This is the tile shop for honest, helpful design advice. I have been shopping here for all my projects since 2011 and I have yet to walk into this shop and not be met with friendly and professional customer service. They give functional suggestions such as.you might want to consider 2"2" tiles for you curbless shower floor to avoid slipping, even though you chose a tile with surface texture as shampoos make tiles more slippery.
The tiles they carry are quality. Its a smaller shop, so I took one star off as their selection is a bit less than some other places in that area. But I highly recommend stopping in, especially if you need design advice.

We strongly discourage future consumers from doing any business with Tile by Design. We're sharing our experience so that other consumers do not find themselves being taken advantage in the way that we have been. Tile by Design does not disclose either in writing, verbally, or on their website if specific tile is special order/non-refundable. When we placed the order for our tile, we specifically asked if the 10% overage in square footage was returnable.
A Tile by Design employee told us that it was in fact returnable. Additionally, none of the paperwork we receive, including the receipt, said that the tile was special order/non-refundable. After receiving the tile, we discovered that it was full of scratches, divots, pin holes, air bubbles, and chipped edges. When attempting to return the tile, they would not accept.
They told us the only way we could return the tile was if we paid for a shipping and restocking fee, which resulted in 40% of the overall purchase. We even offered to share the return costs by suggesting 20% each and they refused. Their lack of integrity for both the quality of their product and treatment of their customers is unacceptable. We encourage all consumers to take your business elsewhere.

Pretentious and rude are the first words that come to my mind, which is unfortunate. They have a fantastic selection of tile, but will settle on going to another tile shop, on principle alone. Victoria should not have a job where she interacts with people. However, I can't say the other sales assistants were any better. No one needs to feel unwelcome or have the sales associate imply you can't afford their tile. She had no idea my budget. While a few thousand is a drop in the bucket for them-it is still not appropriate to dismiss potential clients.

I'm constantly working on projects for multiple rental properties and while I had a good first impression with their selection, once I left their store I had multiple occasions where nobody was getting back to me about pricing and availability. So, unfortunately, I gave up and now go somewhere else for my tile needs. What a strange and disappointing experience!
