I shopped all the nearby stores for composite decking materials for my project. One store tried talking me into materials that I did not want. The next store was significantly higher priced. The Deck Store took the time to explore installation options with me, took the time to match material color to my home and gave recommendations on how to install the decking.
This alone sold me on purchasing my materials from The Deck Store. They then created a material list for me. During the project I went back several times to discuss installation issues I was having. Each time I received a thorough explanation of alternate approaches to my problems. When I needed just a little bit more of one material I was guided to their "scrap" storage and we found just what I needed to complete the project - all at no charge.
When I brought back the few excess pieces I had they readily accepted the returns and credited my account. The Deck Store was always available to answer my questions (during regular business hours) and can be credited with the success of our DIY project.

Everyone knows that projects can take a while to complete and delays occur All The Time. Its not always in the owners control, yet this place wont take back spare unused uncut board after just 30 days. Their excuse is that because they don't stock that particular length of board in their store, they cant return it. As if its the customers fault for picking a length of board that they don't keep in stock and as if its impossible for them to send it back to their warehouse.
Its a fairly Common Trex board too not some obscure product. Now Im stuck with 9 completely unused boards worth about $350 that they wont return and that I have been trying to sell to someone else for months but no one else will buy because who wants just eight random boards.

Was told early on that I could definitely return decking. I explicitly asked because I wanted to order extra. They would not take my unused boards back and accused me of not reading return policy close enough. The person in the back office I spoke with was very rude. Now I have $900 worth of wood that I can't sell online because who wants 5 deck boards of different lengths and two colors?

This is a five start review for a 5 star company. You don't need to be afraid to purchase anything from the deck store online folks. IMO, in order for a review to be meaningful it has to include all aspects of the purchasing and support experience. This review is no exception. First and foremost, anyone will gladly take your money then make you wait, and wait, and wait some more to receive your order, but not these folks.
My order was shipped and received within 5 days of placing it. Secondly, while you hope you never need to experience "after the sale support", it is good to know that the folks at the deck store stand behind everything they sell. For me, that meant dealing with a faulty Trex Hub/Splitter. After calling the support number and being told to also email a request to their support team asking to have the failed splitter replaced, I received an email in less than 30 minutes letting me know that a new splitter was being shipped out the same day!
While it may not sound like replacing a $6.50 part is a big deal, it's important to note how that "little $6.50 part" can hold up a $13,000.00 project. Yeah, you read that right. If the lights don't work then the project isn't done until they do. These folks helped me keep the project on schedule.

Excellent Customer Service! I ordered over $1300 worth of decking materials that arrived promptly. When I received my order, I noticed that one of the TREX 4x4 post sleeves had a crack at one of the corners. I noticed this on the weekend and I sent The Deck Store an email and pictures showing the damaged item. First thing Monday morning, The Deck Store reached out to me, apologized and informed me that they would immediately ship out a replacement post sleeve.
I immediately received a tracking number and promptly received the replacement. I received the replacement on Saturday due to weather issues. I opened the box of the new sleeve and the corners of the new sleeve were smashed. This damage obviously occurred during shipping and handling. I again emailed The Deck Store and first thing Monday they responded and again apologized.
I told them that I did not blame them for the damaged sealed TREX item and they immediately sent out another replacement. No questions asked. I received the replacement in perfect condition on Friday. Their customer service was excellent, and their prices were reasonable compared to their competitors.

Easy to deal with, zero pressure sales. They sell top-of-the-line products at a good price. Many compliments on the final product. The deck is great for sitting outside and contemplating life, past Decisions and future. You can also sit on the deck and eat food, very nice. And have a cocktail if you choose it is very good for that. Highly recommend the low-voltage lights. Having them with a key fob dimmer and photocell is slick. Perfect amount of light for nighttime deck use.

I would stay away from this place. I ordered railing parts and they sent me two different colors. As the installers came the next day the package arrived, I had to go out and buy the parts at a local home deopt which required me to get parts that were not as nice as the ones I wanted. To add insult to injury, they refused to send me a return label, which cost me $50 AND they charged me a 10% restocking fee to take back the incorrect shipment. Thankfully I charged it on my AMEX card, who will take care of it for me.
