I can't tell you how disgusted i am with this company! Shame on them! We bought a pair of fleet wood doors from a company in Santa Barbara named Coastal Supply! Coastal ordered the doors the wrong width and there is wind noise and air leakage! Two of the panels need to be replaced which Fleetwood and Coastal have refused to perform! We have reached out to Dale Giboney several times with promises to resolve the problem! THE LAST TIME WE HEARD FROM HIM IS 10/26/2021! When you spend 40k on doors you would expect a company to do the RIGHT thing! SO BUYER BEWARE!

It would be easier to just take a pile of money and burn it. I have dozens of Fleetwood windows and doors in my Los Angeles loft, and all but one of have failed seals and are foggy inside within 5 years of installation. Fleetwood has a so-called lifetime warranty that is literally meant to gaslight their consumers, they will make your dig out old invoices and prove purchase and date of install only then then tell you they only cover the frames and not the glass. Then they will add insult to injury by not even giving you tips or service recommendations if you were willing to pay to repair the units. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

Placed an order through a dealer on 30 July and delivery date was initially week of 18 October, then 9 November, 15 December and last two dates given in February in an email from Fleetwood were expected to be solid. Last "solid" delivery date is 16 March. That's 8 months of delay, what more can I say.

This is my first 1 star review ever on Yelp. I have had many instances that I've almost left them but I struggle with trying to help improve a business vs hurting a business financially. What can I say about this atrocious company? We ordered windows back in august. They have been delayed over and over again. They blame it on COVID delays but be honest up front.

Our house is completely open- cannot live in or close up the house because of these delays. Months and months and months without a primary home for us and our children (and pets) to live in. The regional VP called us and said he would do all he could do to help us. So far, our dates only Got pushed out further. When you pay over 80k for a few windows you expect decent service but it's been awful.

We flip several homes a year & we own design businesses as well as a mortgage company. We have already told several customers who asked us who to use for windows "we cannot advise Fleetwood at all". I hope the company understand how deplorable their service & lack of care is & how much business they are going to lose between us and our contractor never ever being able to recommend this company again.

Update. Spoke to regions VP. Absolutely zero useful info. They advised they would figure something out and give me updates. They delivered a few windows, ones we did not even deem urgent to them and that we ordered separately because we did not need them quickly. Like pulling teeth to get updates and shocker, now my windows are delayed 2 more months.

They won't allow me to cancel. Why not? If the windows are not made why can I not cancel so I can close my Home up that is fully open and that I have to Live in? The worst experience I have had in a long time with a company. They should be out of business with how they treat customers honestly.

Lifetime warranty means nothing unless you know where your doors were purchased and you have documentation. How many people who buy homes receive that info? Insane. And they make their own hardware which means you are at their mercy if you have an issue. Plus not enough service people available. I'm waiting 4-6 weeks to fix my lock which means my home is open to any theif who chooses to walk in

I can honestly say I am disappointed with this company. We ordered a very expensive amount of windows. They have been so delayed we cannot move into our home. We are literally going to be homeless soon as we sold our primary since we were given a timeframe for delivery weeks and weeks ago and our new house is sitting just waiting for windows. We call our rep and it's "so sorry".

We called the warehouse and it was "nothing I can do". They said we would for sure start to get windows by Nov 18th. That came and went and no word. Nothing. I went with them because it was "American made" and they pressed no COVID delays yet failed to mention that parts they need come from Germany so the extra money was pointless. I will update my review if I get a single bit of good customer service from this company.

Excellent customer service. Our custom windows and sliders were installed 2007 and are still in excellent condition, inspite of the severe desert climate we live in.

Repeating from my first review. Customer service, lead by the CEO, Mark McCoy, prides itself on formulating and hiding behind articulate, professional-sounding excuses. They are not interested in taking care of their customers nor living up to any of their stated core beliefs. The following are my responses (indicated by ***) to Mark M's reply (indicated with " ") to my first review. "my Customer Service team alerted me to your concerns in a final effort to satisfy you.

We endeavor to make every customer happy, even if requests are difficult to fulfill." *** There is no evidence that Fleetwood made any effort to make me happy. "The Federal Government established standards by which quality can be measured and judged acceptable or unacceptable." *** I did not buy the door from the Federal Government. I purchased the door from Fleetwood via an authorized dealer.

The same Fleetwood Windows and Doors that, on its website, proclaims to care about the "little things". The same Fleetwood that hides behind an interpretation of a defect. The same Fleetwood that ships a less than perfect product. One that did not pass the 'little things' test. The same Fleetwood that does not care. ***To the best of my knowledge, ASTM is not a government agency, but an independent, members-only, organization. Members include 'producers' like Fleetwood who take part in the creation of the standards. "Fleetwood is the only window manufacturer in the country with 2-times tighter standards than the ASTM criteria.5' vs 10'.

In the example above, we would replace the glass because the defect is seen at 5'. In your home though, the 'defect criteria' is a few inches and viewing at peculiar angles, which ASTM deems unreasonable and we agree." ***The defect is seen from 5' - probably from 10' - and it does not need a "peculiar viewing angle". Standing in front of the door is all it takes. "I hope you will look beyond the imperfection and enjoy your beautiful home." *** Thank you for the compliment to my home but, to the best of my knowledge, you have never visited my home. This sounds as genuine as the rest of the company's responses and promises.

Received a factory defective door. Been going back and forth with our dealer and Fleetwood for weeks now. Even though Fleetwood's own service team reported the issue as a manufacturing problem and not fixable, they still refuse to change the door. Our dealer has been very helpful in trying to resolve the issue but Fleetwood refuses to budge. They are more interested in blaming third party suppliers and installers than standing behind their product.

I spent $100,000 on windows and pocket doors for my house. It's been impossible to have them service an inoperable window. They send me to the dealer who sends me to Fleetwood. No one makes the effort to help. Before buying a Fleetwood product you better pray you don't have issues or need warranty repairs.

Having your licensed contractor, installer and sales representative on the same page is the key to success! Absolutely spectacular job. Started with my contractor Rich at Construction Management of San Diego that recommended Chris & Byron at Doors Ect. Rich reviewed the scope of the project and reviewed the site with Bryon the installer and did the measurements and discussed the challenges and set the expectations.

With the advice of Rich & Brian we sent the measurements over to Chris and discussed the products I was looking for. We went with the amazing Fleetwood windows. The house was built in 1960 with a second story addition that all hangs over a canyon. So there were challenges that were addressed up front and the corrections were made to make sure all the windows were installed properly.

Working from home I was able to watch every step of the entire process. True professionals and local good people. Very organized on the work site and cleaned up and organized every day. To me that is important.

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible experience after spending a lot of money on supposed high end quality windows and doors. Multiple issues with casements not shutting, handles missing, improper glazing. Here's the thing, I totally get that in a large installation (we replaced all of our windows and doors with Fleetwood), you are going to have a few things that go wrong (well we had more then a few).

Where Fleetwood really drops the ball though, is they put in an incredibly draconian process where it is virtually impossible to get anything fixed. Fleetwood will try to blame the distributor who will blame the contractor and it will go round and round. As a user I just want the windows and doors to actually work. We have a window (with rains approaching) that won't shut. Fleetwood refuses to send someone out.

They say the contractor has to try to fix it first. Ughh. I saw this from a previous review and would say it is totally spot on. "Fleetwood refuses to take responsibility for these problems and pushes us to our contractor and the resale distributor. Solutions are have been developed and some are corrected despite Fleetwood's position." They have beautiful windows and the marketing website looks great.

But when you actually go through the process of ordering and installing them is where you feel the pain. I think where it most stings is these are not cheap windows and doors! You are paying quite a pretty penny and for Fleetwood to put up so many barriers to get even something simple fixed is beyond me. We literally waited five months just to get handles for a window sent to us.

Our contractor was also amazed at their utter lack of service and beauracracy at getting anything fixed. He did another job where when there was a problem, the other window manufacturer came out the next day and fixed it. Vs the Fleetwood way which is, you need to go through your distributor first, file a claim, then they will tell your contractor to fix it, then if he can't fix it, then file another claim, then maybe we will send someone out. I never write negative reviews like this. Like never. But I just don't want someone else to blindly walk in and not know what you are going to have to go through.

Absolutely horrible! Run from this company. You will see many of their reviews are from self serving design professionals selling Fleetwood products. My purchase was a significant six figure amount for a 7,000' luxury home. They were delayed by over two months with no apologies or concessions. They closed two hours early before a two week Christmas holiday leaving the delivery truck to wait until January to pick up the materials. Fleetwood made the truck schedule.

Next disaster was they painted all the windows in the wrong color. Now another three months delay on top of the previous two month delay. Final delivery had missing glass and framing and no keys for the glass doors. Another five week delay for replaced frames and we had to re-key all doors. Final disaster! All three large sliding glass window sections were machined differently then what they show in the showroom.

The frames were butchered and large areas left with no paint. Their response, we spent over a hundred thousand in redoing the job and would not fix the damaged installation. The truth is they spent the hundred grand because they painted them incorrectly. The client (myself) did nothing wrong except choosing Fleetwood. My custom home builder will never use Fleetwood windows.

I will never use Fleetwood windows in a future home. Please don't screw yourself with believing their fancy brochures. I had numerous calls with the management team. The CEO Mark McCoy is the founders son. When I asked him to push his suppliers to complete my job on a fast track after painted incorrectly, his response was no. I continued to debate him on why I shouldn't have to wait another three months because of their error.

His response. SHUT THE F@&K UP OR ILL DO NOTHING. If the CEO is a poor leader then they company will be a poor company. My final result will be litigation for damages and having to redo the incorrect installation. Choosing Fleetwood resulted in a five month delay in the completion of my home. Please don't make the same mistake that I made. The response from Mark McCoy is full of false statements.

My windows are still not fixed. After three months locks are failing, stainless steel fittings are pitted and the sliding glass doors were machined improperly. Run from doing business with Fleetwood Windows.

We have full wall along the balcony of Fleetwood Doors and Windows. This is a penthouse unit on 19th floor. The door hardware has deteriorated due to salinity in the air and moisture. The building as from early 2000 and now we have issues with the hardware on sliding doors and standard doors that have difficulty opening and closing as well as finish on the hardware has started to peel.

I contacted Fleetwood in an attempt to get those 3 doors serviced and they do not provide service while at the same time I got few numbers for other companies from Irvine to inspect and possibly service these doors. One of the crew came and got the information needed and they are trying to get some help from Fleetwood to provide new hardware. The Fleetwood is not returning calls to the company they advertised and recommended as their service company.

I am completely disappointed with Fleetwood as they are neglecting to provide any reasonable solution for common problem as their hardware is unusable and non functioning. At least they could provide replacement pieces and provide the contact to their supply chain and solve problems. The Fleetwood is refusing to cooperate in any shape or form with their clients, direct or indirect.

I would highly suggest to stay away from their products. I will add the service company was recommended by Fleetwood. They came and inspected these doors and recommended replacement of the hardware. They contacted Fleetwood which did not return their calls. At the end we heard that doors are too old? My client purchased this condo around May 2019 and did not inherit any maintenance manual for the doors from the building association.

This is 19 story high rise building. The association and their maintenance service could not get any assistance from Fleetwood! My note to Fleetwood would be that 20 years for a building product is not a very long time and they should maintain certain number of items to service and repair their products. Due to association rules the client can not replace anything on the outside but they would still prefer to be able to open their balcony doors.

The Fleetwood maintains the policy that the owner has so go thru the service provider and installer to get any product repaired and Fleetwood is not selling service parts. How do you expect this to be repaired?

As a high end Owner Rep, I have used Fleetwood windows many times and they are a good product. However, their good fortune has ruined them. They promised delivery in June, then July, then August, then September, then October, and yesterday they said November. Do not believe them. I am cancelling another project! Terrible lies!

We had Fleetwood doors and window installed about 5 years ago and although they appear very sturdy and beautiful, we had experienced numerous issues with no helpful response from the manufacturer. Our windows were supposed to sun protected and we do have double-paned glass but who would have thought the protective coating would be in the outer side of the windows?

Why NOT on the inner glass? My husband didn't know that and when he was using a scraper (on what he thought was glass) to remove construction debris on the outer glass, our windows are permanently scratched! Also, they seal very tight like which is great, but now we have a condensation issue which has created water on the inside window sills and they are starting to deteriorate and becoming moldy. If anyone has any suggestions to repair these problems, please reply. Thank you.

Our architect spec'ed Fleetwood windows and doors so we purchased 30 windows and doors. When the product works right, it is great. Unfortunately, we've had many issues. 6' x 10' slider too heavy to open with 1/4" handle, door locks not working, casement windows flop 8-12" in modest breeze, casements not sealed completely when closed and locked.

Our biggest problem, however, is a tri-fold window that drips through the weep holes to the interior side of the window. Condensation and rain water is constantly coming into the kitchen. Fleetwood refuses to take responsibility for these problems and pushes us to our contractor and the resale distributor. Solutions are have been developed and some are corrected despite Fleetwood's position. I cannot recommend Fleetwood and regret not pursuing alternate manufacturers.

I WOULD NEVER BUY FLEETWOOD DOORS! I bought my home in 2015 that already had them installed in 2014. Similiar to others below, I had spontaneous breakage. Nobody disputes that, yet Fleetwood basically leaves you on your own to find someone to replace and install new glass.which isn't easy.even some of their authorized vendors will sell you the glass but won't install.and no one wants to install glass that they haven't sold you. Fleetwood takes no responsibility for a defective product.just getting a return call from a person is rare (Region Mgr Dan Giboney is completely unresponsive) and I got incorrect info from customer service repeatedly. Fleetwood recently changed their warranty to include spontaneous breakage covered at 50%.they obviously became aware that a large percentage of their glass is defective and having spontaneous breakage.had no choice but to do SOMETHING.problem is the warranty is NOT retroactive.so if you bought their defective product prior to the new warranty update YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN WITH THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.

Even if you buy new Fleetwood doors and have spontaneous breakage.which apparently is likely.they only cover that at 50%(which basically just means they aren't making a profit but selling at cost) and you are still responsible for installation! I don't know how a company that purports to sell a high end, very expensive product does not take responsibility for defects when their own authorized dealer verifies spontaneous breakage.

Another Fleetwood Sales Rep Tom Owen told me the Fleetwood door on their showroom even had spontaneous breakage.which is indoor and under no weather stresses.so would appear to also be defective. I just spent $1300 to replace one of the defective Fleetwood doors. I have 7 other Fleetwood doors panes.wish me luck

Fleetwood delivered our product on time. WOOHOO! Installation went smoothly and the windows are gorgeous. The windows function beautifully, as designed. Our home renovation is not complete, but the windows, doors, and sliders are in and so far we do not have any issues. I can't wait for the construction protective sheets to peel away. house is going to look amazing. I will post pics in about 2 months. Thanks Fleetwood for making it happen.

I had a Fleetwood door installed in 2012. The door has 3 10x5 tempered glass panels and cost over $20,000. 2 days ago the inner pane ( the one facing the room) of one of the double paned doors spontaneously, without any internal or external trauma or warning, shattered into a thousand pieces. On doing a google search it appears that this is a rare but not unheard of problem with such doors.

The feeling is that the cause could be any one of the following 1. areas of excessive large concentration of nickel alloy in the glass that could cause the glass to fracture or split. 2. Poor edge quality during manufacture 3. Frame-related breakage or 4. Thermal stress--within the glass itself All of these issues appear to be due to errors in manufacturing and yet on contacting Fleetwood we were informed that even though we were still within our warranty period and that the fault was not ours, we were not covered for this breakage.

We were never informed of the possibility of such a problem both with the product or the warranty when we purchased the item or else we would never have bought it I am attaching Fleetwood's warranty information for your review 6. Insulated Glass: * Free of significant obstruction within the air space (e.g. chips, scratches, fingerprints, moisture and discoloration) for ten (10) years.

From year eleven (11) forward, a charge equal to 50% retail price will be charged to the Dealer. * Lites exceeding 70 square feet are limited to eight (8) years. * Laminated and butt glazed lites are limited to five (5) years. Also on doing a google search it would appear that other manufacturers and distributers do take responsibility for such problems I would never recommend getting a Fleetwood product to anyone If you like this kind of door find another manufacturer

Ernie in customer service has gone way beyond my expectations for good customer service. Fleetwood makes great sliding doors and also stands behind their product. I have a patio sliding glass door that was installed about 30 years ago. Due to wear and tear, the latch has worn out. Ernie got a new mechanism shipped to me in a few days after my request. Next the slider track in the door frame became worn out. He got a new piece in two days! Good job Ernie!

This company is off the charts from a consumers perspective My parents have a house in San Diego. It was remodeled with Fleetwood windows in 1994. In 2014, i noticed some of the door latches needed to be replaced. Not because they were defective but because my parents and others forcefully closed the sliding doors with the latch in the closed or locked position.

After 20 years, some were bent so i called Fleetwood to have them serviced. They were there 2 days later and literally checked out everything and fixed anything that wasn't perfect. They also refused to let me pay, which was ridiculous. I said i will never ever not use them if i needed doors and windows. We recently completed a new home, of course with Fleetwood, and we are thrilled. Incredibly, today Fleetwood had a team of people show up today to fix something that i didn't even have a problem with. These guys will never let you down

Got to thank Fleetwood Customer Service for the help today. Been missing some small parts that were lost for my door during the remodel of my house. Finally finishing up the remodel and still had not located the knobs. Called in and got a star in customer service; he is mentioned repeatedly in yelp for great service and I can see why. Thanks for taking the ball and solving my problem. I know it is a small item.but its 1 less thing I have to do. I appreciate you H. Roston

Fleetwood does not stand behind their product. We purchased doors with a custom Kinar paint which started to blister within the first year. They sent a painter out who informed me that painting on-site would only last about another year. I called the company and told him what their painter said. At that point, I was completely ignored. When I got the distributor involved, he was able to get them out to look at the doors. Their rep assured when he was here that he would help make it right. Again we are being ignored. Horrible company!

During the first quarter of 2014 we placed an order directly with a windows dealer in a written contract for a Fleetwood Door Window System that matched the specs design by our architect and the San Diego City Environmental Code. Because of new energy efficiency regulations in the building code, we had to go with the most expensive and highest performance system (the 3070 series), the cost of the order was over 50k.

The delivery was delayed for over a month according to what we agreed in contract. Once the windows were installed, we soon noticed that the aluminum frame was absorbing the heat from the sun and at certain times of the day it could not be touched without burning your hand, reaching alarming temperatures of over 149°F. The radiating heat coming out of the aluminum frame makes the entire house very hot, reaching temperatures over 90 F inside, doing the exact opposite of what the product was supposed to avoid.

During the last 3 years we have been patiently trying to negotiate a solution with the dealer and Fleetwood. Both companies have come to the house, inspected the product and agreed with us and our contractor that they've never seen this problem happen before. Yet they have not offered any other recourse for the issue. After many months of discomfort we demanded a final response to both companies for a solution to the problem.

Unfortunately we have had no other option than to file a lawsuit against Fleetwood and the dealer. This is unfortunate because I have never sued anyone or any company for a product failing to meet expectations. In order to fix this issue the whole system will have to be replaced. This means that outside the exterior stucco of the house will have to be removed around the windows, and doors. Also, the drywall on the inside of the house around the windows will have to be removed. We are repeat customers from Fleetwood and we are very dissapointed at the customer service and profesionalism they have shown.

Be very careful with this company. Our experience has to date, been BAD. Service after the sale is nonexistent. Customer service is nonexistent. Some of the windows we bot are corroding to the point that the actuator needs to be replaced after 2 years. The distributor Sun Coast Windows won't do it, and we cannot get Fleetwood to answer the phone. The most recent attempt was on 8-17-2015. No answer, no message, no nothing. All things considered, it would not surprise me if they folded.
