An Attic Radiant Barrier system is commonly used to reduce summer heat gain and winter heat loss in new building construction or retrofit in order to improve comfort, lower conditioning and heating costs and prolong the life of HVAC systems. Attic radiant heat barriers work by blocking or reflecting UV heat that would otherwise cause temperatures to rise in the bounded open-air space(s) in the attic.
Fi-Foil's Silver Shield is an insulation cover sheet composed of multiple layers of low emittance (low-e) materials designed to significantly reduce radiant heat transfer. The inside layer is a metalized polymer, while the outside layer is reinforced aluminum foil kraft paper, bonded with a fire retardant adhesive.
Fi-Foils Radiant Shield is a heavy duty two-sided aluminum radiant barrier. Designed and reinforced with woven polyethylene, it provides industrial strength for any Radiant Barrier application. The product is also designed with perforations to allow vapor transmission. In a home without a radiant barrier at the roofline, your roof radiates solar-generated heat, which elevates attic temperatures upward to 150 degrees or higher.
HY-Fi insulation is a cutting-edge hybrid product providing a cost-effective approach to creating high R-value walls. The HY-Fi insulation system combines low emittance surfaces and enclosed air spaces. When used in combination with traditional insulation, such as fiberglass batts or spray foam, it creates a superior insulating system at an unmatched price point.
