In his late teens, Gary began his industry career with Fyfe Smith Hardwoods, a company which had its beginnings importing hardwood lumber on Canada's West Coast in the early 1900's. Gaining experience in all facets of distribution, Gary began his career servicing customers in the warehouse, order desk, outside sales and over time, progressed into leadership and management roles.

Our GC told us that if we couldn't find a laminate with the finish we were looking for at the first establishment he recommended then we should check out McKillican American (MA). Finding something in stock is more important than finding something perfect and having to ship it due to timing of renovations. MA was easy to find and they have a private lot to park in.
The showroom is closed due to COVID-19 so you have to walk into the warehouse to get assistance. There is a buzzer if you don't see anyone. The place is huge and they have a large selection of building supplies. We found one finish we were looking for at the first establishment but they didn't have the second finish we wanted which was a glossy white laminate.
A matte white would normally be ok but the side board we just purchased from INspiration has a glossy white finish that we wanted to match. Fortunately MA had several glossy white laminate 4 x 8 boards in stock. They were quite a bit more in cost than the first establishment but we needed it so we picked up 4 as instructed by our GC. This is a viable option when you need building supplies.

Lose Money this place. I went to get some hindges for my lazy susan cabinet doors. They sold me a set, come to find out it didnt fit. When i went to return it, i notice they charge me a fuel & stocking fee when i bought it.(1st lose money). When i got there i was the only customer there. The lady behind the desk seem mad i was returning it.(2nd lose money).
I told her it didnt fit. It took about 20 minutes for me to get my refund. Then they tell me i lose 25% of my refund for restocking fee.(3rd and final lose money). What BS! The hindges dont even come in package, and it cost 25% of my refund to put it back on shelf. Thank God i didnt buy a bunch of hindges, like i was planning. SO MUCH HIDDEN FEES!

I needed to replace my counter tops. The usual hardware chains could not help me. My contractor recommended them so off we went. I had no appointment, i just walked in and asked for white countertops. They showed me to the back and I was able to pick the color and shine to match. In less than 30 minutes we were out of there with a new countertop. Super quick!
They also have organization cabinets or pretty much anything you need to customize and upgrade your kitchen and home cabinetry. On another instance, I called and asked to see if they had the same countertop i purchased weeks before. They were able to have it cut and ready for me in an hour. Love the fast customer service and the friendly local vibe. If you are looking for countertops this is the place to go.
