractor in to get the third. Still had a payoff with Kubota credit. J and I was supposed to send payoff in to Kubota. They paid it late. And sent the wrong amount because it was late. When applying for vehicle financing it showed up as not paid. When calling the dealer and speaking to (JESSICA) NO NAMES MENTIONED I was told it wasn't there problem and I'd have to pay it. Seriously?
After calling Kubota credit back they ate the cost (due to the dealers f up. Apologized and said have a great day. I want everyone to know this dealer don't give one shit about you or your credit after they make that sale. Period. I will never return. I work too hard to keep my credit in order to have a careless dealer f it up. No thanks. Robert davis

So you can learn a lot about a business not only by how they treat you with success but also in how they fix their mistakes. We all make mistakes. With in an hour after posting my negative review, Greg called me back. He addressed my concerns and personally took charge of the situation. He followed through and was able to get my tractor fixed and back to me in the week as promised. I appreciate his attention to detail and earned my respect back. Thank you Greg

I visited J&I recently because I needed a lawn mower and really didn't want to spend more money at big box retailers with zero customer service. J&I had the same price for Honda mowers as the orange store. Even better, they had great customer service. The staff fueled up, checked the oil and started my mower. They then gave me a full tour of the machine, which was helpful since I haven't needed one in quite a while. I was very happy with the service, and also happy to support a local business.

We've bought everything from J & I, leaf blowers, weed eaters, lawn mowers and chain saws. We've never had a bad experience in all the years we've dealt with them. We feel like they give us the best deal possible, they take the time needed to make sure you have the knowledge and info that you require, service is great and the Longneckers are good people.

I've been in the Lacey / Olympia area since 1992 and J&I has been a trusted business you could go to for help, well that is up until today. Today they wronged me. Today was the last day I did business with J&I. I bought a fan belt for my Cub Cadet mower (about a year ago) which runs the deck blades. Today I finally got around to replacing it.
As luck would have it, it was the wrong belt. I went down to J&I to get it replaced they looked in their computer and couldn't find where they sold the belt under my phone number. They told me they couldn't do a return because of that. I spoke to a manager Chris and he basically told me the same thing. The reasoning is because the belt can be purchased at other places.
You know I get that and I get that many people would take advantage of that situation. Bottom line is this, what other places could I have purchased the belt that would have given me the correct part number and fit? That's why I bought it from J&I because I expected they would have given me the right part. I have bought all my repair parts from J&I so I would have the right stuff with no worry.
After speaking to Chris and being told it couldn't be found in the computer and that's that. What rapidly went through my mind was "really" so I guess the Cub Cadet, Stihl chain saw, leaf blower, and the Honda EU2000 I bought through them must not be listed in the computer either. Because, if I was interested in good customer service I would have looked at the stuff I bought over the years to include things like $8 plus per quart for synthetic hydraulic oil and various other parts and then l would have looked at things like returns.
I believe I have returned one thing in all those years. As a manager I would have weighed the difference and made the command decision to return the belt and issue the correct one. Because that would have been good customer service. But that didn't happen, so in a fit I left Chris the wrong belt, purchased the correct one and left, for the final time.
As a loyal customer and someone who has sent business their way many times over the years, I really feel wronged by them today. My business and my recommendations for them will now go elsewhere.

I own a local underground utility company with multiple Kubota excavators. We have all ways bought from J&I and have had the best customer service with the best prices. They are knowledgable and very helpful in all areas of equipment. We like spending our money local as we are also a local company. I highly recommend J&I for all your heavy equipment needs and parts. Thx J&I never change.

Purchased a tractor and was told tires were ballast. They were not but I will assume responsibility for not checking. Within a year I needed to trade B2320 up for larger 35 plus tractor. Called and got low balled on trade in value. And wanted to give me $500 for brand new land pride brush hog. They also wouldn't give a good deal for the newer tractor. What a joke and they just lost a valued local customers. There are to many local competitors to deal with this service.
