My house was supplied with Owens-Corning Architectural shingles by my roofing contractor a week ago. The driver from Erie Materials was on time by delivering the shingles and all roofing supplies the day before installation-Timely! He was also friendly to talk to. Will recommend Erie Materials to my friends, esp. since they sell only Owens Corning shingles in their shingles line. That is Business Integrity!

If I could leave no stars, I absolutely would. The customer service I received at Erie Materials is absolutely unjustifiable. I reached out to them weeks ago to see if they stocked a very large order I needed for an upcoming install. They had everything available that I needed. and therefor we placed the order. I was back and forth with many employees there, working as quickly as possible, as I was on a very strict timeline.
I was extremely clear when communicating with them. I even went as far as sending them pictures of my check before I mailed it. Never during our conversation did Jeff Meyers mention to me that my order was not secure. He received my check & emailed me this Wednesday (my install was set for Monday) " Check received. When this was quoted on 12/2 we had the stock to fill this order.
As of right now we do not. am working with my supplier and will have an eta for you later today. Best Regards Jeff Myers" Not even an apology! Now, as a business owner I understand this transaction could have gone a variety of ways. Had he indicated to me for any reason my order was not set aside and guaranteed, I would have driven the 3 hours to Albany and hand delivered my check on day 1.
This was never a conversation. They sold my entire order out from underneath me, leaving me scrambling to find it elsewhere in under 6 days. Which is nearly impossible. This wasn't a few boxes of screws. This was 300 cases of exterior stone, nearly $23,000 in material. Why was it not communicated to the warehouse that this material was sold? If it was due to them not receiving payment yet, why was it not communicated to me that my order was not on hold until payment was received?
I have never been more frustrated with a company & will absolutely never be doing business with Erie Materials again. Still, no apology. Unethical way to do business, to say the very least. **In regards to your response to my review. No, it was never explained to me that my order was not secured. In fact, I have not one email indicating anything you mentioned.
Less than a week ago, I have an email stating that the material would be shipped out to me immediately upon receiving my check. Now LIKE I MENTIONED in my review. had anyone indicated to me that my order was not secure until my payment was received. I personally would have driven to any of your locations and hand delivered a check. During my very first conversation with your staff, I made it clear that this was a time sensitive project. Hence the reason I was willing to pay thousands of dollars more than I was quoted locally.
The only reason I went with Erie was due to immediate availability. We see how well that worked out. Do not try to downplay this situation, because I will gladly embarrass your company by posting the screen shots of all of my email correspondence. A sincere apology would have gone a long way with that email Wednesday. That's all.

So I order a metal roof took 9 weeks to get here cause someone didn't put the order but took the customer's money. Then they tell the day of the delivery that noone ordered the roof. First week of June I put the order in here it is the first week of August and its finally here, then to top it off they tell me today day of delivery that there is a cod for screws and rivets. You had 9 weeks to tell me and you decide to tell me right before the material is about to be dropped off.never ever again will I order or refer someone.

Just moved back into the Albany area and was referred by a friend who is a long time customer. Came to the store and was immediately greeted by 2 employees and the manager Randy who introduced himself and gave me his card. My larger order was picked and pulled in no time. I will never go else where for any other material! Thank you!

The people in the warehouse don't care about there jobs nor the customer. Takes 45 mins just to get a few things from the warehouse. Prices keep going up and terrible service. Go to abc in schenectady. Way better service and way more selection of products. If I could give a 0 star o would. Been going there for 10 years and within the last 2 have went way down ho. Sorry people you suck
