Discount Home Warehouse Since 1994, Discount Home Warehouse has worked to preserve and pass on our architectural history. DHW was established to re-purpose the re-useable building materials and unique architectural pieces recovered from the vast number of homes being demolished or extensively remodeled in the Dallas/Ft. Now this valuable salvage is integrated into new building or design projects rather than headed to overflowing landfills.
Services
We salvage architectural elements and reclaim building materials from homes and buildings throughout Texas and the surrounding states, keeping them from our overflowing landfills. At Discount Home Warehouse, we have been helping our customers breathe new life into salvaged materials for over 20 years.

The kindness of the staff is why I return to this business. We arrived four minutes before closing. We told the staff we traveled about a hour to get there. They did not turned us away. They told us to take our time. So, we took our time looking for knobs and handles for our new kitchen cabinets. They knew the inventory better than us and once they knew what we were looking for they were able to locate 57 combinations that were perfect. Thank you guys so much and God bless you.

Great salvage warehouse! I do renovations for a living, and have used them for years. Front doors, cabinets, wrought iron, clawfoot tubs, shelving, and more. It's a way to use quality materials, reduce/reuse/recycle and add character.

Absolutely awesome store. Just the kind of place you got to, buy a few items and build your new home around it. I left drool behind. So many pretty items.

Nice selection staff very friendly and helpful, however have had past issues with same agent. Last visit had another issue being overcharged contacted was reassured that it would be reviewed and ultimately no response. * I know where I shop and know who I dealt with. That next day we emailed and left voicemail and received call back from the Hispanic cashier who said she'd speak with manager to resolve issue as it wasn't the first time she made mistake when ringing us out.

I'm NOT going to dispute a charge over 20$. However we've spent thousands throughout a period of 2 years but will NEVER spend another dime because this lady / agent / sales rep has made multiple errors and each time it is fixed. This past time we made sure to email and leave voicemail so assuming she erased them deleted them and swept this under the rug. **** not confusing your business with another ****

My late mom used to take me shopping with her to lots of places, many of them what I would consider "offbeat" and off the beaten path. This is one of them. It's a Disneyland of repurposed treasures. The selection is extensive. My friend Cyndi invited me to go with her to shop for cabinet hardware. She ended up finding everything she needed, with some help from the friendly staff. It's a cool place to wander around aimlessly, even if you aren't looking for anything specific. Something will undoubtedly jump out and scream, "Buy me!"

We have been able to find some excellent pieces for our house renovation. The bathroom vanity was an amazing, one of a kind custom item. We have been able to find a kitchen cabinet set and are returning today for a set to add built in storage. I look forward to our trips here even though we're driving a few hundred miles

As an owner-investor and property manager for many older homes in the Dallas area, I was thrilled to find this location over a decade ago! I have since purchased windows, doors, salvaged hardwoods, mantles and even some appliances for many of our properties. Service is always available and they are extremely helpful. I honestly could spend hours in their warehouse and showroom, just wandering around and guessing where some of the wonderful doors, windows and other artifacts came from.but not enough time.

I know that before Covid, they had even added a little coffee bar. Prices are fair, and if you buy in bulk.you can ask for bulk pricing. This is such a great way to find things that are no longer made and recycle responsibly. Stay green and prosper!

Absolutely unreal the crazy things they had here. From air conditioners to $10,000 solid onyx doors.

I stumbled upon this place while visiting Dallas. Now I make it a priority when visiting Dallas from San Antonio. This place is incredible and Steven is a Gem! He has an eye for quality and knows his stuff. I described what I was looking for and he led me to the perfect items for my home. I could never afford such beautiful mirrors, hardware, chandeliers, etc. but DHW has them. If you get a chance, head over; everyone there is super helpful. Steven is truly gifted at his craft.

Definitely worth a trip. If you're looking for a door or shutters this is where you need to be. I came across a table and scored some vintage doorknobs too. Some seems overpriced for the state of it, but you're not paying near retail either. Other things are truly discounted. Enjoy the hunt!

This place is a gem! We've done lots of renovations and are always on the lookout for quality and unique items. This place did not disappoint. Chris was a wealth of knowledge and pointed out interesting items. They were patient and not pushy. We thought their prices were very fair. Can't wait to go back!

I almost didn't head over here because the reviews said they were pricey. But at the recommendation of a friend I decided to give it a shot. It is definitely not pricey, I was looking for a salvaged door and found them anywhere from 30 to $125. Considering that putting in a brand new door with no character would cost me at least $80 sure, I found their prices to be extremely reasonable.

I definitely think if you are looking for something old to make your house have character, stop by and give it a try! I definitely found at least 50 doors to choose from in the size I needed.

Warning! Warning! Buyers be ware do yourself a favor and find a more reputable place to shop and spend your money. First off I'm am not a Carpenter or a home builder I'm just a guy trying to purchase a decent quality door at a reasonable price So hear is what happens to me i purchase the wrong size door which was not my fault they had the wrong size wrote on the door and the person working with me was also giving me the wrong information I get home realize the door is to big and won't fit I call the same day these people will not give u your money back so I'm out 400 bucks for a door I can't use these people are horrible crooks please save yourself a lot of heart break and dissatisfaction find yourself a store that will stand by the products they sale Crooks! Crooks! Crooks!

Bottom line this place has a terrible return policy at the end of the talking back and fourth I ended up wit a door I didn't choose because they refused to return my money. Imagine going to Home Depot making a purchase coming back the same day and being told sorry if it doesn't fit but u ain't getting your money back buddy

This place never disappoints! New items on every visit with stuff I could probably never afford at retail prices. The staff are helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy showing new inventory. Pricing is a steal (and if you think you can get a better deal -ask if the item is negotiable) and I love coming here!

This is the type of establishment where you wish the walls could talk! There are some incredibly beautiful pieces here, clearly salvaged from some of the finest homes in Dallas. Then there are some kitschy pieces as well! Products range from mantles, stained glass, lighting, outdoor furniture statuary, bathroom fixtures, you name it! I feel like this is where remodelers from Highland Park take their salvage to die!

I can't wait to try one of the mantle pieces in my house and will be adding some beautiful vintage cabinet pulls in my kitchen. Prices range from very cheap to very expensive. The staff is knowledgeable and you immediately feel that they are trustworthy from the assistance they provide. This is simply a great, fun store.

Graveyard of kitchens, bathrooms, light fixtures and more that owners no longer love. It's sad to see an ENTIRE kitchen someone gutted from their home that had custom cabinetry, beautiful granite countertops and a massive Island with ornate finishings ripped away from its home and moved to this warehouse, some I've seen look maybe 2 yrs old. Pieces of churches, restaurants - all disowned and waiting for someone to adopt them and give them new life. Before you install new flooring or do any remodeling.check out this place first.you may run across some really unique vintage finds.

Really cool stuff here. After going to Orr Reed and digging through their mess, this was a nice change of pace. They've got tons of old lights, mantles, shutters, doors, door knobs, cabinets & more. Now that I know this place exists I'll definately be back. Reminds me of some of the salvage and restoration places they show on Rehab Addict that I didn't think existed in Dallas.

I do not get the appeal of this place, but I am not the crafty one in my family - that is my wife's department, and she tells me this place is the bee's-knees for crafty people like her. Whatever that means. I am dragged here regularly to carry stuff around the store while she stacks it up in my arms. She seems to have a good time and I like to chat with the friendly staff as well.

They really seem to enjoy talking to their customers and they joke around with my kids too, so waiting for my wife to find some used piece of wood or concrete thing to make into something else is not so bad.

I love this place because it has some treasures, but be ready to spend some time to do the search because it is not a place you will just walk in and find what you want. Some of the items are overpriced in my opinion but all in all the choices are plentiful and you CAN negotiate some. They are very nice and helpful so if you need to ask for opinions, assistance, or anything else, they are there for you. Even if you are not in the market to buy anything, stop by because you don't know what you will find.

Ever wonder where all the cool, old stuff goes when some ass dozes one of the original homes in Highland/University Park to make room for a gaudy McMansion? This is the answer. If you are doing any kind of remodeling job, check this place out first. If you're not doing any kind of remodeling job, check this place out anyway. Very unlike Orr Reed, DHW is clean and extremely well organized. Overwhelmed by the massive selection of all-manner-of-things? Ask any of the staff and they'll show you where you want to be. Or, if you stand around with a dazed expression on your face, they seem to find you.

I just went here today, but my mom has been raving about it. They have all sorts of doors, cabinets, shutters and shelves that have been salvaged from houses that are about to be torn down. I saw some really cool stuff! It makes me want to buy an old house and start getting to work! I'll for sure be back.
