As a green builder, where a tight building envelope and properly install insulation is a MUST. Keith Porter Insulation delivers nothing but the best. His crews are well trained, and their customer service is great. Also, as an energy rater, they certainly make my life easier when I know they are involved with my builder client. We are very grateful recipients of the Ninth District Weatherization program. All of the workman and inspectors [from your company] were well qualified, respectful and courteous.
Services
As a family-owned company with over 40 years of experience, Keith Porter Insulation is proud to provide fiberglass, spray foam, cellulose and Spider insulation installation services to residential and commercial projects throughout northeast Georgia. Additionally, we have experts on staff who are trained by the Building Performance Institute and RESNET certified to offer thorough home energy audits.
More than 90%1 of US homes are estimated to be under-insulated2, which means your home is likely one of them! Adding proper insulation means year-round comfort for your home. It also helps prevent wear and tear on your HVAC equipment, meaning you can save on heating and cooling costs. Keith Porter works with only the best insulation materials on the market, so our customers know they are receiving quality products when they work with us.
If insulation makes you think of dusty, hands-off stuff, it's time to think again. We trust Owens Corning, the #1 most trusted brand of insulation*, for high-performing and safe fiberglass insulation products. Owens Corning has been the leader in insulation since inventing Fiberglas insulation more than 80 years ago.
Many insulated buildings can be poorly sealed or have become poorly sealed with age. One way to enhance the effectiveness of a space's insulation is to seal air leaks with spray foam. Keith Porter works with SWD and other spray foam products. Applied as a liquid, spray foam insulation expands its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice.

This company is in no hurry to help anyone. The representative Chad, acted as if he could care less about a deadline for an inspection for the fireplace through the county inspectors office called a blow test. I told Chad a week before the inspection from the county and he assured me it would be done before. Now me and my family are in a bad situation where we sold our house and can not move into our new construction house until the inspection is done, rendering us homeless in the meantime.

Brian patiently demonstrated the various fireplaces available and informed us how to purchase our ventless fire log set. He came out to the house to make certain the log set would operate properly. Had no issues or delay in receiving the product from the factory. Matthew came out to the house and installed the log set. Is meticulous in how he sets up and teaches you how to operate the remote.

Excellent service, very knowledgeable of their product and they leave you with a clean work space. We are very satisfied with the product and service received. Buy your fireplace from these folks. You can't go wrong. Paul

I am a local Jefferson resident and thought that I would love to give a local business my money. I am refinancing my home to make improvements that will outlive me and will have a spray foam insulation project in my attic as a part of these improvements. The first time I called during business hours, I was directed to a voice-mail system giving only one person in the company directory to leave a message.

I figured she was on the phone so I just hung up. Called again and left a voice-mail. Waited over a week with no return call. So. I called again. Got someone on the line, I'm assuming their front office or receptionist. I told her the reason for my call and she transferred me to someone else. I also told him that I wanted to schedule an appointment for my project.

He clicked on his computer and told me that he would either call me back or have someone else call me back to schedule the appointment. He didn't bother to ask for my name, my number or my email. I get that people are busy. I'm busy. I have a project that I want to pay someone to take care of. I generally am a very understanding and patient person.

I also try to do my research and rarely write reviews. So before I decided to do so, I checked out other reviews for Keith Porter Fireplace and insulation. It seems that not getting back to customers has been an issue with them. So I didn't feel so bad about feeling irritated and disappointed. I read a review, one of the only ones that I found where someone from the company actually replied.

The review was about a shower door install and was a one star review. The response was basically that the company does not do shower installation and that the review must have been left by mistake. After I read that review and response, I went back to their website to check the services that they offer. Surprise, shower door installation. I'm not sure what is going on with this company.

Either they are trying to offer too many services or they have incompetent people working there or both. Whatever the case is, all of the negative reviews that I read about a lack of communication are warranted. Too bad because I really wanted my money to stay in Jefferson.

Great experience! Scheduled my f/p repair and service a few weeks ago. Matthew, the Technician, did a phenomenal job from arriving on schedule to protecting surrounding area, thorough service, problem resolution, rearranging logs more attractively than before and clean up. Very professional. impressive!

Did not seem to be Knowledgeable about installing gas logs. I was given every excuse why they couldn't do it. It could be just not enough workers due to Covid who knows?

Google asked me for a review, so ok. I gave them a 2 star review because after talking with Nick, I thought I would be hearing from him the following week. That didn't happen, and here we are 3 weeks later and still nothing. Maybe when he tossed out the ($1000 minimum) to ward off the smaller job I should have figured it out. I loathe insulation, but I will get it done.

I had a very strange experience with this company. They came out to fix a bad installation of a glass shower door that they installed, the glass door was hitting the glass shower wall. So clearly they did faulty work to begin with. It took several attempts to get them to answer a call or schedule a time to come repair that - at least 4 calls. We also asked that they changed the hardware from silver to black, which they said they could do and provided no price for.

I asked, but they said they'd have to custom order the items so they couldn't tell me for sure. I guess it is my fault for not getting more clarity, turns our they charged $400 for changing out hardware (even though they kept the old silver hardware and I'm sure reused it somewhere else. which I did not give them permission to do, so technically they stole those and charged me for new ones as well).

But the truly strange stuff started after the visit concluded. While they were here in my house, I tried to pay them for the work done. They said someone would contact me later to complete payment. It was a long time, I'd say at least 30+ days before I heard from them again. When I did it was a person I'd never spoken to before from the company wanting to take my card number over the phone.

This is NOT considered a safe way to give your card number (hello identity theft) so I asked repeatedly for an online method to pay. They told me they don't have that option and I'd have to pay over the phone. Eventually they said they could do an online payment, but they'd have to talk to someone else at the office about that. This back and forth continued for MONTHS.

I'd talk to one person who says they don't do online payments. Someone else who says they do and they'd send a link, which never showed up in my inbox. To say this felt fishy and unprofessional would be an understatement. There were a series of calls, voicemails, returned calls, emails. always getting misinformation and never getting an actual, secure link for payment.

I asked if they took Venmo or Zelle over the phone, they didn't know what any of it was. After back and forth for MONTHS, they finally somehow, miraculously got the ability to send an invoice via email and sent me a link to pay direct from Quickbooks. which unfortunately went to my spam folder. They didn't call or leave me a voicemail saying they now have a secure online payment method. Then, they contacted my place of employment to tell them I was past due on a $400 invoice - a place where I am an C-level executive with a 6-figure paycheck. Obviously, this is embarrassing.

But honestly, it's so unprofessional from this company. They're processes were not secure, PCI compliant, or professional. I spent months talking to different people and being totally jerked around, only to eventually be FINALLY sent a secure payment method (after making it clear that I would not be just giving my card number to some random person over the phone), which went to spam and I was never told they even sent it.

They did send it 3 times in a 16 day period, again with no notification it had been sent and it was in spam. If I had known, I would have looked for it and paid immediately. This was months of me asking for this, and after no notification and 16 days they contacted my work. When I emailed them, they replied to tell me I was unprofessional and semi-threatened that they'd contacted my company because "I'm sure they wouldn't want such a high positioned employee being sent to collections." That's a direct quote. Again.

It's been 16 days since they sent a safe payment method to my spam folder, after months of my follow up and calls and emails. That's how they treat their customers. It's threatening, unprofessional, demeaning. I've been kind to every person I've talked to from their company, and treated them with respect. This was absolutely wrong, unethical, and in my opinion illegal. There are laws around collections processes and credit card compliance. I believe this company has violated both. I've reported them to the BBB.

Great price for solid work. The sales rep who gave me the quote really didn't communicate after sending the estimate. I had to contact him multiple times to request the service. Two techs came out. For the first one, I never received a call, the tech just showed up one day. The other called the night before.

We worked with Peter Adams and had a great experience. We ripped out all insulation because we did a complete renovation. They put spray foam in the attic/gables, under the sunroom which had been a deck that was enclosed and completely encapsulated the crawl space with plastic and closed cell What a difference it has made already. They worked around our schedule and everyone we dealt with was great to deal with. We recommend them highly.

The Spider insulation guy showed up at 8am today, a Sunday! He is a very knowledgeable, likeable technician. He answered all my questions and put me at ease about the insulation choices made for this build. I have and will continue to recommend Porter for insulation projects.

Honest Review: New Construction home. Hood was crooked/paint chipped due to installation or new construction after install. Also a wire was pinched not allowing the switch to work. The technicians are AWESOME! The people in the office were very rude and did not want to help. Almost like I was bothering them every time I called. The guy who approves the warranty work was rude as well. Coaching/training needed there. But overall after it was finally finished I am happy. *Honest Review*
