Economy Lumber

This is the best place for quality lumber. You can spend an hour sorting through 100 sticks at the big box and hope to find 10 acceptable pieces or you can pay a little bit more and know that 95 percent of the pieces don't even need a second look to know they are excellent quality. I have picked up from the yard and placed some larger orders that were delivered.

Every piece was at least good and the large majority were very good to excellent. They also have a large supply of Simpson hangers and other building materials in stock. Save yourself some time and headaches by paying a little more and knowing that the quality is so much better. Most of the customers are contractors but anyone can purchase here. I've witnessed them being very helpful and patient with customers who are not contractors. Check them out.

Sales helped find the type of wood needed to refinish a cabinet and staff helped with the rest.

I'm a newbie doing a DIY project and had a bunch of questions. I got a lot of good advice from Joseph who helped me select the wood and cut it with a smile. All done in less than 15 minutes at a very reasonable price. A big box could never come close to level of service and attention to detail. Will be coming back! They charged my contractor $5.74 per LF for the WR Cedars! The same item can be found for ~$1.7 per LF in Lowes or Home Depot. I can't comment on the quality (they look good so far) but the price seems extremely off.

Great company, solid inventory of items, such as simpson products. They always have in stock, items that others dont. Dont waste your time running around, these guys have it. Exceptional quality lumber and availability. The guys at the counter are very knowledgeable. Their help will save you time and $, getting things right the first time. They know what questions to ask to ensure you get what you need and more.

Ask for Mike Brock, he's a pro's pro. All the guys at the counter are top notch. I can't say enough about how they partner with you to get your job done right. They go above and beyond to work with you to get your materials on time to keep your projects rolling.

I ordered heart redwood for delivery and most of it was marked or damaged in some way. It seemed as if the material that I received had come from the bottom of a very old pile as it was pretty beat up or warped. Fortunately I was still able to use the wood with some staining and hiding of the damaged parts. IMO, don't purchase wood from here that you have not checked/selected yourself. Also, the ordering process was surprisingly difficult. I have had better experiences elsewhere.

I recently purchased approximately 150 pieces of lumber for an addition at my residence. Overall, the prices are competitive, the customer service was great, , and the free delivery went smooth. BUT the lumber quality was poor. At least 10% of my wood had damage, warping, spliting/cracking, and black stains (hoping it's not mold).

Very customer friendly and conscious of COVID protocols. We felt safe and respected. Jack was super helpful and explained all our options even though we have a small order.

I have been looking for some quality Redwood to make an outdoor patio table. The big box stores serve a purpose. But quality lumber in off sizes is impossible to find. A couple weeks ago I walked into Economy Lumber. I've known about them for decades but never bothered to go into the place. I am soooo glad I did. The fella at the counter was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about what I was asking for.

He worked fast and wrote up the order. When I went out to the yard, the lumber was loaded very fast. After one 4x4 was loaded, the fella that loaded it saw a crack on one end that was so small I wouldn't have seen. He replaced it with a much better 4x4. All the wood was of great quality. I made the table and it's absolutely amazing looking. Thank you Ecomony Lumber

Didn't know this place existed until a week ago. Being a newbie DIYer, Home Depot and Lowes didn't have a specific size I needed, so I was forced to Google how to get it. These guys were up there on the list that I found and they are local in the south bay, great! I first emailed and got good customer service from John. I went in to do the order and the whole process was easy as can be.

Since it was my time here I didn't know the process and everyone I dealt with was super helpful. Also, I felt very comfortable with the Covid restrictions they had. temperatures at the door, limited people, one way in and out, etc. Last but not least, even though I'm a newbie, I felt the prices were very competitive. Screw Home Depot, I'm coming here from now on!

I have lived in Campbell since 1986. Drive by this place on a regular basis but have never thought about utilizing until today and I am SO GLAD I DID! I needed a piece of plywood cut. During COVID I have to be extra careful and they made it so easy! I told Mike D. what I needed and everything was completed over the phone. Received a call that it was ready and BOOM!.I drove up, associate waited on me. Gave me receipt, loaded into car and off I went.

Will DEFINITELY utilize again! Oh yeah, I went the wrong way upon entering and a very nice gentleman driving the forklift gave me explicit instructions to the entrance. Economy Lumber.you've got my vote!

Ordered redwood construction heart lumber for 1.5x over the Home Depot price as the sales guy told me their lumber is of a much superior grade. Just look at the pictures to see what got delivered. Had to waste time and money returning it to the store, original payment got refunded but nobody even apologized for the wasted time or offered to solve the problem in any way. How are they still in the business with these prices, quality and client service?

Hmm, I am surprised that Economy lumber has such good reviews. I got some wood from economy lumber last week. Most of the wood were either bent or kinda chipped. Now my beams on my pergola is bent. Sucks. I had no other option to just buy whatever they had in stock. I would not recommend economy lumber, pinecone lumber is better. UPDATED: I gave another star because the owner JD was really helpful. He worked with me directly to understand the issue and tried to fix the issue. I appreciate the honesty and willingness to work with the customer. Thanks JD.

These guys know their sh*t! They are so helpful, all the wood is straight you don't need to play any games. They all wear their masks as are supper professional. They answer all your questions if you are not a professional, so much better with us than their competitors. Helped us with our order, made sure we understood everything. They load the truck right off the racks fabulous!

Just meh. I was apprehensive about using a lumber yard for my small project, but wanted to 1) support a local business & 2) not give Lowes or HD any of my money. There are 2 things I'll give 5 stars to: - Quality product - Fred. Fred was awesome. Wish he was the only person I dealt with. Things I give 2 stars to: - Everyone else - Responsiveness The guy that brought our order out had serious attitude before we ever spoke a word to him. I'm certainly not looking for a hug from a dude working in a lumber yard, but common courtesy would have been appreciated. Fred should hold a lunch and learn with the rest of the staff on how to talk to customers.

Tons of construction material. You can drive right to what you need for easy loading. During these COVID times they are doing better than most places in terms of taking public health and worker safety into account, though it would be nice if all their public facing employees wore masks. As it is, about half are wearing masks, which is helpful. But it sure does seem like one sick person and the rest of the crew will have it before anyone shows any symptoms and the whole place will have to shut down, and every customer that has been there is the past two weeks will have to go into quarantine.

But it's lots better than Home Depot these days, which is just a joke in terms of health and safety. I already know one person who died from COVID and others who have gotten sick, so businesses that make an effort to prevent more death and sickness get a thumbs up and more business from me, for sure. So Economy Lumber is doing better than most and that's great. I'll happily use their online ordering system and quick response time from their customer service people via email again when I need more material. Heck, if they had more hard woods, we'd use them for our furniture builds, too, but, as it is, their construction material is plentiful and accessible.

They are a bit overly militaristic with the COVID-19 stuff. It's like these guys haven't been to Home Depot recently, where everybody is walking around freely. And I'm told to get back in my truck if I want to go see what they're doing while they're loading my material. A little common sense would go a long ways.

I have gone to economy lumber for years and just thought about the fact that I've never left them a a well-deserved 5-star review. Their service and quality products are always excellent. I just picked up a load for a job that I've been working on. They have already on day one implemented the best protocol 4 being respectful to their customers, social distancing, continuing to give excellent service, and doing all the right stuff to prevent contact with the public and with each other. This is a model for how all businesses should be operating right now. Great job!

Good selection, reasonable prices, efficient operation. Fred and Greg P. were quite helpful on my first trip for raised bed materials. This is clearly a commodity/industrial yard but those gentlemen got me pointed in the right direction and helped out the new guy by cutting the boards down for me. This is really a framing and construction yard, might take a bit to pick out the prettier wood for a home job.

I was hoping for some nice plywood but you can't have everything! I just wish I didn't have to go back to Aura. I'm pleased with the heartwood redwood I picked out for a job; I'll definitely be coming back. Thanks again, Freddy & Greg!

Went to a few lumber yards - and this place not only had great prices and quality wood, but their customer service was also fantastic. Both Mike's helped me find some really great cedar for my pergola -- I would highly recommend Economy Lumber

High quality material, great service, and good people. Only 4/5 because material is priced for quality, not exactly economy. Not the cheapest stuff around, but definetly top notch quality lumber.

I had a great experience here! I am attempting to build a basketball backboard for my son and Mike consulted with me on what type of wood would be best. He took my small job very seriously and with incredible amounts of integrity. Also amazing was the customer service from Eva. She is kind and very helpful. This place is old school awesome! I have a lot of respect for this fine business.

Excellent customer service at the registers. Very friendly and helpful even to a mother getting a small something for a home project. Dillon was so nice and helpful and cut me extra pieces without charging me. They asked me what the wood was for and since it was for furniture were very selective on the piece they chose. Etc.etc. Just an all around positive experience.

Its a bit intimidating if your not a contractor in here, but they have the lumber we needed at a good price. Very helpful in loading the stuff into our pick-up and gave us a red flag cause it was too long. The guys were pretty friendly, but seemed annoyed when my bf didn't know something about the wood he was buying.

A decent lumber yard: a clean, well organized, safe yard where you can get lumber Home Depot doesn't carry. This is a store for pros. It's not a retail outlet where you can browse the racks. It's not a hardware store, either, although they have an extremely limited selection of hardware. Don't know where the economy part is. Prices are no cheaper than Home Depot on most things, but they have sizes that Home Depot doesn't carry.

And they can custom order lumber, or custom mill lumber for special repair jobs, like siding and trim. Staff is always courteous and helpful. Best time to hit them is mid-morning, after the jobbers are gone; otherwise, you will have to wait a few minutes to be helped.
