Several years ago we chose Above Treeline Construction Company to build our vacation house and it was the best decision we could have made. Steve Copp helped us--from determining the best orientation for our house on our lot to building a structurally sound house that incorporated all our requests. Dennis Johnstone has always been available to answer our questions or help us find the right people for our house projects. We would highly recommend Above Treeline Construction Company. Steve Copp has been super helpful and friendly in working with us. The staff there is easy to get along with and have been very prompt with getting back to us and answering our questions. We have seen several completed projects and are impressed with the craftsmanship. They have shown to be very diverse in there ability to work with small or large designs.
With a completed house we are very happy with the final product. We did have one minor problem that we contacted them and they address very promptly! It's nice to see that even the follow-up work was important to them. Highly recommend these guys!

Above Treeline Construction was a good, local company to work with building our home. While they have many of the same challenges you will find with most contractors, I like that many of the tradesmen working on our home were their employees. We watched the budget and work completion closely throughout the build and caught several mistakes but they were quickly addressed. Overall, our build was within budget with the exception of the items we decided to put more money into.
We are still within our one-year from occupancy and they have been responsive and quick to address several issues that surfaced without any out-of-pocket expense. I found both their management staff and workers a pleasure to work with and wanting to deliver a quality product we are happy with. I have no issue recommending their services to anyone looking at them.

Unprofessional, unorganized, subpar craftsmanship, subpar materials. We pointed out on more than one occasion of being charged twice for certain items which they corrected but you have to stay on your toes. The order had many mistakes that had to be corrected later with some extra out of pocket cost to us. Aside from the many problems with the general contractor, there was a long punch list of repairs the builder had to address that mirrored the general contractors quality of work or lack thereof. Sewer vent pipe wasn't vented out so the house filled with deadly sewer gases, the heater had to be replaced, countertops replaced, section of siding replaced, outlets installed where they were missing, cabinet reset and they damaged the microwave in the process that had to be replaced, back door replaced, decking boards replaced, per the design a floor vent had to be installed to the crawlspace which we now smell musty odors inside the home which we also had to repair out of pocket, closets were not finished out.
We never requested the closet to be completely unfinished, we just didn't want the cheap doors or shelving. The washer and dryer closet wasn't built to specs so the doors couldn't be installed without additional modifications so the washer and dryer could fit, etc.etc.etc. Not one thing was completed on the agreed time or in a timely manner or of good quality.
It was like pulling teeth to get ANYTHING done at all and the results were subpar. Horrible experience from beginning to end. Just days past the one year warranty expired, we discovered that we have roof leaks that they will not honor the repairs despite not reaching the one full year of receiving the official Certificate of Occupancy. Above Treeline had a professional roofer caulk around the cheap plastic "state approved" vents as a temporary fix, but the roof repairs will still cost us an additional $2000 out of pocket for materials that can withstand the elements of Colorado for more than a year. Cracks are to be expected after delivery of a modular home.
We we told by Above Treeline the cracks would be repaired within a few weeks after the house was set and follow-up repairs would be done at the end of the year. After repeated attempts the Initial repairs ended up taking more than 10 months and there was NO end of year follow-up per the contract. Buyer Beware.

I was looking up ATC's number and noticed they only had one review. which wasn't good! So, thought I'd offer a different opinion. I bought an existing home in the area in 2012. Turned out that these guys had built the 'kit' log home originally. My first contact with them was due to my homeowners insurance and they wanted some 'replacement costs' estimates for some of the improvements.
There was no $ on the table for ATC but they sat down and worked up a written estimate that I could send to my insurance folks. No big deal, but professional and helpful. A year or so later I wanted a shop built and some maintenance done on outbuildings on the property. They are not the cheapest out there I'm sure but I've found over the years that going with cheap sometimes gets expensive.
They were professional- kept me in the loop on what was happening, worked with my concerns and completed the projects on a timely basis. Since then I've had occasion to ask for a resource or two. That was the reason I googled them today. They've always been responsive with a painters name, a cleaning lady or a heating/plumbing guy to go to that they recommend. And I've always been happy with those referrals. So for what it's worth. I do recommend these guys!
