Services
Bud and Papa Ricci opened Ricci Lumber when they could not find a reliable lumber and masonry supplier for their construction company, Ricci Construction Company, Inc. (established in 1935). At first, the company primarily sold brick, blocks and bagged mortar and cement. A short time later, with the urging of their customer base, they added lumber and plywood materials to complement the masonry store.
Let Ricci Lumber be your one-stop-shop in making your next project easier to manage. We take pride in our outstanding service and the variety of products we offer. No matter what you need to build or repair, we are here to help you. A family owned and operated business since 1957, our reputation is helping customers create their dream.

I highly recommend Ricci Lumber for kitchen cabinets - and especially Billie Senzek as a designer. Ricci Lumber carries a few brands, all of which are highly rated. Billie was absolutely amazing as a designer. She came up with a wonderful design that worked perfectly to fit in our "wish list". She was so patient with answering questions and making minor tweaks based on our discussions.
The price was exactly where I expected to be for the quality of the cabinets. Billie is a recommended designer per a popular website that completes reviews of kitchen cabinets. She is the only one north of Boston listed on this website. They even provide windows, doors, counters, and lumber. One stop shop!

There aren't enough superlatives and kind words available to adequately describe the exceedingly professional quality of service that the folks at Ricci Lumber deliver. Alan our project manager was amazing from start to finish with follow-up and follow-through as was Melinda in the design phase of our small project. Though our project was somewhat limited in scope we never felt as though it was not important to the folks at Ricci.
Their sincerity and dedication in their mission shown through with the dedicated craftsmanship put forth by Derek and his on-site crew who treated our home with the utmost of care, respect, and kindness. Derek and his team went above and beyond for us and the pride they take in their work and the skill with which they deliver is evident with the finished product for which we could not be more pleased with. Their efforts have ensured that we will be customers for life and I highly recommend Ricci Lumber for your home project.

My company reviews cabinet dealers and kitchen designers from across the United States. We were very impressed with the design work done by Billie Senzek and her professionalism. Finding a talented kitchen designer that has the customer's best interest at heart is difficult. This is why thousands of people ask us for recommendations each year. Adding Billie and Ricci to our list will be a great reference for the people visiting our website looking for a cabinet dealer and kitchen designer that they can trust near Portsmouth.

I have not ordered a lot of stuff from Ricci lumber, but if you need any building materials this is the place to go. There was a little hiccup with my order that was suppose to be delivered it was a little late and a small problem with my order but they went above and beyond to rectify it. Best customer service I have ever had from any hardware/ lumber yard ever!

I've never been to Ricci lumber. I'm the lead carpenter at Boston Ship Repair. About a year ago I got my first lumber order from Ricci lumber, and it was all quality stock. From plywood to 2x stock was awesome. The drivers are very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been working with wood for over fifty years. And I must say, if you need lumber Ricci's is where to go.

Nowadays walking into any retail-type establishment can be pretty exhausting. The Best Buys, and Home Depots of the world are massive and basically designed to get you and your wallet lost in their mazes for long enough to drop a couple C-Notes not solve any of your problems. This Ace Hardware is cut from a different cloth. This place has some of the most helpful and customer-friendly staff I've ever encountered. It's so dope, even people who don't work their weigh in on your projects or purchases. Keep on rockin in the free world.

Here's how it works for their hardware store: you walk in, someone immediately greets you, you tell them what you need, and they tell you exactly where it is or in most cases walk you right to it. If there's different choices, they'll explain the differences and if asked, say "if it were me, I'd get this one." Their prices are reasonable, they stand by their product, and if you live in town, their location is great (you can now even stop by the local brew pub next door). It's old-school service and value worth every penny.

Great customer service. I went in with every intent of getting supplies to build a raised vegetable garden. I had a vague idea of what I should be getting but to be honest, I've never gardened at all. The person at the counter detailed what I needed to build the boxes with diagrams and helpful knowledge. He actually drew me diagrams! He told me what types of soil to use, had the wood cut for me for the boxes, and even went as far as to instruct me on the seeds I had purchased. Amazing people here. I now have my first two raised vegetable gardens in the backyard thanks to these guys.

Service! Somebody that asks if they can help you! I like this place for what it's not - it's not a big corporate box store - it's homegrown and it's important I think to support our local businesses - when they earn the business - and Ricci Lumber does in spades. I learned so much about painting from the staff there in terms of tips that painting is not the hellish chore it once was, and when the missus talks about painting a room I no longer run to the garage and hide.
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is price and I'm not sure if its fair to expect them to be the same price as the big boxes, and service is worth paying for, but a dollar is a dollar.

Ricci Lumber is a lumber yard and an Ace Hardware store. But what it really is, is a place to go for things that they don't have at Home Depot and Lowe's. Really, I've found a variety of odd bolts, downspouts, aluminum channel, and other things that I can never find at Home Depot. And the people know what they're talking about. I'm not saying that no one at Home Depot knows anything, but there's a difference.
The pipefitter who's working as a Home Depot as a greeter is a nice guy and I wish him all the best, but the guy at Ricci who knows where every obscure nut and bolt is located does me more good. I haven't compared the prices. I doubt if Ricci is cheaper, but my guess is that they're similar in prices and frequently after I go to Home Depot, I have to stop at Ricci anyway.
