Oren Plastering specializes in finding plaster solutions for interior and exterior finishes. Our mission is to provide the highest quality service, products and installations in the Southwestern Ohio area. This website is intended to educate the public about plaster and showcase a sample of our company's capabilities. These include traditional plasters-exterior and interior, acoustic plasters, commercial fireproofing, panelization, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), as well as ornate, decorative cast plaster for interior and exterior.
Services
Jim Oren founded James C. Oren & Associates in 1953, drawing from the experience he had gained while working with his father, Ira Oren, who had been trained in plastering during the Depression. For the first few years, the business centered on residential plastering, until Jim signed with the union in order to grow the business through commercial projects.
Oren Associates was owned by Ken Oren, who is a part-time minister. When he decided to concentrate on his ministry, Carol Oren, the sister who owns Oren Fab & Supply, got together with some of the employees of Oren Associates. The group started a new entity with the same goal: quality work and prompt, friendly service.
EIFS are used for insulating and waterproofing buildings. The new building codes call for Continuous Insulation, which EIFS is perfectly designed to accomplish. It is like putting your building in a Styrofoam cooler. It protects from thermal loss, thermal damage to the structure, and mold and mildew issues.
Plastering is one of the most ancient building handicrafts. Historical evidence shows primitive man plastered mud over a framework of sticks and reeds that served as protective structure against the elements. It is known that plasterwork, and the decoration upon it, was applied more than 4,000 years ago.
