I went in search of replacement burners for my grill and they don't carry ANY burners, not even generic adjustable ones. Seemed odd given how specialized the store is (bbq grills, smokers, and accessories) and the fact that this falls squarely within that specialty. Few parts wear out on bbq grills; this is one of them. Given the other reviews, I'm sure this place is good if you happen to want what they want to sell.

'round about this time last year, I was looking to earn that punch in my Texas card: brisket. I wandered into the mercantile by chance, but quickly realized that this was no casual encounter. I was looking for an offset smoker, and they had just the thing, perfectly seasoned, almost taunting me that I had not yet already bought it. With the help of their detailed knowledge of my concerns (crappy offsets, uneven heating, variable outcomes), I came to my senses and made one of the best decisions of my life.
I had about 15 minutes of fantastic orientation when I got to pick up my smoker. 1 - how to build the fire; 2 - how to set the flow; 3 - how to leave it the hell alone. Fast forward one year. Brisket? like butter. Chicken? tender, juicy, flavor off the charts. Ribs? Falling apart. Pork Butt? too easy. All with no crutch, no mop, no wrap, no oven. Meat, seasoning, and smoke are the only tools I need. They fully got me to the point where I can look at a new cut and a long smoke and not even think twice about being afraid to serve it to guests. 100% recommended.

I stopped into BBQ Mercantile to stock up on some wood, sauces, and other supplies and I was so pleased to find how knowledgeable Kathy was about all things barbeque! I received some much needed information on proper smoking techniques and totally impressed the future in-laws with it over the weekend! Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and tons of BBQ merchandise. Way better than going to a big name brand shop that just has the same old generic stuff.

Went to this store to shop around for some pellet smokers with my dad. Both of the people that own the store, Kathy and her business partner (I am so terrible with names), were very knowledgeable and very helpful. They were very patient and answered every one of our many questions. They feature very well built smokers that are made in North America, not cheapo grills that have outsourced their parts to China. Barbeque Mercantile's selection of accessories, rubs, sauces and other items is larger than I thought it would be. I ended up buying a new smoker from here and will return in the future to support local business by buying all of my wood pellets and other accessories.
