Frantz Art Glass was started by Mike & Patricia Frantz in the 1990's. In those days there were few beadmakers in the US, but Pat was one of them. Mike was buying glass rods directly from Effetre (at that time named Moretti) for Pat's use. Then one day an article was written about the Frantz's in Ornament magazine and as Mike recalls: "the phone started ringing and the rest was history!". It turns out there were many beadmakers in the US that were looking for glass rods and Mike had found a great source to supply their needs.

We couldn't be happier with the level of customer service and the ease of ordering from Frantz. Quick email responses, knowledgeable people to call when you have questions, and our recent order came perfectly, (30 plus pounds of dozens of different colors, nothing missing, nothing broken.) We are very happy to call them our supplier of color and supplies for both torch and furnace working.

If you have the chance to stop in at the store, do it! I'm new to lamp working and had a ton of questions. I felt like I should have paid just for the information I got! I felt like I was in flame working 101. I was amazed by the huge selection of glass and was very happy to find the discount bin, which I feel is great to experiment with colors and getting the feel of working with glass, without buying the more expensive rods, not yet knowing how to use them. This place is great! Keep up the good work guys!

I ordered HEAVY WALL TUBING. but got what the industry calls standard wall tubing.my order was delivered 5days later than the estimate on the website suggested and when i called to get the tubing issue resolved I was told, by the owner himself, that they did nothing wrong and they refused to take care of it in a professional manner. even though the order CLEARLY stated that i was ordering HEAVY WALL Tubing. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I have been working in glass for over 15 years, I think I know what heavy wall tubing is! Sending it back. and I will NEVER do business with Frantz again. BE CAREFULL!

A great place to buy tools and stock for hot glasswork. They carry soft and hard glass, torches and all sorts of marvers and picks and such. Friendly staff and a huge store with reasonable prices. Used to order from them online, but going in person is just much more interesting and satisfying, and they're very generous with customers, often doling out free scrap pieces and with very good prices on boxes of scrap and discontinued rod.
They also sell tube glass and large cane for scientific and giant-sized glasswork. Strangely-located and a little hard to find (even the entrance is obscure), but well worth the trip.
