McKinnon Materials, Inc.'s founder, Kenneth R. McKinnon, began working with his father, Gordon McKinnon, in the late 1960's in the decorative concrete industry. Ken began a satellite company in the early 1980's that was instrumental in establishing his father's corporation. Since that time, Ken has been successful in developing new formulas for epoxy coatings that are among the best in the industry.
We understand that knowing how to effectively use decorative flooring products is as important as having the right product. That's why we offer a 2 -1/2 to 3 Days, Hands-on Workshop! You're working harder instead of smarter. You know there are easier and better ways but don't have the time or knowledge to sift through the information and find the tricks and shortcuts yourself.
If you have or are having any of the symptoms now or within the last two to 14 days you will not be allowed to attend training without a recent negative test. Tuesday: We will be covering epoxy bonded stone/ Class will conclude during 1st hr of next day. Wednesday: We will be covering McKrete/ Chromastain/ Sealers/ class will conclude during first hour or 2 of following day.

Epoxy and sunlight don't mix no matter what they claim about their products. I live in Colorado and did my 900 sq ft deck and 400 sq ft front porch with the epoxy river rock overlay. It looks great for 1 season and has to be re-coated with more epoxy every year due to UV degredation (not every 2-3 years they claim). It's a very costly, perpetual maintenance nightmare.
Before I purchased my initial order of material I had expressed my concern about freeze thaw cycles resulting in cracks. I was told that the epoxy would be stronger than the ice and it wouldn't be an issue. That couldn't be further from the truth. At the edge of my deck where the water settles and refreezes at night the river rock material has cracked badly and has to be chipped out and replaced.
I wish I had never used this stuff. Now I'm faced with spending about $1500 a year just to maintain it or I can pay thousands to tear it out and replacing it with something lower maintenance.

I've been a customer for years and even moved out of state and had their products shipped to Ohio because the industrial material is better then anything around here. I just ordered from them again after about 2 yrs of being out of the biz but getting back to full production in the countertop industry. They knew my purchase history and still shipped the wrong product which I have NEVER PURCHASED BEFORE. Costing over $500 with shipping and once I got it.
I called to see if it was even something I could use. ITS NOT I even offered to keep the material and reorder the right stuff if they cover shipping. Buster said don't hold my breath because the owner probably would not be willing to work with a customer (ME) and split a little bit of the cost even though it was not my fault I ordered the wrong stuff.
Which I didn't even know they sold or ordered before. If they don't work with me I will never buy a sturring stick from these people. The offers on the table owner. Idk if buster is even notifying you about the matter with his pour people skills.

I called this place and spoke to a girl that told me I needed 14 gallons of Krystal coat based on my square footage. When I got there to pick it up this old man came out of his office and told me that she was wrong and that I needed 25 gallons. After I applied it I still had 10 gallons left and returned it. They charged me a 10% restocking fee. Not only did they do that but I could not drive on my driveway for 10 days as it was still tacky and would leave tire marks. It still leaves slight marks anytime I drive on it. I called to ask about the refund and talked to Buster and he told me "well just don't buy from me again" REALLY

Horrible customer service. Called and got a quote on almost $500 worth of materials. Called them 5mins before they closed to let them know I was pulling in to pick it up. Guy said "we're already closed sorry about your luck" in a grumpy voice and hung up on me. Sorry about yours buster! I'll spend my money elsewhere.
