Carroll's Building Materials

I've always gone to Carroll's for my landscaping needs which are mostly rock/stone. My most recent interaction with Ken Smith was great as he was professional, cheerful, on time, called ahead and just a joy to interact with. Cody was my contact person in the office and handled everything very professionally. I always appreciate Carroll's and love visiting their place. It's always an adventure to find rocks for my garden and I always end up spending less than I think I will. Prices are very affordable!

For bulk rock, they are the only game in town and they know it. As a consumer (not one of the many business that purchase from Carroll's), I had a load of rock sold out under from under me twice. Only after calling every day for over 2 weeks were we finally able to secure the amount we wanted. Our landscaper literally followed the truck through the loading process to ensure that it didn't get sold before we got it. What should have taken 1 week took 2 months! Thankfully our landscaper was very flexible and easy to work with (and did a great job!).

Robert Ellis, delivery man, is great. He called when he was supposed to let me know when he was five minutes out accommodated dumping in two different spots without trampling our lawn. Very pleasant, competent, and very accommodating. Front office didn't call to schedule delivery of mulch as indicated, I had to call several times. Happy with ultimate deliver portion of experience but not everything leading up to it.

Ken did an awesome job delivering my shell order. I asked if he could put it in the backyard and he put it exactly where I directed. Good service. Will order from them again.

These guys are great! I took a friend that had a very small home project. It was only 6 Sq ft in size. I warned him in advance that these guys are used to large commercial wholesale orders, so don't be surprised if we get snubbed or brushed off. NOTHING could be further from the truth! Everyone we talked to were friendly and helpful. Clint walked over to assist with no prompt other than our bewildered looks.

He understood what we needed, explained the amount and cost and helped us make a decision between several types of stone/rock. As we went to pay, the man behind the counter was very nice and directed us as to the pickup procedure. The forklift driver was friendly and talkative and loaded the car for us. EVERYTHING was top drawer service and wonderful prices! Do not hesitate to use this fantastic place!

Wow! Great price, quality materials, nice office staff and amazing delivery. Shout out to Ken with his friendly demeanor and impressive skill. Highly recommend.

Thanks guys! Another great concrete pour for Legion Construction. Steven, Jake, and Chase all did an excellent job! Only recommendation would be to get these guys a remote for the pump. Would have helped tremendously with our pour & spillage.

We've used Carroll's 3 times now and have yet to be disappointed. Great communication, great service, and great materials. Also want to give a big shout out to the our delivery man, Ken. Ken is very friendly and always makes sure we are satisfied with the delivery. We have a narrow driveway and he is always able to get our materials placed where we need it. Thank you Carroll's and thank you Ken! We'll definitely be returning customers!

1/22/2022. Carroll's is a great, local place with a ton of rock options. When we went in, we had a lot of questions and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. HOWEVER, on delivery day, we met Ken. He did an amazing job delivering our limestone rock that we ordered. The people in the office provided a different estimated time, but Ken made sure to contact us before he loaded the truck and when he was on his way.

It was very considerate & now we are happy that it wasn't delivered after 12, but before 9! Ken helped us to dump the 10 yards of rock in our alleyway area and he was mindful of the fencing door (something we hadn't even thought of in the moment). We are very happy! When we have another delivery, we will definitely request for Ken to deliver our materials. 10/10 recommend Carroll's for a St. Pete local.

DO NOT USE CARROLL'S! Carroll's did a concrete pour at my house. They were extremely unprofessional and an absolute mess. Seems like they tried harder to make a mess than to do the actual job. Worst part is they spilled concrete into my neighbors driveway on his pavers! They spilled concrete all over my street (completely missing the 10x10 plastic sheeting they placed to prevent messes), street gutters, backyard, side yard and even emptied their hoses into my plants and shrubs.

The other subcontractors made it a point to pull me a side and tell me they were done and the mess was from Carroll's. Took Carroll's a week to come out when everything was dried. Carroll's claimed they tried to clean the street but if they did it was a very poor job. I ended up having to get a high power pressure washer and we spent about 16 hours combined to clean up Carroll's mess.

The general manager Brian acknowledged the mess but would not get me in touch with the Carroll's owner or the owner refused to respond to me. Have been using Mullins concrete since this incident and much more satisfied. Please give Mullins concrete a call for your concrete needs. We have pictures and video of the mess Carroll's made on my street will try to upload.
