Services
What started as a lawn and landscaping business, initially founded by Bart, Mason and Ronnie, now stands as one of the DFW Metroplexes most respected pool and patio companies serving the community today. In 1988, off-duty firemen, Rick Donoghue and Mike Lindley, began building fences, patio covers and wood decks in their own backyards.
BMR Pool and Patio specializes in patios, outdoor kitchens, decks, arbors, pergolas, hardscapes, fireplaces, and fire pits, just to name a few to enhance every backyard. Our team of designers can customize any project with flagstone, lueder stone, granite, tile, fire bowls, waterfalls, LED lighting and more.
Q- How do I care for my new pool and what are the ongoing maintenance items that need to be done? A- When your water temperature gets below 53 Degrees F, the salt cell runs in the cold water off feature so it does not produce chlorine. A red light will appear and it will stay on while the salt cell is in this mode until the water temperature increases.

We got ignored by the Owner's son, Tyler (I think he is supposed to be a salesman? Idk) After weeeeeks of us trying to get a hold of him to get a quote he answered his phone and said "oh sorrry I've been under a lot of stress and my phone is a little spotty" oh ok. We were willing to drop a lot of money on the project. But thank god we saw how he handles business.
My neighbor recommended him but even my neighbor can't get a hold of him anymore. Talk about sketchy pool companies. Probably should've read their reviews before ever letting them into our home. SMH.

TLTR: Fair, honest, true to their word, excellent work. 5 Stars. I wanted to build the pool as my wife and I were building the new home and went and got a quote from Tyler before I found out the home builder wouldn't allow it. This was March 2021. He said to keep the quote because they would honor it through the end of the year. After we moved in, I reached back out around October 2021, and they were 100% true to their word.
We changed a few things and the price only adjusted based on the changes. I met with Tyler and Donovan (Construction Manager) at my house, and we staked the yard, and they answered any questions. Super easy to work with. Standard permits were acquired, and the dig started in mid-December. I'm not going to detail every step of the way but once the dig started then they continued to roll through each phase of the build and while they were able to move quickly, they also paid attention to detail.
Every contractor who came through was nice and respectful and Donovan made sure they knew what work needed to be done. We had a few delays along the way, but these were weather related and nothing BMR could change. I'm very happy with our new backyard and we were able to have friends and family over for the Memorial Day holiday for food, fun, and frivolity!
Everyone loves the space. Thanks for taking care of my project and making sure everything I needed was handled with care. I have already recommended you to a neighbor and will continue to do so! I hope you guys are around for a long time because I will be calling sometime down the road when we've moved to so land and need a bigger pool built for that space! Thanks again BMR team! I've added a few pictures because I know they always give perspective!

BMR did a great job with a tear down and rebuild of an outdoor kitchen. They had built our original kitchen 15 years ago, and it probably would have stood for another 100 years, but we wanted to change things up and add a cover. Due to the way our space is laid out, we wanted a cover supported on 1 side only, as we didn't want any posts in our patio area.
That meant using steel posts and beams and BMR was the only contractor we met with that gave us confidence that they could do it. They delivered exactly what we wanted! It took WAY longer than planned and there were some contractual issues that could have been handled better, but in the end, we're happy with the results. Our project manager, Ky, was outstanding!
He kept us informed throughout the project and most importantly, he listened. We had deviations between the formal drawings and plans, as it's a little difficult to get things dialed in perfectly until you can see them laid out in the actual space. Ky helped us through all of that. I'd use BMR again, but I would be sure to be much more specific with line item pricing and terms.

BMR Pool & Patio more that exceeded our expectations for our patio. We have a 1950's ranch home and the patio that they built looks like it was built with the house originally, seamless! I am admittedly a tough critic and the attention to detail and the quality of the work even impressed me. A big shout out to Mason who was our on-site supervisor, and who is also the owner. Mason communicated from the start and was easy to contact when needed.
I never had to worry because Mason's attention to detail was at the same level, or even higher than I had for the project. We cannot say enough about our positive experience with BMR and we would highly recommend them for your patio design and build needs.

My pool was finally finished last week. It seemed like a long time of construction and mud, but in this time of shortages and delivery issues, BMR did get it completed. Everyone at BMR beginning with Ryland, Heather, and Mike, and the ownership were considerate and efficient. They did exactly what they promised; they delivered a beautiful pool! I am extremely happy with my second BMR pool.

I rarely, if ever post reviews, but I know when you are choosing to add an expensive addition to your home such as a pool it is helpful to people to see what your experience was. There are plenty of folks in our neighborhood that have gotten pools over the last year or two and I am immensely thankful after hearing horror stories that we chose BMR.
They were, quite simply, and absolutely pleasure to work with from start to finish. It all started with Hunter in the design center who really nailed what we wanted to do both from a design and budget standpoint. There were not a ton of changes to be made. We were informed it would take about 8 total months from signing to when they were done, and they came in under it.
The biggest part of putting in the pool is your actual construction manager, and we are extremely lucky to have had Jeff P. as our guy. Jeff had tremendous customer service throughout, and a ton of integrity. He 100% made sure the job was done correctly and if an issue came up he communicated effectively. Bottom line is we always felt Jeff had our back and best interests at heart.
He treated our pool like it was his pool going in and we were very fortunate to have him. There will certain to be a mistake here or there but BMR always made sure they were corrected in a timely manner. I can't say enough good things about the positive experience we had with BMR and the end result was a pool that we absolutely love. There isn't one thing we would change about it.
The only price of advice I would give everyone is to go with a trusted company that has been in business for decades and BMR has. I would also tell folks to be flexible as sometimes you might want to change things during the process and that could potentially cost more money. We decided for a little more patio once they roped it off, and zoisa grass.
I would plan for about 3% or so from what contract price is. Also realize that a lot of folks are building pools right now so be patient with the process as you are one of many in line to have work done. I feel terribly for a lot of friends that have had awards and contentious times with their pool companies and am very grateful we made the decision to go with BMR. I highly recommend them.

BMR Pools exceeded our expectations! Especially during this current environment, I can say we are more than happy with our new pool and the people who helped make it happen. First and foremost, the consultation and pricing process through BMR was easy and presented no pressure. I requested consultations from five different companies in the DFW area.
The first two companies quoted me $20K higher than BMR and I had to drive to their office with pictures of the backyard and approximate measurements. I had to take off work to do this. Tyler from BMR came to my house on time and was friendly enough to sit down with us for an hour and talk through what we needed in our pool, budgets, the process, and best estimates.
After speaking with Tyler, I already had an inclination that they were the company we rolling with. The next consultation was with a newer company who quoted me $5K less but you get what you pay for. The owner was three hours late to our scheduled meeting and was late due an incorrect color install on one of his pools. He also said with his pipeline it would be close to 7-8 months for project completion.
After that, I told the 5th consultation, with just ok reviews on yelp/google, that I had selected another company. Save your time and sanity, and just call BMR first. If you have done your research, you will understand. Next we went to the BMR office to make our selections for our pool. They have many options but help you in narrowing down by showing prior built pools.
This was especially helpful when deciding on a pebble tech and tile color. I recommend showing up with a color scheme in mind or taking a look at the BMR Instagram for some inspiration. We made our selections and signed the contract during this past summer. We understood the next step was receiving our permit from the town of Oak Point, TX and this could take some time depending on the town's backlog.
We received the permit in early September, and were introduced to our project manager Donovan. He was very friendly, professional, and got us excited about the build process. I'm sure the other project managers are great but you are lucky if you get Donovan. He was always transparent, communicated well with us via text/calls throughout the entire process, and my dogs liked him.
We were never unaware of who was doing what in our backyard. Shortly after the dig started, and the process from that point could not have been easier. There were no nightmare delays and all materials were correct the first-time. My wife and I were new to the pool building process and we learned a lot. Donovan would be over during and after each process to explain and inspect everything was done properly.
Him coming over was additionally helpful, in that one day I decided I wanted to extend the decking further than what was contracted. This was an easy fix and they handled without hesitation. All of their crews were respectful and maintained great work ethic. On the 24th of November the pool was complete. I jumped in my pool for the first time on Thanksgiving. My family and I cannot wait for Summer.

We are so glad we chose BMR to transform our outdoor living space! They ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish, obtained all approvals and permits from our HOA and the city in a very timely manner and completed the project within 2 months, even during the craziness of the holidays! The quality of their work is amazing and their crews were extremely hardworking and meticulous.
We can't say enough good things about our project manager, Donovan- he went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with every element of the patio. He was incredibly responsive and always available to answer questions and provide updates. He even accommodated a few changes for us with no issue at all. Highly recommend BMR for all your pool and patio needs!

Great experience from start to finish. Sam was very helpful and answered all of our questions. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the design and details of our patio. When we signed our contract, Mike took over as our project manager. He was responsive, easy to work with and keep us updated on when workers would be at the house. Those qualities are essential in any construction project. Highly recommend this team for any project and plan to use them in the future.

Just finished our pool and outdoor living with BMR. We couldn't be more thrilled! It is challenging times right now to build a pool and Mason was great at communicating and keeping the project moving. Given Mason's experience he offered great suggestions to make our pool design the best. Thank you BMR and Mason! Services: Design, General construction

We could not be happier with our experience with BMR Pool & Patio. Our designer, Tyler, was understanding of our budget and helped us get the best value for our desires in a pool. We were so impressed with our project manager, KY! He was patient and very communicative about our project. He had things lined up as quickly as he could for us! He even was able to get our pool done way sooner than expected.
He had amazing contractors, and companies he lined up for our construction. We are so happy with the result and cannot wait to continue to enjoy our pool and yard for years to come!

If you are concerned about details, BMR is the way to go. They include the details in your build that you do not even consider, that other pool companies do not plan for nor include. We have watched 3 pools going up in our neighborhood at the same time, 3 different companies, one did not include sod after ripping up the yard, one had subpar pool equipment installed. BMR really took care of us, even after unexpected COVID delays, completed the project before the expected timeline!
There are many pool companies out there, but do your homework! BMR cares about doing their best and having the best people for each part of the job! Thank you, BMR and a big shout out and thank you to our project manager, Ky! He was very responsive and helpful! We appreciate you guys and love our new pool!

Complete time wasters. I called and set an appointment to get an estimate for a covered patio. I planned my day around that appt and the morning of the appt I got a text msg from Huner the morning of the appt (appt was at 2.30pm) saying he couldn't make it because of the rain and wanted to reschedule. I told him I wasn't available the other day he wanted to come out and I preferred he kept the appt.
He said he couldn't because of the rain. The appt was several hours later and was supposed to stop by then but he still didn't want to keep the appt. When the appt time came it had long stopped raining. I will never call BMR again for anything.

I absolutely recommend BMR Pool & Patio. Josh, my salesman, was very responsive to my request for my pool. The quick turnaround time on getting a design and quote was phenomenal. He even did more than one design to show me different options for my backyard. Having someone listen to what you want and implementing that into the design is a big deal and that is exactly what Josh did.
Other local companies designed what they wanted and came in way over my asking budget. Tanner, the superintendent, was very professional and helpful throughout the process. He quickly addressed all my questions either by a phone call, text, or stopping by to talk and was amazing at keeping me informed with updates. He would often stop by to check on the crews and make sure everything was done on time and correctly. The crews were always polite and nice to talk. I would not hesitate to call BRM Pool & Patio if I ever build another pool.

Very disappointing customer service. BMR build my pool end of 2017 and what I can tell is that pre-sale service is ok until they start building the pool. 1)They found an error in the project where they made a mistake in the height of a retaining wall. They said I had to pay for the difference and it was not their responsibility. The difference was not cheap, of course. 2) Due to lack of proper supervision of the construction, they made another big mistake on the shape of the pool when they applied the granite.
They had to put down part of the wall and re-do it. Project was delayed. 3) NO SUPERVISION DURING CONSTRUCTION: Several of the city inspections failed (more than 70%). And it failed for basic things. You expect that the "Supervisor" will do a quality control and check before the city comes, right? Not in this case. This led to another delay. 4) The deck surrounding the pool was not what I asked for. BMR apologized but never solved my problem.
They mentioned they would send somebody to see what could be done, but never came back. 5) At the final stages of the project, I noticed that half of my yard was missing grass. I contacted BMR to see if they could apply the remaining grass. The answer was of course NO. I even told them I could pay for it. They said it was not their responsibility and the contract only had 1 pallet of grass.
I have called and send emails to BMR with no response from the owner who promised me to help me fix the issues. If you are expecting high qualified professionals, great customer service, support during and after construction. DON'T use BMR. Looks like they are just interested in making money not Customer satisfaction.

I can't really comment on their work or product because we can never get them to call us back on inquiries or meet for their scheduled appointments. We stopped by their office to hopefully meet a designer to come up with something for our backyard. None were available so we set up an appointment with a desiger for Dec 10th. On the day before the appointment, we get a call from the office telling us that Jim would not be able to make it due to an emergency and that they would rescheduled for 1000 hrs on Dec 17th.
The appointment time came and gone so we called the office to find out Jim's status and they had no idea what we were talking about. After a brief conversation with the receptionist we asked that a manager call us on Monday, 19 Dec, after 1700 hours to see if we can resolve this. The called but it was at 1530 hours and by the time we called back the office was closed.
We stopped by this morning to set up another appointment and after fidgeting in her computer for a few minutes they had no record of us. We told we appreciated her help and let her know that it is obvious that they do not want to work on our yard for some reason unknown to us. We did everything they asked to include dropping off 2 plats of our yard along with contact information. They never called back. I just hope that their work is better than their customer service.

We had several quotes for our pool and patio. BMR was the best priced (for the same exact pool, equipment, etc. as other pool companies were quoting us). We had a BMR rep come out to our house to discuss plans and get a quote. He was "excited" to be working with us.after he left we never heard from him again. A friend of ours used BMR and was very happy.
When we told our friend how the BMR rep never got back to us (and we were moving on to another pool builder), he told us to call his BMR rep. We did and the experience was night and day. This recommended BMR rep was awesome and I do mean awesome! We had our pool and deck (pavers) built and they did an absolutely beautiful job. They transformed our backyard from a drab, treeless, waste of space to a private oasis. And it was thousands less than their competitors' quotes.

We have several projects in our backyard that need to be done - patio, retaining wall, water feature, etc. - quite a bit of work. We had BMR out to the house to provide an estimate for which we were told they had to have a copy of our home survey to do (and we provided it when he got here). Mason Thane met with my husband to discuss the projects and we never heard from the company again.
After several emails with no response, I look at it as a good thing - if the company is not conscientious enough to provide a promised quote or return an email or phone call, then I have absolutely no faith in their work ethic. I just wished they hadn't wasted OUR time as we could have set up another company to come out during that time slot as we have to take off work to meet with contractors.

I can't say enough nice things about BMR! Amazing design, flawless workmanship, exceptional customer service and just plain friendly folks. We send everyone looking for a pool their way. Would totally build with them again! This review was actually from 2 years ago, not sure why it never posted. BMR has continued to be amazing with warranty work, service, and maintenance.

I am so thankful BMR Pool and Patio never called me back after an onsite consultation. I wasted my time sending over my home survey, showing pictures and descriptions of what I wanted and setup follow-up steps. "T" promised to follow-up with an estimate and was "excited" about our project. I never heard back despite my emails asking for an update.
I am not upset, it was a blessing to not hear back from these guys especially after reading the other reviews and having decided to sell and buy a bigger house with a finished backyard oasis. Thanks BMR!

Working with BMR started off well but then the "project manager" never showed up and it went downhill from there. We started working with them in December and in March they were still trying to obtain a permit from the city (costing us an extra $350). Long story short, I pulled the contract from them and stopped by the city who confirmed no permit is needed. Apparently, the docs that BMR submitted "caused concern". I contacted another well known company and within ONE WEEK our patio is complete and GORGEOUS. By the way, the exact same job was 28% cheaper than what BMR estimated.
