Sean at Murrieta lumberyard was very helpful and made my purchase of Trex easy. He loaded my purchase and used proper travel precautions with material extended from my trunk. Thanks for a job well done!

The wood they delivered was extremely warped and of uneven width which made it impossible to install evenly. They refused to find a solution stating that they were not going to take back wood they couldn't resell. I purchased approximately $3000 worth of hardwood. Initially the customer service was good when they were trying to sell me on the wood.

I took their advice in selecting which kind of wood based on the project I described. They delivered the wood with missing pieces. They said they were going to call me to deliver later. About a month went by and they never called so I had to go pick up the wood myself. When it came time for install, my installers noted the wood was severely warped, and the width of the wood was not even.

I tried to be flexible and fair but JW Lumber refused to make things right in any way. Attached are some pictures, the fence looks worst in person. I'll be making a sign for my busy corner lot to tell people not to buy from this place.

Great service, if they don't have it they make it the girl at front desk is super nice and professional great attitude, there are two guys usually at the yard very helpful people thank you so much for making a difference, and a difficult day a lot a easier keep rolling guys thank you so much!

I am the owner of C J U Construction and have worked with many lumber companies, but Will at the El Cajon J&W stands out as being consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and is the reason I keep coming back. He is always friendly with a good attitude and helps me find the materials I need. This is why it is my first choice and my go-to for materials. This is a great place with friendly, helpful staff. Lumber is getting more difficult to find and the prices are out of control, but J&W had what I needed in stock.

Super happy with this porch and fence remodel, especially for this weekender DIY'er. A great selection of quality wood made a difference in both aesthetics and durability. Plenty of advice and guidance from Charlie and staff helped make it possible.

My first time visiting JW this week and will definitely return again and again, it was busy but Michele took her time to show me everything and explain all my options. I do a lot of decks and had no idea that they had so much in stock and will return again and again- EXCELLENT customer service- they've won a lifetime customer. Thanks Michele and Tray!

Today I had the opportunity of stopping in at JW Lumber here in Otay of main st. The first thing I noticed was they parties out for there employees and customers along with coffee That says alot about a company and how they treat there customers and employees so that's a plus guys. The reason why I stopped in was to fill out a application maybe for a delivery driver or a labor.

But since i didn't know that it was all online I guess tonight ill be filling a application but thank to the guy that helped me out on with the biz card much appreciated may God Bless you guys and your family's

This is a great company where we currently get all our redwood lumber. They material is high quality and good value, and is easily viewed outdoors. The yard guys are friendly and highly efficient. We love this place and wouldn't go anywhere else for our basic lumber needs.

This review is specific to a delivery experience I had maybe its just the driver not sure. Driver called and said he was 15 min away. I said someone would be there to show where to drop it. The guy flew into the driveway, ignored my wife and dropped it so fast the bands broke off the cedar planks. Plenty of concrete everywhere and he dropped it in the dirt with no dunnage.

Over $1500 worth of good wood laying in the dirt. He was in such a hurry not even my wifes flailing arms could get his attention. It would have taken two minutes of his time to have the courtesy to drop it where I wanted. I understand I paid for roll off delivery but care should still be taken to ensure nothing is damaged. I was told I could return anything that got dirty but that defeats the purpose of having it delivered. Its all dirty. I didnt want anything for free just honesty and maybe fix the problem. I got neither.

These are awesome people to deal with! Better lumber than the big box stores, great attitude, helpful. Just a good experience all around.

These guys were a hoot! Walked in on a great conversation about one girl hairstyle in the other guy in the middle of an argument his girlfriend. However very friendly and we able to guide me to where I need to go. The lumber was fairly priced and had A lot of different wood choices! I need more of the same lumber in the next couple of weeks and I will be definitely going back to JW lumber. If you need cedar redwood or any other type of wood look no further than JW lumber, they only will you get wood good time with the staff.

I ordered some materials that have taken a long time to arrive. Jax and Leo that work at J and W have been so helpful contacting the company that is lagging that I would go back to J and W because of them. Thank you!

I was looking for fence board replacements. Somebody told me about this place. Thank goodness, as the other places were out of these boards until August. Immediately upon pulling in, a young man named 'Will' directed me where to park, as parking is minimal. He immediately assisted me and handled everything from the product, to the purchase, to loading.

He was very quick and efficient. A real go getter who was in charge of the yard and I can see why! After having had a business, I recognize these exceptional employees, whom have real pride in their work ethics. This young man will be moving on up in the world! In addition, I really loved this nestled little business! I'll be back.

Prices were good for the composite wood but the customer service from the Manager at the El Cajon store was awful.

I need wood for a project and I contacted several different lumber yards. J&W responded fast and asked me for more details so they could understand the scope of the work I was doing. They then came up with a full quote that included everything so there was no surprises. Went to their yard and placed the order and in two days I had all the lumber delivered to my house.

The delivery was great, everything was as expected and all the lumber was in good condition. Really appreciate the help and service I got from AJ and his team. Also, as it turns out even with delivery they where the lowest cost of all my quotes.

We are building a new fence and J&W had the best prices and customer service and we shopped around! Most places are unfriendly and not too interested in answering questions but here we felt like they wanted to help us. The delivery was fast and easy and Tim was amazing when he brought us our delivery he helped unload it and pile it where we wanted it vs dumping it off in the front as most places wanted to do. Thanks Tim and J&W will post a photo of the fence when it is complete.

We recently chose J&W Lumber after reading the positive reviews and are glad we did! Matt was awesome he was very helpful and patient with us when we were there choosing the materials we would be using. Thanks to Matt & Tim delivery was smooth and all the wood delivered was great. Full disclosure - I did not actually buy anything at this store, but the store manager, AJ tried his best to help me. We would have had a deal, as he worked hard to beat a competitor's price, but after several rounds of calls and bids, the material I needed apparently got sold and they were going to have to special order in at a higher price.

I felt bad that I could not proceed with the order, especially after I had so many questions and revisions. Nonetheless, AJ showed courtesy and professionalism and I wanted people to know how hard they tried.

Super late review, but Sean, Dane, and Tim were THE ABSOLUTE BEST part of my experience here at J and W! I unfortunately wasn't able to purchase anything, but they gave me the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. Anyone would be a fool to fire these gentlemen, seeing as they've defined good service for me at an establishment such as this! 5 stars for amazing service!

This is the first time my company has ordered lumber from J&W, and we were extremely pleased with our experience! To top it off, Tim who delivered our order was so friendly, checked with us for exactly where we'd like it dropped, called us right before delivery to confirm, and was great to work with. We'll be ordering many future orders I'm sure!

On 03/16/19 I stopped by to purchase a garden box had been referred because of the high quality of LUMBER used on the garden boxes. "Dane" a staff member helped me out. KUDDOS for his great customer service, especially because I am a female. Returned to J&W on 3/18/19 to pick up my merchandise, unfortunately DANE was busy with another customer therefore one of the other guys attempted to help me out.

He was rude, condescending. Do you think that it was because I was a female? The customer service was Wayyy different from Dane's approach in him helping me out. Perhaps management should address the fact that no matter if a customer is a female or male the service should always be with courtesy.

I've spent the last few week pricing vinyl fencing and ended up going with J&W. Prices are very fair and customer service is phenomenal. I've made a total of 3 trips to their store to figure out materials, order and back again today when I decided to add to my project. The employees are so helpful and seem genuinely happy to give advice. Highly recommend.

After trying the three big do-it-yourself places (you know who they are) I was feeling frustrated at not finding anyone who could help me realize my home landscape project. I called J&W. Dominic listened to my ideas and then asked questions that further nailed the look and the layout. He gave me three options of wood but recommended the least expensive.railroad ties.

After he figured the number needed, I told him I would come in and choose the ties. I had heard that other companies pick the worst to deliver. Dominic assured me that all the ties were of acceptable quality, but he would select the best. Delivery was prompt, next day, and the ties were great. Nice to find someone who is more than just a salesman, but a professional who takes the time to understand the customer's needs.

My husband and I used J & W Lumber in Sorrento Valley for a deck project. We were new homeowners and I was definitely a novice when it came to deck building. The costomer service was top notch! Jeff, the GM, walked us through the Trex decking and elevations framing every step of the way. Both Jeff and OB were a great help and I would definitely recommend J & W to anyone completing DIY project!

Love this place! Built a huge patio of redwood a couple of years back, which turned out beautifully. Their selection is phenomenal and their service is top notch. Recently visited again to get some redwood for an outdoor railing project and was reminded how great this place is. Highly recommend for quality lumber and fantastic customer service. Everyone is always so helpful and cheerful.
