MacPherson & Company focus has always been on glass for industry since we started in 1965. The company history extends back to 1936 to Mr. Kenneth E. MacPherson Senior, the father of both Kenneth E. Jr. and Bruce M. MacPherson. Senior started All Weld Co, a steel fabrication company, in Cleveland, OH.
MACPHERSON Engineered Window Systems for safety protection feature fixed and rolling sash designs with either mild or stainless steel in thicknesses of 1/2", 3/8", 1/4", 3/16", or 1/8". Our sales staff will help you determine your requirements based on the environmental concerns of heat and hot metal reactions.
In 1976, at J&L Steel Company (now LTV Steel Company) in Cleveland, Ohio, a test was conducted using our 7/8 SAFE-SHIELD and other products. The test consisted of mounting the windows into a box placed below the slag pit trough and molten slag poured on to the glass. Pictured above is our SAFE-SHIELD Glass just after a dumping of 2900° F. slag.
