Owner Terry Chriestenson had a novel idea leveraging his deep knowledge of the concrete business to open a rental store catering specifically to contractors. We will spend as much time with our customer as they need. At VMC Concrete we pride ourselves on being one of the local concrete companies that supply Reddy-Mix Concrete, custom mixed on site.
With residential and city mixes available. With multiple Concrete Trucks delivering your concrete needs in or outside Wichita City Limits is no problem. Just give us a call to schedule your pour.

We have been coming to VMC for over a year to obtain patterned blocks. that are made of the extra (already bought for) concrete that comes back from jobs. We make a two hour trip to come here because the price was less than other but the quality is also less because it is mixed with several types of concrete when it comes back in on the truck that isn't used. Recently, the forms have been horribly curved which does not make for a good looking landscape wall.
The last trip we made, there were six blocks that had to be moved because they were either curbed or the operator broke the tops when he pulled them off (he drug them off the top of another block and did not pull them straight up). There are like 60 blocks sitting in the yard and I had them move six of them to get six that I thought looked okay, not perfect because none of them are.
We also requested concrete caps for these but when we get there (no call to say they are done) three of the seven are cracked on the front or top. I'm not going to pay for something that doesn't look good or that may break. The last time we went to get block, the owner was very rude to us and said that he doesn't make anything (money) off the block and that we couldn't pick and choose our block that we pay for.
We caused no issue with any of the workers who were getting our block and one even stated that he wouldn't pay for something that was broke or deformed either. The owner was very disrespectful stating that we get what we get and told the loader guy to not let us chose the ones we want. He informed me that he has had multiple people complain about us which is interesting because we have dealt with the same individuals except for the new loader guy.
He informed my husband that he was going to charge us $75 a block to choose the ones we wanted, $30 more than the block is typically. Pretty sure that customer service is when someone pays for something, they get what they pay for and these are NOT perfect by any means. He was rude to my husband and then rude to me (spoke to him separately) and walked off like I wasn't even speaking saying that he was done and doesn't make any money on them but it seems that he is making double money (charging people for the load of concrete and when it isn't all used, he brings it back to make block and charges again to the people who want the block.) I understand business, but I also understand customer service.
We have spent quite a bit of money and time to come and get block from VMC but no more. There was nothing else that happened other than the owner being rude and telling the loader to not allow us to choose our block. Customer service is not his fortay. We have determined that we will not be using VMC anymore either.

Its great and all that they have the mobile mixers. But the lady behind the rental desk is very very rude and you better have your own ball cause they are an equipment rental place that doesnt rent out ball hitches! Also super inconvenient that they dont reserve any concrete trailers. All in all id rather mix bag concrete then go back here.

Always been treated right here. I was working for someone who used Terry for concrete 16 years ago and I have used him for every job i have done since. I have always had good luck with drivers being patient and even willing to help out when I'm doing a job by myself. I can tell you from my experience with them is they dont put up with the people who think they are the only customer that matters and I absolutely love it. First come first serve amd dont cause problems. Things break down and people who think they know how to do concrete but dont can slow things up. Thats the same everywhere

My husband worked there 2 days and could not believe the terrible condition of the trucks. One truck has a metal coat hanger to wrap around the door handle to the seat belt to secure the door. No safety equipment, almost none of the gauges work and are not DOT certified, as required by law. I made my husband quit for fear his 18 year clean DMV being blemished or worse. injuring or killing another driver on the road.
These trucks are a death trap and endanger all other patrons on the road. See attached photos of VMC concrete trucks. The first one clearly shows the coat hanger to secure door. Others show dangerous wiring and broken gauges.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality VMC trucks are not DOT certified, as required by law. Look at the dangerous trucks VMC owners put on the roads every day, putting everyone in harms way. I gave the owner time to correct before D.O.T., OSHA, BBB, and other regulating authorities are notified.

Terrible terrible terrible. they screwed up the mix in the u-turn trailer. We rented 2 of them and the second batch of concrete had no Portland cement in it. once it was poured it looked ok, but when we came back to pull the forms the concrete crumbled like dry bread. called them and spoke with sarah, she said she would replace the concrete and give me 75-100 dollars on the account.
I explained to her that I had to tear out the concrete re form it re level it re pin it etc. That to fix it was going to cost me 1000 on labor And was putting me behind by like 3 days she emailed me back and said the best she could do was a free yard of concrete, which wouldnt be free I payed for concrete and got sand, and 200 dollars of store credit.
I told her this was unacceptable and that 200 dollars would put me 1000 dollars behind o this job. And she hasn't responded back. terrible terrible service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. And they not only screwed up my concrete but had total disregard for a guy who works pay check to paycheck and only care about them making there bottom line.

They were able to accommodate my very tight schedule on one of their bussiest days and as a result my project went fabulously. Great Company! I did another job with them, poured a 6 yard slab and had the concrete delivered. Jay the driver was awesome he stuck around as long as I needed him even though most of the concrete was in the forms within 25 minutes.
