Mees is grounded in the Midwest, where twin brothers, Howard and Stanley Mees founded a ceramic tile contracting business in Cincinnati, OH, in 1937. After 16 years in business, the brothers dissolved their partnership, and Howard A. Mees founded Mees Distributors, Inc., one of the first independently owned tile distributors in the United States. In 1974, Howard moved the business from the original Spring Grove location to the West Fork Rd location, where the corporate business remains today. Mees Distributors then expanded into the surrounding areas, opening a satellite locations in Dayton, Lexington, Louisville, Columbus, and Indianapolis.

I'm a local Interior Designer in town, Mees is one of the least helpful Distributors I've encountered. I've called about products from Manufacturers that are listed on their website, only to get attitude and negative responses that they don't carry those products, then someone hanging up on me without so much as a goodbye. I do not recommend this company, which is unfortunate since there are so few here in town.

I asked Omnicron who had best marble selection, he suggested Mees. I called to ask for address and asked what time open until. Lady told me "they lock the doors at 12pm." I looked to see how far away I was, 20 minutes.drove over and it was 11:52pm when I pulled up and lady was walking out and said, "we are closed." I said I was the one that called and was told noon and she said, "no one is in there, we closed at 11am and lock the doors at 12." Well apparently you locked the doors prior and left earlier than NOON (11:52am). Shameful, I drove from Dayton stopping at a few distributors this Saturday morning.
I know how fast I look and would have been able to determine if you had what I need in less than 10minutes. Lady, hope you had a good day since you have now wasted so much of mine. Giving one star, but would give no stars if could.

The experience started out great. Nice and helpful people and wonderful selection of granite and quartz to choose from. We were working on a short timeline and they were very accommodating. They gave us an estimate (which was considerably more than any other place we had been but they could work within our timeframe) and we paid the nonrefundable deposit.
After the measurements, we received a call and low and behold, a $1200 difference! Of course I was told it was my fault and also the fault of the measurement guy. Plus found out that we were in fact going to have to pay for what they call a wasted space which we were originally told that we only had to pay for what we used. I'm not sure what that would mean normally.
I was informed that I should have known where the seam was going to be? Really? Apparently the seam placement was costing an additional $300-400. Really disappointed and now we are having to pay for the measurement guy to come back out to change where the seam is going to be. Long story short, I feel that we got taken and told my contractor not to recommend them to any more clients.

My mother-in-law had her kitchen remodeled last year in August and she chose her countertops at Mees Distributors. They have such a large selection she had a hard time deciding on a color, but the employees helped her make the decision after changing her mind three times! They were never pushy nor expressed any frustration with her indecisiveness.
They only helped her choose once she asked for their personal option based on the cabinet colors and back splash she already had. She's very happy with the results even after several months and plans to return to Mees Distributors to do her bathroom in the future.
