Although Woodhaven officially began in 1983, Woodhaven's roots began in 1963 when Brad's father bought his eleven-year-old son, a router. Upon arriving home with his very own real live power tool, he immediately rushed to the basement and plugged it in. His delight soon turned to sheer terror when, he squeezed the trigger and it jerked wildly! His response was to mount it in a table, hoping all the while that it wouldn't go off into some sub-space basement orbit. Well, it worked! In 1983 Brad opened Woodhaven (a woodworking tool store, classroom and do-it- yourself shop).
Services
Sturdy aluminum Double Track rails support the router and won't deflect as you move the router back and forth over the stock. You supply a 3/4 plywood work surface. Includes a NoDrill Router Plate with a quick attach feature so your router can be quickly attached or removed. You can use a Fixed or Plunge Base Router with the Woodhaven Scarfing Sled.
Any of these coping sleds will provide better results than a scrap board acting as a backer during a cut. But for me, the small extra cost of the Woodhaven sled is a great investment for a step up in performance. It beats using double sided tape to hold the template in place on the rail and panel. The heavy duty jig comes in a kit with easy to fllow instructions.
