ASA Builders Supply has many styles of doors, frames, stair parts, and mouldings to choose from. Our wide variety will help meet any decorating style you need for your home. We have our own mill where we build pre-hung units complete with door, hinges, and frames all pre-assembled for ease of installation.
Asa Builders Supply has one of the largest selections of wood mouldings in Southeast Michigan. We also have mouldings in composite materials (MDF) and flexible rubber patterns to match most wood profiles for bending around radius walls and arched openings. We can get special moulding profiles custom made.
Shiplap is milled with a divided groove called a rabbet where the edges join securely together, one on top of the other, leaving a characteristic reveal line between boards. This also gives shiplap its distinctive exterior, with delicate parallel reveals amongst each piece. The rough-hewn design of all natural pine paneling is often used in barns and historic farmhouses.

I have purchased a couple of times from ASA in the past with no problems. The purchase and delivery of the trim for my house was smooth. Called, placed the order, and had it delivered into my garage a few days later. Where I had an issue and thought it would be useful to share a warning was the quality of the trim I bought. This is 1x6 and 1x4 rectangular trim, which came primed. Gouges, scratch marks, cracked primer, overapplied and drooping primer, or a combination of those are on every single piece. Looks to me the primer was thrown on half-effort resulting in uneven and splotchy primer, the pieces were then not given enough time to cure, resulting in cracked primer, and were then thrown, resulting in gouges, scratches, and cracks.
I purchased the same pieces about 2 years ago, and they were near perfect. I understand there is some variability and imperfections in primed finger-joint trim, but having to scrape and rework every piece is unacceptable. This was not a small purchase either (about 20 pieces). Word of caution for everyone.

Worked with ASA on two projects, first was a bathroom vanity. We worked with Leigh, she was fantastic with great recommendations, communication and guidance on budget and quality. They also helped us with some custom closet doors, not an easy job from an application standpoint. The salesperson we worked with, Jim was also fantastic, he was patient and assisted every step of the way on the job. Final product came out beautifully. Highly recommended.

The Shapiro family at ASA Builders Supply and ASA Cabinets are so easy to work with. They know the industry better than anyone and I simply won't trust any other company for cabinets or doors. They have a great selection and offer the best advice around. It's no wonder that this company continues to win award after award throughout the generations since Asa Shapiro founded it many decades ago.

Been going to this place a lot of years. Best prices for trim and doors, period. They can be a little dicky at times, but it's construction so don;t be a punk yeah? These guys know the products, have a great product line and system for getting you out of there in a reasonable time. I think I refer ASA more than any other construction supplier.

Outrageously overpriced, rude, deceptive outfit. Worst experience ever. The owner claimed my cabinet costs alone for a simple 12 foot galley (15 cabinets total) would cost "at least" $15,000. When I said my budget for cabinets was around 9grand, he ended the meeting and said I couldn't afford him and then showed me some crappy builder grade OSB stapled garbage line he said would be about 9grand. but he never even got back with me on a quote as he promised.
I later priced the same shcrock lincabinet line he said would "be over 15 grand" from menards- full plywood and they were eight grand. and I ended up going with an upper line Kraftmaid cherry cabinets/plywood for Seven Grand through lowes. ASA have an absurd outrageous markups on their cabinets. They are rude and apparently only deal with Rich people that blindly throw 20,30+ grand at kitchens and don't care about costs. The experience was all around the worst I have ever had.
