I was looking for frosted glass for a door. I went in to Davis-Hawn and went to the section with doors and glass. I was speaking to a younger lady about options, price ect. When from behind me a snarling growl that could only come from a disgruntled middle-aged woman, said something along the lines of. Go to the register he can help you! My God woman if I were interrupting you or was in the wrong department?

There are ways to let the customer know, besides barking at them unexpectedly. The gentleman at the register turned out to be a great help! I will no longer be going here, for fear of retribution from the old scab!

Just don't waste your time with these guys. I tired using these guys about 5 times now and never available, well how you expect to get your selfs new builders?

They have just about anything you may need for your home projects. I go there for wood siding I can't find anywhere else. Fair prices and good quality. Friendly staff that help you find what you need.

As a professional remodeler who specializes in older homes throughout Dallas' historic districts, I've come to depend on Davis Hawn for their expertise in sourcing and re-creating hard-to-find trim and building materials. Their customer service is the best I've found amongst all DFW vendors. I've also appreciated their commitment to training and supporting the next generation of tradespeople and other owners/stewards of the metroplex's historic homes; it's rare to find a business who cares this much about the community it's a part of - and then actively works to make a positive impact.

Called for a quote for about 1,500 boards and they just read me off a general price. They are cheaper than the box stores but more than other local lumber yards. Other local places give you a better deal at least for bulk orders.

We went to Davis-Hawn to buy doors for a remodel project. I was told the time for delivery would be 2 -3 weeks. Well over one month later, we have no doors, it is difficult to reach anyone, and we have repeatedly been promised the doors within a few days. Just today, a young man couldn't find the order! We're in our new office but have to walk down the street to use the restroom at the local sports bar because our bathroom still doesn't have a door. Don't use them. You'll regret it. If I could give them 0 stars, I'd do it.

Was in need of some historic molding. After searching their online catalog I found exactly what I needed. Or so I thought. Showed up and gave them the EXACT image from the catalog and a small piece of the molding. They agreed it was a match and I paid $50 for the order. Went out to the lumber yard to pick it up, and it wasn't what I ordered. After trying to explain to the worker (who spoke limited english) I ended up going back in and nobody would help me.

I finally just went to the front desk and returned the phone order and left. I wouldn't come back here if you paid me, it was a nightmare and took 2 hours just to attempt to pick up a few pieces of trim.
