Services
The most common material for our seamless cones is stainless steel. With no seam to collect bacteria and cause possible contamination, seamless stainless-steel cones are ideal for sanitary applications. Floturn has standard tooling for the most common 30 degree half angle hopper applications. You can view our standard drawings below. Special modifications to these types of hoppers is no problem for us, just let us know what you need.
Flow forming (which we refer to as "Floturning") differs essentially from metal spinning in that the metal is coldflowed, using tremendous pressure on the forming roller. In addition to controlling section thickness, Floturning improves metal structure in the coldworking process. The Floturning process is an outstanding example of "net-to-size" seamless metalworking.
Floturn offers High Precision CNC Machining. Current capabilities include horizontal, vertical and 5-axis milling as well as turning. Our specialty is taking on aerospace, defense or other high precision projects that require special attention to detail. Floturn can handle all of the outside services required on your project, using outside partners for heat treatment, plating, anodizing, penetrant inspection, etc.
