We reduce the solid waste stream and change the way the built environment is renewed by salvaging building materials and distributing them for reuse. Since 1993, architects, contractors, building owners and federal, state, and local governments have relied on TRP to keep reusable and recyclable building materials out of overburdened landfills. When a building is de-constructed (rather than demolished), up to 80 percent of the materials can be salvaged and channeled back into the marketplace through donations and sales at TRP's network of retail outlets.
Services
The flood relief drive, known as Project Valle Verde, was planned and coordinated with the mayors of Tijuana and San Diego, the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, the County Board of Supervisors, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, Waste Management, and the Building Industry Association. Twenty-seven tractor trailers carrying this material crossed the border in an unprecedented demonstration of bi-national cooperation and assistance.
Prior to founding TRP in 1995, Ted was managing partner with an investment banking firm that provided financial services to young technology companies. Now, in addition to guiding TRP's national expansion program, he consults with private companies and government bodies on a variety of demolition and waste diversion projects.
Deconstruction is an environmentally-friendly alternative to demolition. Trained deconstruction crews carefully deconstruct the building to salvage as many of the reusable materials as possible, diverting them from local landfills. Salvaged items typically include doors, windows, cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, framing lumber, roofing materials and flooring.
After a building is deconstructed, the salvaged materials are delivered to one of several TRP regional warehouses, which are open to the public. Here you can find quality used materials and appliances at great prices. By buying used, you save both money and the environment. For up-to-date information on current specials and new items, follow our Oakland warehouse Facebook page.

What a great place! And incredible amount of reused pieces for home repairs etc. Everything from salvage lumber to barely used laundry equipment. Many items are much higher quality than what you can buy at Home Depot or other big stores these days. Somethings may be a little rough around the edges but lots of life left to them

The Re Use People of America is a Non Profit dedicated to keeping great quality building materials and appliances, fixtures, windows and doors etc from entering the landfill. Entire homes are dismantled and then brought to this location! You may find just about everything you might need to build a home or a small DIY project. Brandy the manager is very knowledgeable and keeps everything organized. The entire staff are helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this store.

This place was a GOLD MINE for supplies for our tiny house. Prices were less than at Urban Ore and the ReStore, which was located next door. We got 2 8x5ft windows for $400. They have many, many doors and windows. They had bulk lumber out back, and good cabinetry, too. I will certainly be back.

I had no idea this place existed! I was like a kid at a candy store! I could have saved myself a bunch of money on kitchen cabinets only If I would have known!

ReUse has a HUGE selection of used windows, doors, plumbing (toilets, sinks, bathtubs, fixtures) and appliances (furnaces, water heaters, ovens, ranges, cooktops, microwaves). At least 2 large wearhouses full! The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were not all sorted based on size, which would have sped up my search considerably.

I came specifically looking for a 32" exterior grade door (with window) but at only 1 3/8" thick, not your typical 1 3/4" thick exterior grade door and found one within 20 minutes at a fair price. Very helpful and friendly staff added to the appeal of this fantastic establishment. Quite honestly, it puts Urban Ore in Berkeley to shame. You must come here first! They even have a decent selection of fireplace mantels and surrounds, wood burning stoves as well as your standard gas burning fireplaces. Quite impressive!

This place is great. It's one my my three salvage stops I make when I'm in town hunting for new design items. It's the cheapest place around. Totally worth a stop!

Love this place. Great for large pieces that need to be restored, rescued or reinvented; you can save hundreds of dollars by doing so. Come with your measurements and measuring tape.

If you need it and they have it.you're in luck! Reasonable prices on gently used (recycled) stuff of all kinds. Doors, windows, cabinets, sinks, toilets, tubs, appliances, etc. There are always unexpected surprises too. Think Urban Ore without the high prices and unhelpful nitwits.

Checked their hours and drove all the way here. They decided to close at 3:30pm instead of their usual 6pm. There was no sign but a door partially open. Even before I said anything a staff member yelled "we're closed!"

I was on the hunt for some Douglas fir 4x4s and 4x6s for a heavy woodworking bench I'm making. These guys had so much good stuff to choose from. Everyone was very nice to help. You really just don't know what you'll find here. One guy was sorting ostrich leather that was an old flooring. I also found some 3/4 mahogany flooring that I coulda used all day long. I can't wait to go back to see what else I'll find.

Wow we did several removation projects at our home and we can always count on this place to have what we need or a variance of what we need and better. THey have a HUGE supply and very authentic pieces in a very wide variety of prices and conditions. When you go here, never discard a dusty/dirty item. it can be a gem for your home, and even an investment.

So many wealthy people in the bay area getting rid of perfectly good stuff. ANd its nect to St Vincent and Habitat so a great one stop for thrifting, vintage, buikding supplies and for antiquing lots of stained glass windows, bath/kitchen fixtures, etc. they got modern, antique and everything in between. If you go here see TRANG, She is the BEST attendant they have!

Lots of doors, cabinets, sinks, etc. It's very well organized, but packed kind of tight. You have to know exactly what you're looking for cuz you're not getting much help. It's right next to St Vincent DePaul thrift store and Habitat for Humanity. Don't bother looking for Industrial St, as shown on the map. It doesn't exist.

One other thing, the address is wrong. It's 9235 San Leandro STREET near the Coliseum. It turns into a Boulevard in San Leandro (according to Waze anyways.) Are brand new doors $500? It seemed like their prices were not a bargain.

This place is awesome. I love salvages. They re-purpose perfectly if not higher quality items taken out of old homes you can't buy anymore. Keep up the good work guys!

My new go to store for lumber and misc building supplies. When my husband and I set out to build a chicken coop, we were fainter by the high cost of 2x4s for something that would ultimately live outdoors and attract bird shit. After finding the Reuse guys, we were able to buy 22 2x4s for about $34, making our project much more affordable. The staff is helpful, the selection is great, and the habitat for humanity store next door might have the paint or tile to finish your project without having to leave one parking lot.

Just across the way from Habitat for Humanity's restore. People will naturally compare the two which is probably why this place has higher ratings. They have a LOT of doors and windows here. not nearly as much furniture, hardware and fixtures (as the HFH Restore). I read a lot of DIY / reuse blogs which inspires me to do more and try to be more crafty.

But when I actually got here and thought about the work needed to get a door home, sand it, refinish it and then install it - the thought of all that work overwhelms me. It's sort of like when you get a crush on someone that's no good for you and have an entire relationship with them in your head and decide after 5 minutes it's a bad idea.

I love this place! Think Urban Ore in Berkeley.but without the pretentious bullshit. The best place I've found for salvaged building materials like lumber, windows and doors. Prices are quite reasonable and staff are always friendly and helpful

The Reuse People have great architectural salvage. They deconstruct a lot themselves, and so the stuff in generally in excellent reusable condition. They sell denailed lumber, cabinets, doors, windows, etc. Always my first stop when working with people who want to to the ultimate in green (and save a lot of money too).

I go here and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore next door and the St. Vincent de Paul behind it fairly often -- three bargain hunting places for the price of driving to one! All three have the potential to give you a good bargain, to keep things out of the landfill, and donate to charity all at once. This place has lots of used doors, windows, cabinets, lighting fixtures, bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, and wood.

I got a looks-like-new bathroom light for $7 and a bullet light in good shape for an old track lighting system for 50 cents. If you need cheap and solid cabinets for your garage -- this is the place! Some of the cabinets are nice enough for your kitchen or bathroom, too.

Love the Reuse People! We bought a fixer a bit over 2 years ago, and have come here numerous times, even before they moved into the Oakland location. Fantastic prices, lots of changing selection. They will let you hold items for a day or so before you decide to buy for sure. Also, will hold stuff after you buy to get a truck to haul it all home. They've even helped us load stuff a few times! Prices are great.

We got cabinets in great shape, great quality, for less than the crap fiberboard ones at big box outlets. It's second hand, so the inventory is constantly changing. Sometimes there's nothing there I can imagine growing to love, sometimes, I covet half the warehouse! Good cause, needed service, fantastic prices! Now, that's a hell of a lot better than damn Home Depot!
