Josh was very helpful in selecting a hardwood for a threshold that would match our existing flooring when stained. Then, without costing too much, agreed to plane it, make a rabbet, and shear off the angles to make it look like a threshold. I was more than impressed with the outcome and how well it fit. He is my go to for all hardwood and live edge needs for the future.

Bought some coco bolo several years ago for a sheild i was carving, excellent service. Went in there last summer and picked up a nice peice or figured mahogany, again excellent service. Ill be visiting in the next couple weeks to pick up some more mahogany. It's nice to know when ever i come to Freestate the service and product are going to be top notch.

We were impressed with the incredible wood at Freestate Timbers. We bought two planks for floating shelves that when they finished looked far better than usual ones at Ikea or Home Depot. Josh also recommended a cabinet maker in his complex who hung the shelves perfectly. This store is heads and shoulders over other lumber stores we visited - highly recommend if you want beautiful wood, knowledgeable staff and great service.

Free State has an excellent and extensive choice of woods. I was very surprised at the selection and very surprised by the honest and fair prices. Quality of wood, selection and prices are far far superior to my previous go to place for wood projects (WC). Free State will be my only supplier for quality woods for my projects in the future.

Very very nice guy and amazing selection of wood. Amazing live edge slabs, exotics and domestics. Compared to other places, his boards are stored very neatly and most are not as warped and bowed as other places. Prices are excellent too. He doesn't gouge despite being located right off art. 83 in Timonium.
