At first, Northwest Lumber was a just a mom & pop hardware store & a supplier of construction-grade plywood & lumber, but over the decades big-box stores started moving in, so Northwest Lumber evolved to become a one-of-a-kind shop that supplies furniture grade hardwoods, cabinet-grade plywood, exotic tone-woods for instrument building & fine woodworking hand tools.
The business is now run by third generation Greeleys & has been in the original location since the very beginning!. We are proud members of the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association.

I discovered Northwest Lumber about 5 years ago, and I haven't gone anywhere else since when I need high quality lumber for making furniture. They're not quite as cheap as your standard big box hardware store, but the quality of the lumber and the level of help and expertise from the employees isn't something you'll find at those big stores. I can't bring myself to make a piece of furniture with bowed boards from a big store. I highly recommend any woodworkers in the area to check this place out.

Made my first visit today and WOW! Great selection and staff very friendly and helpful. If you're new to woodworking, this is a must shop store. I've been buying stuff from the big box stores, but not happy with their products plus no real advice/help available. The staff answered my questions and showed me around. All I was buying today was 1 sheet of plywood, but they treated me as a valued customer. I'll be buying more here going forward. Highly recommend!

Soooo happy I stopped in! What wonderful service & Lucy the dog was so sweet and friendly just like the owner, Ashley! They were kind enough to donate some scrap wood for the Pike Township Educational Foundation Fundraiser coming up in March. I also picked up some scrap Cherry & White Ash for our Green Egg! Please Please Please Shop Local-- You won't be disappointed! Thanks!

As a fledgling woodworker I've searched to find a business, (other than big box stores that sell warped wood), to buy high quality plywood and hardwoods, both domestic and exotic. I found this place. Unbelievable variety of wood and also hand tools. They have numerous live edge slabs too. The staff took time to show me all around the store. If you're a beginner woodworker, or even an advanced woodworker, this place is a great place to go.

Fantastic place with the best lumber prices and quality lumber I could find. I was like a kid in a candy store. This was my first time going to a place that focuses on lumber so I was a little nervous but the staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going here for a my lumber from now on.

Northwest Lumber is a destination. Not only do you have their full attention but the wood selection panders for your own attention with it's diversity and layout. This business it a lost adventure in purchasing products when compared to big bin stores. Why will I continue to shop here? My conversation today explains why. Master Carpenter: Did you get this from Northwest Lumber? Me: Yes. MC: You paid a premium I bet but this is the best piece of poplar I have ever seen. (Sidenote when comparison shopping "premium" means $10 more at a big bin and normal for smaller distributor) This piece of poplar was not selected by me but from the store associates at Northwest. There was stack of boards to be had and our associate selected a premium board from the middle to suit our project. Thanks again Northwest Lumber!

Came in working on some cabinets. Great service - helped us draw out plans, check our math, and help with wood choice. Solid selection of wood. Better prices than a box store for most woods. When Home Depot or Lowes doesn't have the wood you need, it's time to upgrade to this lumber yard. Only negative - $2 for cuts (average prices for a cut are $0.25-.50). Get the wood here and go somewhere else for your cuts - or do it yourself
