The sales person gave very good customer service and he was very knowledgeable he worked in the plant section I wish I got his name because he was so helpful to me he helped me pick rocks for my plants. I will definitely shop there again

Jeff helped me so much in the garden center at the Highland location! I really appreciated his guidance for the right plants and pots for my home. And it is always friendly service each time I go.

I always go here instead of a long drive to HD If we value our fuel than this is the place I found exactly what I was searching for I have been their on and off customer for the last 20 yrs. Thanks to all the familiar faces and some of the new ones too

One of the best hardware stores/lumber yards in the LA area. Some of the staff could be more knowledgeable of the products they carry and their location within in the store.

I always love coming to this place. It's a relaxed atmosphere (unlike the chaos that is Home Depot or Lowes). But the best part is the staff! Literally everyone there has gone above and beyond for me making each experience memorable. It's cute too because I notice there's always regulars and they all know each-other by first name. I also appreciate that the staff are so knowledgeable on how to care for plants and take their time to help.

I was expecting that this place was gonna be a bit more expensive then Lowes or Home Depot, I wondered the store for maybe 20 to 30 min before I could get an associate to help me find what I came for. I asked 3 and was ignored finally a very nice gentleman in the paint department helped me out

Anawalt has now lost me as a customer forever I used to frequent the store at least once a week and the quality of service has gone to absolutely zero. I paid the higher prices because it was close to my home. They refused to take back a plant that I had purchased four days earlier. He won't be getting my money ever again

I live very close to this business but their customer service is horrible - most employees there act like they hate their job. They act like I'm doing them a favor! Never going back - I'll drive to Ace and give them my $$$

What are they doing having employees on the floor to help? What is up this easy parking? HOW DARE THEY have everything I need at great prices When they didnt have the spray paint color I needed I literally begged the employee helping me "please dont make me go to Home Depot I hate it there so much" Save your soul. Go here not there.

While it can be a bit confusing to figure out exactly where to go or how to pay, the staff is consistently helpful and the lumber quality is high.

The worst customer service in town. Don't answer the phone (except to immediately hang it up). If you manage to get through they'll put you on hold until you hang up. In store the employees will run away from you. The guys in back despise the public. If they didn't own the lot they'd be out of business ages ago.

Today was my first time in the store. I stopped by to buy mulch, unfortunately they do not sell that. So I decided to checked out the fertilizers. I was greeted by Sandy. He helped me choose a product. He was patient with all my questions and very helpful. I went outside and a young girl answered questions I had about compost. She was very nice and helpful. I will definitely come back and look around the whole store. I didn't have time to check everything out since I was in a hurry.

Great place for almost anything you may need. Great prices, helpful staff and friendly as well. Parking has always been available. Sometimes they sell Venus flytraps:))

My favorite local. Andy and Marvale are extremely helpful if you happen to receive their help. Also I dig their cute decor section. As a finish carpenter, I come here several times a week.

Their lumber system is ridiculous. None of the lumber has prices or information listed, so you have to ask someone for everything. Once you load your wood you can't just pay, you have to go to the desk to get a receipt.but you still can't pay. Then you take your receipt inside to pay, and then take the receipt back out to show to the security guard. Ridiculous. Also, their wood is expensive and has termites (I squished several there while getting my wood).

Great plants. Great plant vessels. Staff friendly and helpful. Greenhouse area has a lot to offer plus full hardware store.

Anawalt is consistently substandard. Most of the time you can't find what you need, and the staff are not friendly and act like they hate their job.

A friend went to Anawalt to buy me organic mulch as a favor. I was on the phone with him and the salesperson and specified organic mulch, safe for raised bed gardening. Instead they sold him mulch for general gardening, not organic, and told him was organic. He didn't know enough about organic products to know that they are labeled as such. Now I have to carry these bags back and return them.

A total waste of time and effort. All they had to do was tell the truth, "We don't have organic mulch." Do not trust this garden department. They do not know what they are doing.or possibly do know what they are doing and just don't care in order to make a sale.

Today my wife and I were shopping at Anawalt Lumber in Hollywood, CA and we noticed how different it felt from years past. The vibe has changed, it is brighter and cleaner. the shelves were stocked more efficiently. The sales staff were friendly. The assistant manager was on the floor, we asked her name, it is Samira. She was very helpful to us as we tried to get all of the necessary items to replace our kitchen floor.

This was a very stressful home modification project and she worked very hard to make it as easy as possible. What a pleasant change from some of the larger stores. We now feel part of the Anawalt family. Dr. George and Ellen S.

Centrally located for all your needs great display of succulents and the only place in town that carries orchid bark proper orchid bark all different sizes. My favorite hardware store by far.

What a great place to go and get all of your hardware supply, lumber and building materials you need. You should check out their garden shop It's amazing. They have everything I need to renovate my garden and more! Customer service is amazing and they practice safe covid-19 practices. They will take care of you!

Came in today and Steve and Tito were so great! Bought a replacement wheel for my dolly and asked for extra help to do the swap there at the store. Both jumped in and got the stubborn wheel off and did the replacement. Great service.

Convenient location for most Westwood residents. Not crazy about the parking as stalls are cramped. Store itself is well stocked and maintained. They also have a terrific indoor/outdoor nursery.

Never have I ever met more helpful individuals in an establishment. I went in several times within a week to have some VERY specific pieces of wood cut and these guys and gals were so nice and helpful. Everyone from the lumber department, to my man Jeff in the nursery, to the security guy who is just the sweetest, the ladies at check out. EVERYONE! Just the best people. I don't think I will ever step foot in a Home Depot or Lowe's again. Thanks y'all. Can't wait to come back to visit

Drank and expire juice, purchase on October 22,2020. If I get sick I have proof. Make sure to check expiration dates on food items.

I love Anawalt. The service is far better than at Home Depot. Just as importantly, Anawalt carries products that Home Depot doesn't. The nursery carries better quality plant material and plant varieties that Home Depot never has. Anawalt may be a tad more expensive, but it's definitely worth checking out.

My boyfriend loves this place so he insisted on it when we went looking for a new indoor plant. Pros. Decent selection of plants, less inventory for indoor plants tho. Kind gentleman who helped us from start to finish and made sure we had the right soil for the plant we picked out. Parking was simple in their private lot. Cons: annoying man who checked us out inside, wasn't a fan.

The prices are a little high, but you won't break the bank. Overall, I'd go back because it's nearby but I'm definitely open to trying other nurseries out.

FYI:This review is only for the nursery, happened to stop by while I was on my way to another nursery. but with the epidemic going on the original nursery I was heading to Had a huge ass line. I wasn't willing to wait for, so I happened to see this spot. Glad I stopped they had quite a bigger selection than expected and enough pots of my Liking. Obviously not as big as a nursery but big enough. I am not from the area but if I do you come back this way I will definitely stop by.

If you are professional contractor and have nothing but time on your hands go wander the halls of home hellhole (also wait in their COVID line).if you can find a parking spot. If you don't mind spending an extra $0.01 on a wing nut, Anawalt is great. Parking is always available. Get in. Get out. Someone is always available to help and the people there are really nice. Their product selection is also pretty exhaustive.

Wow! I've driven by this place probably thousands of times during my commute, but really thought it was only for lumber. one day my handyman mentioned how he was going to run around the corner to there to pick up some other hardware items and I was like "what.?" So imagine my complete and utter shock to discover, in Hollywood, a non preppy alternative to the crappy Home Depot that I've been subjecting myself to four decades!

I walked in and no fewer than three different sales people asked if I need help: not the "hey black guy please don't steal our crap so how can we help you so we can keep an eye on you" help, but walk me over to where the item was I was looking for and ask me some questions to make sure I was buying the right thing. And it's been under my nose this entire time which is very depressing to think about, but I plan to certainly come here more often and would highly recommend it to anyone who is hardware shopping and doesn't want to deal with the lines, the crowd of day workers outside, the complete lack of anything close to customer service, and poor inventory management of its larger more monolithic competition a few miles further east. You're welcome!

I've been meaning to start a small garden for a while now, and after my boyfriend gifted me with a raised bed, it was time to go get the greens I would plant. I'm starting from zero, so all help I can get is much appreciated, but I didn't know I would come across with such helpful and knowledgeable person as Sandy. I can't thank him enough for all the advice, care and patient when I went to the store this Saturday. I'm feeling encouraged that I'm doing a good job, and I'm definitely going back there to chat with Sandy when I feel like I can take a new challenge on my garden.
