Our philosophy is "believable" landscape concepts, a design that's an extension of the tangible feeling of the home. We're not influenced by passing fads but aim for timeless, proven quality. We love clean lines softened by flowering plants with wonderful floral fragrances drifting through the air during the spring and summer months, while striking floral combinations bloom all season long.

You'll work with a dedicated project coordinator to keep your yard's transformation on time and on budget. At Shamrock we can help with your front yard, back yard, patios, retaining wall, sod, edging, outdoor kitchens, and outdoor entertainment areas are just a few services we offer.

The seasonal program offers a solution for our clients who do not have a need for our weekly lawn care maintenance program. We know that the responsibilities of today's property managers are great. With security, budgeting and demanding tenants, time management becomes a major focus. We cannot reduce those problems but can lessen the amount of time you need to spend managing your landscape with our maintenance services.

I almost never write reviews, but I honestly feel obligated to do so if it saves even one person who reads this. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I am very pleased with the end result of my front and backyards, but the process and cost to get there was unimaginable. Steve Sr would draw up a plan, we would agree to it, and EVERY TIME we would need more plants, rocks, you name it.

Not 10% more, or 15% more.often 40-50% more than their initial estimates/quotes. Steve Jr does most of the management on the job, and I am confident that he will destroy the company his father built in short order once he retires which is very sad. The tipping point was near the end of the project (tens of thousands of dollars in and roughly 50% over their quotes) when Steve Jr called me a liar over the phone as I stood in my front yard simply describing to him what I saw.

I decided not to engage with him, and gave his father the opportunity to complete the project with his son in no way involved. He agreed to this, but of course in the final days of work had his son there anyway, and eventually showed his true colors. The last day of work included Steve Sr charging me for an comically large fake rock that I had him keep due to it being nothing like they described, and also charging me to lay the leftover sod that I had already paid for. Paying for both of these was against everything I stand for, but getting these men off my property and ensuring they would never be back was a surprisingly easy decision.

By "these men" I am referring to Steve and Steve, their workers are wonderful men and I have nothing but good things to say about them, especially Jesus. I am writing this nine months after working with Shamrock, and my feelings have not changed. I am currently looking at my flower beds which are completely taken over by weeds and searching for a new landscaping company to maintain the project I paid far too much for.

At the end of the day, money is just money, but the stress and anger that lasted for the duration of this project left me feeling obligated to save others from enduring the same thing. Again, I have probably reviewed less than 5 businesses in my life. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY.

Spotted eastbound on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove on August 24, 2020.classy. If you are that lazy or cheap to not use the proper equipment to transport a load as well as your complete disregard for public safety, then you should not be in the business of serving people.

Contracted Steve and team to rearrange our front of house flower beds with some new plants, remove old plants/weeds, remove mulch and add stones. The initial quote was pretty high but after talking through it and choosing less expensive stone, we were able to come to an agreement. It took a few weeks from the time I sent the deposit to when they were actually able to start, but once they started they were able to finish the project in 2 days. It turned out looking very nice and I'm overall happy about the whole experience

From start to finish Steve and his crew did a great job. They finished my backyard landscaping project exactly as I asked and helped me decide what to plant in other areas. Everything was done quickly and professionally. I'm very happy with the outcome!

Just had an estimate done for paving a small walkway area. Their estimate was more than twice what the other three companies proposed. This is what I get for trying to do business locally. They must think we are all hicks. I wonder if they are kin to Herra the plumbers.

Wow, did I deal with the same Steve mentioned in some of these reviews? I found Steve to be professional all the way. His guys Jesus and Joe did a great job installing a patio behind my old barn using bricks from my elementary school, which was torn down in 1985. The bricks had been in my parents' driveway for 30 years. Steve explained that they couldn't get a perfectly straight design because the bricks weren't all the same size, but the guys did a great job compensating for the irregularities.

I called 3 companies to get estimates: one guy came out and never sent an estimate, another guy sent his estimate about 2 weeks after viewing the job and came in 50% higher than Steve because he isn't local (he's closer to Lombard than Elburn, where Shamrock is located). Steve came out when he said he would and sent me the estimate within a day or two. He did the job he said he would do, when he said he would do it, and it looks great. Two thumbs up.

Initial work done satisfactorily. Steve was pleasant and my yard looked beautiful when completed. Then things went very wrong. The two trees that were planted did not survive the winter. Over $1000 worth of trees. Based on the growths at the base of the trees it appears that the tap roots were damaged. Steve had said that the trees had a one year warranty.

I called him in March of 2018 and at least 6 times since. Each time a promise to "come out to look at them" has ended with a no-show. Calling back would either end with a flimsy excuse or a hang-up. I'm embarrassed I did not do my due-diligence researching this company as I would have found many adverse reviews. This review will be removed upon planting of two replacement trees by the end of October 2018.

They overcharged us for cleaning and then put a lien on our property because we didn't want to pay for what we didn't agree to, they were very rude.

WARNING! Frankly I can't even imagine a worst experience. As they were working on my patio (which they did an ok job on), they totally destroyed my grass in the backyard. Close to 800 sq ft of grass had to be replanted because Steve thought it's ok to drive a Bobcat through my grass repeatedly until there was no grass left. They offered seeds to fix it which means I won't have grass their until next year!

For some reason Steve thought that it was an acceptable solution to the mess they created. They also dumped a bunch of gravel on my driveway, had it sit there for two weeks and then completely ignored my requests to clean my driveway when they finished. I wish I read reviews on Yelp before hiring these amateurs. They lie by claiming they are BBB rated A+.

Actually their accreditation has been suspended due to customers' complaints. Six of complaints have been filed and I'm adding mine to the list as soon as I'm done typing here. The worst customer service ever. BEWARE!

Steve Baer and Shamrock Landscaping did a phenomenal job on your home between the weeding and the edging to planting new ideas and "cleaning" the existing landscaping up to make our home feel Palatial! Thank you Shamrock! We would recommend you to anyone! The pricing was very much in line with other quotes we received and Steve, Jesus and his crew, were not only very polite but explained exactly what they were going to do, stuck to the date they said they were going to begin the work and even gave suggestions about what to do with the exiting landscape.

We were very pleased in the completion of the work itself, they paid attention to detail and they had the right amount of crew to complete the work. We were going to be gone for the day and when we returned everything they said would be completed, was. Great job Shamrock!

Had Shamrock replace a front paver walkway for us. A small job for them, but Steve (owner) provided a quote the day after he visited and once I scheduled they completed the job in 1/2 day. Jesus & Fernando did great work & Steve stopped in on the job and put himself to work too. Had an opportunity to speak with his wife Julie (owner) during scheduling and she was very helpful. Very happy with the finished product and look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

We are so grateful for Shamrock Landscaping services. We have contracted with them for installation of some landscape as well as for seasonal lawn maintenance. Their professionalism and consistency are so appreciated. Our lawn has been so well taken care and we worry about nothing. They don't leave anything undone. If we have anything that needs to be addressed they are flexible and accommodating. We highly recommend Shamrock and encourage you to contact them for a quote for services.

I have been a customer for several months now, most recently for a winterizing service, and it's been an all around positive experience. Let's face up to certain realities, shall we? Once you get to a certain stage in your life and career, who really wants to spend their precious time on the weekends trying to play Bob Villa with yard work?

I know a certainly don't. If this makes me a lazy bastard, then so be it. I will be waving to you mowing in your front yard as I am driving down the block with my golf clubs in the back seat. Really the main factor for me personally, and this is a maxim that holds true for most recurring services I patronize, is that I want things to be handled in such a manor that I do not even have to think about it.

I know the job will be done right and I can concern myself elsewhere. When you think about it, that is really the ultimate compliment you can give a company that performs this type of service. That has been my experience thus far with Shamrock. Pricing was fair, though I did wheel and deal a bit initially, as this is just my nature. They also performed all tasks to my satisfaction and at the scheduled time. They will be among my first phone calls next year when the weather warms back up again.

There workers are wonderful, but dealing with Steve the owner is not pleasant. Customer satisfaction is based on what he decides, try somebody else.

The startling lack of honesty and integrity are what surprised us the most in our dealings with Shamrock Landscaping, specifically the owners Steve and Julie. We engaged Shamrock in the fall of 2015 in a large backyard landscape project with a cost well above $50,000. While there are way too many failures to list here, I will highlight a few. On day one of the project, 10 pallets of material arrived and was placed in my driveway and front yard.

It sat there for more than a month. Also on day 1, a building inspector showed up and informed us that no permits had been applied for, even though we told Shamrock we wanted everything permitted (and even PAID for permits). After the first day, we didn't see them again for a week. During the preparation phase of the project, Shamrock incorrectly removed part of our existing deck that was supposed to stay intact.

When informed of their error, they lied about it, and sent us an invoice for $2,500 for their mistake. Later in the project, they sent us an invoice for $650 for sod that they never delivered. They charged us hundreds of dollars for backyard grading that wasn't done. When Shamrock sent us their final bill, there were still several things that were either done incorrectly, not completed, or not done at all.

We outlined these 7 things to Shamrock in writing and asked that they be resolved or removed from the invoice. Instead of responding to the concerns about quality and completeness of the work they did, after we spent well in excess of $50,000 with them, this is the exact response we received: "The full payment must be received by noon tomorrow at our office.

I will be placing a lien on the home by the end of business tomorrow. Once the lien is secured, it will be handed to our attorney for foreclosure on the lien." Instead of trying to address our concerns as an unhappy customer, they threatened us. I won't ever do business with them again. Shamrock Landscape advertises as 'BBB Accredited', but, according to the Better Business Bureau, they are not. Shamrock also advertises that they have an 'A+ BBB rating', when they actually had a C+ rating at the time they did the work on our property, and BBB has since removed their rating completely and put an alert on their company for falsely advertising their BBB accreditation and rating. Do your homework and check your facts before your hire this company!

Called for a snow removal estimate. Made appointment. After waiting 30 minutes and no show I called the office. Was told they think the guy is sick. I'm like ok then why didn't you cancel his appointments? Was told they would check and let me know. Never heard from them again.
