Poncha Lumber originally came into existence in 1960 as Knotty Pine Lumber and was located behind the Jackson Hotel in Poncha Springs. In 1999, Poncha Lumber was purchased by the Chelf brothers, Dave and Steve, with their vision to expand Poncha Lumber from a small lumber yard into a full service building center. In 2004, the new lumber yard was built on Highway 50, allowing Poncha Lumber to grow into the operation it is today. The expanded yard and full line hardware store occupy 3-1/2 acres and 13,000 sq.ft.

Expensive as hell but absolutely not the store's fault. The cost of plywood and all wood at the present time is high, but at least the employees were friendly and had a great sense of humor.

This store is well stocked with hardware for the do-it-yourself folks as well as contractors. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The store is conveniently located on US 50 in Poncha Springs.

Bought some tongue and groove pine from here. It laid flat in my basement for two months. Started to use it this past weekend and the wood was so warped it looked like a dog's hind leg. Poncha Lumber said they would not take it back! DON'T BUY ANYTHING HERE! They don't stand behind their products even for repeat long time customers!

Consistently nice and helpful folks, from the counter staff to the yard and delivery guys, myself and my partner are really limited in our building, construction knowledge but these folks make it much easier

Well in all actuality I wouldn't even give any stars. My boyfriend called them and was quoted a price for some lumber and he worked up his bid for a job based on the price quoted. Our bid for job was accepted when we called to order lumber they told us that the employee told us the wrong price and per piece the price now is $10 more per piece. We asked if they would honor their quote and after speaking to management they said no. Needless to say this is super poor taste and horrible business practices!

We will never use them or refer them to anyone we know. Sad because this transaction could've lead to many more transactions but poor management equals no transactions! Vdisappointed

Although I don't do much home repair or refurbishing, Poncha Lumber always has what I need in stock! From plywood & all accessories needed to build a ramp for my aged dog, to insulator board to skirt the trailer. The service is impeccable! Even the new personnel provide great service. When a complex issue arrises, I know I get directed towards the proper supplies to fix my problem. Prices are decent considering the location. Competitive, yet no worry of undertrained staff due to bargain basement prices reducing labor wages. Always friendly & fast service. This is my go to for home repair supplies. No need to travel the canyon to Pueblo for most supplies.
