In 1922, William Launder VanderWall founded VanderWall Brothers with a little machinery and a lot of hard work. William wanted to offer quality products with excellent customer service. He recognized that a superior product would be more reliable, last longer, and be more cost efficient in the long run. The company's offerings have expanded over time from concrete blocks and pavers, to a wide variety of stone products, and fireplace products, most of which are built here in America. The ideals William held almost 100 years ago still ring true today.

Our team of professional fireplace installation service providers have seen it all. We've installed beautiful, unique fireplaces for decades. We've seen every challenge and perfected the art of making your dream fireplace come alive. Gas fireplaces are growing in popularity. Today's models are very efficient and can add a great deal of warmth to fill a large room. While there is no crackling sound like a wood fireplace they do produce a real flame. The two main types of gas used are propane and natural gas.
Is there any better feeling than being outside when the weather is beautiful? The breeze blowing gently across the grass and hearing the sound of birds singing. The only thing more perfect is being able to have a cold drink in your hand, being with family and friends is sitting around a fire together.

The fireplace system we had installed works fine, although wildly overpriced (as is the case most places) with a remote that looks like a cell phone from the 80s. The service people were great, but the office behaves markedly as if they are doing you a massive favor to give you their service. for which you are paying through the nose! Nothing unprofessional or anything, just overwhelmingly unaccommodating in terms of being reached via phone, clarity of communication, and all scheduling issues.
For example (one of many), for days and days I could not reach a human to better understand what would be happening on installation day, and then when I finally got through they acted annoyed and confused why I would want any information about how the installation process would happen (am I waiting for a phone call or a knock on the door, will I have any advanced notice before they arrive, etc.). I didn't feel ripped off or anything (at least not in the context of post-COVID home improvement markets), just vaguely disrespected.

We highly recommend VanderWall Brothers! They are very knowledgeable and professional. Sam was our first contact in their beautiful showroom, and did an excellent job answering our questions, knowing his product extremely well. Dan is an excellent communicator via email and handles invoicing and scheduling very professionally and promptly, with very good and honest pricing. Les is stellar, another excellent communicator, and very professional and knowledgeable in measuring to determine the exact model needed for our home. Sam is superb - he and Andrew did a top notch job installing two fireplaces for us.
We just can't say enough about the entire team - they are AWESOME! We visited 3 other fireplace stores in the west Michigan area and are so glad we chose VanderWall Brothers. The Chaska fireplaces look beautiful and we will enjoy them and their heat for many years to come!

Very pleased with their knowledge of the industry. I recently purchased a home with a gas fireplace that wouldn't light. I called late in the evening, left a message and early the next day Scott(?)returned my call and walked me through how to o-erase the fireplace, all at no charge. He could have easily sent a service technician and charged a fee. I appreciate their honesty and integrity

A local friend told me to go to Vanderwalls for a replacement fireplace. During covid, things were backordered but they kept me updated and I chose to wait for the one I had ordered. Les came today to install it and I couldnt be happier, not only for the service, instructions, and gorgeous fireplace, but doing business through Les was an added bonus.
He is not only professional and efficient but extra careful to make sure things are done right. I love good customer service and working with local businesses. He is an example of the reason why.

Had my fireplace installed in late July. Installation was complete in less than 4 hours. Workers were friendly and competent. After installation, they gave very easy on the spot tutorial. When my pilot light blew out because of high winds, a quick call to them and Scott walked me through the process to restart and it was up and running in minutes. highly recommend this local fireplace store!

We highly recommend VanderWall Brothers for a fireplace upgrade. We have a 90 year old house and our new gas log installation fits perfectly with the look of our fireplace. Dan was great answering our questions, as well as a seamless install by Les, we couldn't have been happier with the process. We appreciated the selection of the different logs they had in the showroom to help us get the right look. Our fireplace is going to be used a lot more now : Thanks so much for everything.
