Services
In 1986, Fred Fischer decided to build his own home with SIPS, and from there, FischerSIPS was born. In 1990, we joined together with a group of manufacturers and founded SIPA - The Structural Insulated Panel Association. Fred and his partner Scott Brian were builders as well as manufacturers, and used SIPS to build several condos and single family homes in Louisville.
The type of insulation you choose can result in thousands of dollars saved in utility bills over the life of your home. Insulation is rated by R-Value, which measures a material's thermal resistance. Insulating materials with a higher R-Value correspond with increasingly better performance. However, studies have shown that determined R-Values have little correlation with how an insulating material actually performs in a non-SIP home.
EPS, the type of insulating foam core used inside of structural insulated panels, is composed of 98% air and requires a minimal amount of petroleum byproduct to produce. Scrap EPS, created in the manufacturing process, is easily recycled into new EPS products. OSB, produced from harvesting young, underutilized, and renewable trees, helps to alleviate the negative impact that deforestation has on the environment.
FischerSIPS was founded in 1987 by Fred Fischer. We are a founding member of The Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) and have been highly involved since its inception. We have held a place on the board of directors since 1990 with Damian serving as President from 2003-2006. In our past, FischerSIPS has had sister companies both in the Modular world (Samson Homes) and Site Construction (FBC Construction).

In the past year I have built four different homes utilizing FischerSIPS products. The engineering staff and Owner, Damian, are awesome to work with. If we needed to make a change or had a question they were very responsive. Each house we have put up has gotten easier and quicker to assemble due to FischerSIPS organization and details. We are already planning for our fifth and sixth home utilizing FischerSIPS.

FisherSIPS has supplied our structural insulated panels for 15 years. As a building professional, we are looking for partners who are not only competitive in cost, but also in service. Even though there are suppliers closer to us (i.e. less freight costs), we have found Fisher to have unprecedented service. If a problem/complication arises in the field, we know they are only a phone call away to help us find a solution. When we are asked who to recommend for SIP's, Fisher is always at the top of the list.

I called and asked for a salesman as my wife and I are about to build a 2,000 sq ft house and a 60'x 80' agricultural barn. A 30' x 30' horse barn for our four Tennessee Walkers, and a 30' x 60' hay shed. I left my name, followed by my number, a brief description as to why I was calling their salesman for information, and then left my name and number two more times.
I never heard back. It was 13 days later, I called another SIP company in Ohio and he listened to what I needed and gave me a quote. Needless to say, I won't do businesiness nor recceomend these guys in my state of Kentucky. Super disappointed to put tax dollars outside my state. Happy with the results I got. Just not from these guys. Answer your phone at 2pm on a Thursday or call by 4pm Friday the following week. Sales school 101
