I've been doing business with Shade & Shutter for over 25 years now and the staff there is always a pleasure to deal with. They provide professional installations and always takes pride in their work. Their team is never satisfied until they are certain that his customer is as well. Tried to obtain a quote to install security screens over the summer. Went through the process of providing them with all of the window measurements/details and up to that point they were very responsive and helpful. However, every time I called after that I was told that Mike/Paul weren't available and that someone would call me back. After several calls and emails were made no response was received to obtain the formal quote.

We are so happy to give a 5 star review to Shade and Shutter Systems Inc. Owning a coastal home facing north presents special challenges with Cape storms. We selected the electric controlled roll shutter product. From our initial contact with Steve through frequent contact with the project foreman and wonderful installers, the project couldn't have gone better.
The local showroom displays all the products to view, and the custom installation looks great. The shutters also seem to be excellent quality. Before the order was sent to the factory, the installers came out to review it to make sure of any special challenges or material that would be required. After installation, which they worked around our schedules, they were careful to explain proper use and maintenance as well.
It is obvious that this company takes great pride in their business, and realize that customer service and recommendations mean everything. We are very pleased, and look forward to the shutter protection during storm season.

As a new coastal home-owner, we contacted Shade & Shutter Systems to learn more about what products were available to protect our home. Our call was returned immediately and Paul Craig, owner of the company, provided exceptional detail about the various products and their benefits / drawbacks. We scheduled a site visit; Paul showed up right on time with samples and guided us through the various applications.
We selected the VueSafe product. Paul indicated a 2-week lead time. but as Hurricane Sandy approached Paul contacted us on Saturday morning to let us know they had accelerated production and an installer would be on-site that day. The installer, Ed, was prompt, courteous and diligent throughout the installation process. We couldn't be happier. The product is up and already we feel more secure. Many thanks to the entire Shade & Shutter System's team for exceptional customer service and rapid response during an emergency situation.

2011 and 2012 were challenging years. Two powerful hurricanes, 2 wicked nor'easters and summers of record hot, blazing sun were cruel tests by Mother Nature on our roller shutters installed by Shade and Shutter Systems in CT. WOW! As our neighbors houses were flooded and hammered by the storms, we did not get a SINGLE drop of water in our house. ZERO.
We are on direct waterfront with the mighty Long Island Sound feet away from our doors. The 85 mph winds pounded our windows and doors to no avail, as the roller shutters did their job. No wind, rain nor sea water penetrated our home with each fierce storm. After the storms of 2011, we smartly decided to add additional roller shutters to the remaining uncovered windows and doors of the house. Going to Home Depot for plywood to cover them was not an option.
Who has the strength to do that? Good thing we added full coverage to the house because in 2012, my husband was on a business trip for both storms and unable to help me. All I had to do was flip a switch and BINGO! our home was immediately a fortress. Mark Legenos installed all our roller shutters. We have owned multiple homes throughout the USA. I would rank our experience with Mark as one of our very best.
He is acutely skilled, prompt and a problem solver. He can think of creative ways to accomplish a certain goal. Knowing the cost my neighbors have of repairing damaged property from the onslaught of storms, the price of the roller shutters we installed was a bargain. An added bonus is protection from the relentless sun in the summer. The ability to adjust the shutters to the precise height needed to shade the house proved to save us money on paint jobs for the windows and offered us comfort and less money spent on A/C. Shade and Shutter Systems CT Inc is a most impressive company. We recommend them with the highest regard.
