Northern Dutchess Hardwoods

I just love these guys. First of all, they have a wonderful selection of carpeting and flooring. Second, they are SO nice. Third, they do an outstanding job of installation with hidden matches at the seams. And fourth, well, I just love our new wall-to-wall carpeting: hundreds of square feet of it! Mike is lovely. The installer teams are great. And we are blessed to have this shop in Red Hook.

I reached out to Northern Duchess Hardwoods shortly before I closed on a home where we wanted to replace 75% of the floor with hardwoods. It was daunting, as our goal was to have the work done before we moved in, but I was 800 miles away in South Carolina. Mike went above and beyond to make our plans worked. He arranged to visit the home with our real estate agent so he could take measurements.

He worked with us over the phone and via email to get us the hardwoods that we wanted. Even though we had a pretty short window for when the work could be done, it was all completed within about a week and a half, allowing us to move in when we had planned to do so. The work is gorgeous, and completely transformed our house. I would absolutely use Northern Duchess Hardwoods for our next project.

What a wonderful experience we had with Northern Dutchess Hardwood. From the start, Mike was responsive to all my emails and calls. He provided all the information I needed, and expertly guided us to make quality decisions on our flooring. We wound up buying three types of flooring, including hardwood and carpeting. Mike provided advice and opinions when asked, but there was never a hint of pressure to make a specific decision.

He also helped us work within our budget, and suggested ways to make our costs lower. In terms of the work, everything was completed in a timely manner, work started when promised, and the people working on the house were efficient and respectful of those of us in the house. Vinnie, who installed or hardwood, was great to work with. He arrived exactly on time, and seemingly never stopped until the entire job was completed. I highly recommend Northern Dutchess Hardwoods. It was nice to use a local company, and we couldn't be happier with the way the products look in our house.

After deciding to renovate the majority of our floors all at the same time, we visited Northern Dutchess Hardwoods. We arrived feeling pretty lost and uncertain re: what we wanted, having no experience putting in any new flooring, but we couldn't have chosen a better place. Mike and Dan were an absolute pleasure to work with. Mike was incredibly patient, kind and communicative throughout the entire process, from when we first selected flooring (a mix of hardwood, LVP and carpeting, with lots of indecision on my part thrown in) to the entire install, and he always took the time to share his vast knowledge so I could better understand the work.

I highly recommend Northern Dutchess Flooring. Mike and his team are first rate. The showroom had lots of excellent choices.much more interesting than those found at big box stores.and many for comparable prices. Mike's integrity was evident when the hardwood manufacturer of my original choice provided production pieces that didn't exactly match the samples.

He brought it to my attention and without question, let me select another option. The difference was slight, and he could have gone forward with the installation, but he was sensitive to the nuanced difference and let me make the choice. l He kept me apprised of the delivery timing, and kept to the schedule. The workmanship of his team, particularly Vince, who installed the hardwood floors, provided great quality. The results gave the "WOW factor" I had hoped for. I highly recommend Mike and Northern Dutchess Hardwoods. Both our new hardwood floors (upstairs) and the refinishing of our old hardwood floors (downstairs) look outstanding -- and ours was not an easy job to say the least. From a disastrous incident with a previous contractor -- Mike came in and remedied the situation, resulting in new floors and finishes that surpassed even my husband and my picky standards!

Mike is the best! He made me feel right at home in the showroom, which was packed with samples. He had the expert advice I needed -- I didn't realize how much I didn't know until we started talking about details. I was able to take home samples and see exactly how things would look before pulling the trigger. Because of Mike, my carpet came out better than I ever expected, and the price even came in under my budget! Can't recommend Mike & Northern Dutchess enough.
