The Glass Spot is the only public access hot glass studio in the Richmond/central Virginia area. Our main goal is to provide the hot glass experience while bolstering the glass community and glass enthusiasm in general. Family owned and operated since 2007. We are dedicated to creating a space that invites professionals and the general public to be part of our local glass community. The Glass Spot offers several levels of instruction from workshops to intensive courses, and also provides studio rental for advanced glass workers.

Services
We welcome you to arrive 5 -10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, please be aware that we have multiple activities in the showroom + hot shop daily, coming earlier than the suggested time may pose as an interruption. You may send someone in your place (in most cases), if possible please email to give us a heads up.
The Glass Spot will set-up a temporary hot shop at your special event: community gatherings, corporate retreats, birthday parties and more. Watch the process of a bowl, vase, or similar vessel being made from start to finish. A brief history and general info talk is included with the demo, questions welcome throughout.

I've been blowing glass here for several years and I can say with authority that everyone who works here are extremely talented and wonderful human beings. Chris is an amazing teacher, and he brings in some of the world's absolute best artists for the glass intensive classes he runs. If you're a glass artist, or just someone who wants to do one of his ornaments classes you will be welcomed and happy with your experience.

What a wonderful place to make Christmas memories that last. Not only do you get to participate in making the Christmas ornaments (one memory and experience) but you get to take it home after annealing and look at it year after year when you decorate your tree (many many memories) Chris is a true craftsman and his love for glass shows in the caring he takes with every participant.
He staff is always friendly and helpful. We have done this for 6 years now. We look forward to this unique experience every Christmas holiday. Thank you The Glass Spot for giving us this wonderful experience. Look forward to seeing you all next year.

I went with a friend to the class to create glass flowers. The class was a gift from some other friends. It was an amazing experience. The two men running the class were incredibly positive and helpful. They made the class move smoothly. The glass flowers we created looked amazing. It was a great activity at a great price!
