Founded in 1955, Jim and Lorraine Landon opened the doors of Landon Lumber Company in a barn in Guilford, CT. The newly established business quickly outgrew its space and was moved to Garnet Park Road in Madison, CT in 1962, where the business continued to expand for the next 15 years. In 1977, the business was moved to its current location on Route 1/134 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT; where the business continues to thrive and grow. With an ever expanding product line and growing customer base, Landon Lumber expanded their store in 1996, with a dedication to honor one of its founders, Lorraine Landon.

Stay away at all costs! Just bought some lumber there and just about had to give the old man wearing shorts at the lumber desk a piece of my mind. First, for no reason he started ranting about hating anyone that wasn, t white like him and saying he hated all the foreigners coming ito CT and he was paying for them. Then I bought the lumber and realized I needed it cut to width.
When I called the guy said they wouldn't cut it but he'd sell me a saw and thus get into my pocket a bit more. Hands down, save yourself a lot of grief and go to the Home Depot or Lowes where they don't judge you by the color of your skin. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! William Edgar Madison CT

I would normally charge a consulting fee for valuable feedback, but this one's on me: Leave your politics - and your attitude - at home. What makes you think your customers appreciate baseless, denigrating remarks, particularly when it's clear you're simply replaying barroom bluster. If you actually had opinions of merit, you probably would have proposed genuine, workable solutions at the same time. That didn't happen. Nor will repeat business from me.

John from Staten island is completely wrong, They would have sold him any length he wanted but he would have to cut it or if he wasn't capable of doing that someone would have done it for him. Flags, twine and even a stapler to attach the flag are in the caboose car/ yard checkout office. As a Building / Remodeling contractor for 25+years, I know they are the best lumber yard around this area with great products and even better service. They are the only lumber yard I know of that takes deliveries of lumber direct from the mill & right off the freight train.

We needed a ten foot piece of molding but they only had sixteen foot piece's, ok, so we'll take it but when we asked for some string or twine to tie it on to the car's roof rack we were told we would have to buy a roll. how nice to treat customer's like that. we would rather travel the extra twelve mile's to home depot than deal with a business that doesn't value a customer.
