Walters Buildings started as a pole barn builder for local farmers. One building and one relationship at a time we've grown to become the premier post frame builder in the Midwest. As with every good building, Walters Buildings started off as a dream. Ever since they got married, Jack Walters and his wife Alice dreamed of making a life for themselves. In 1945, after Jack returned from serving in World War II, he worked in a Milwaukee brewery to support Alice and their three children, Jim, Bill and Barbara.
Within 48 hours, the District Manager assigned to your vision will contact you to set up an appointment. Your District Manager will meet with you to present the proposal along with any preliminary drawings. When you are satisfied with the proposal, and you have selected all of your options and accessories, a signed copy along with the down payment will be picked up by your District Manager. Once the signed proposal is received, our team of highly-trained drafters and engineers will begin final design on your project.
Just as healthy skin is important because it protects us from infection, UV rays and other dangers, the steel of your pole building is crucial to its durability. Not only does great steel make the pole building look 'healthy, ' but if treated properly, it can protect from rust and damage from the elements.

We contacted Walters last Aug by email. Within 48 hours Scott had contacted us. He came out and went over our needs and within a week he had sent us a proposal. He modified it prior to building and was very responsive. The crew who built our building were very efficient and professional. They answered all my questions and made sure that windows and doors were placed where we wanted them.
The only concern I had was the materials were delivered over a month in advance of build date which due to weather was delayed. Our property is not occupied so theft was a slight concern of mine. Scott came out and covered the lumber to keep snow off it and thankfully nothing was taken. Overall, a very positive experience and our new building is great!

I initially contacted them in early August of 2021 and had to wait 3 weeks for a response because Bill Hamm was on vacation(Why wouldn't someone else be covering his region for that timeframe?). Anyways, Bill Hamm finally came out to look at the site for our outbuilding on Sept. 2, 2021. Since then there has been zero communication(must be on vacation again?).
I emailed him again on Oct. 11, 2021 and have gotten no response. If the communication is this bad in the infancy of planning our outbuilding I can't imagine what it would be like when we are under contract. No thanks. Don't waste your time with these guys.

The workflow is organized to be no faster and no slower than the current rate. If you plan on working here without experience, it'll be a few years before you gain some meaningful experience here. Lots of older folks who are the only ones who know how to operate machines and I dont know what's going to happen when they retire, as they don't like training people.
The management is all people who don't know how things work and only pretend, and don't listen to workers about how things ARE. I spent more time with a broom in hand for 3-4 months than actually being productive. There's no communication/ organization.

I dealt with Jarrod Duel, who was my sales person. Very professional and in tune to the business. Very impressed with Jarrod. Felt I received a fair price and service was excellent. Received a total of 5 bids from different vendors (Buildings) and selected Walter's. Walter's wasn't the least expensive nor the most expensive. Felt their quality was worth me spending a little more as one of the bids were just a little less. Scott & Travis were at my property the entire time and did an excellent job of constructing my 36 Ft x 30 Ft garage. Was extremely pleased. I would recommend Walter's Buildings and especially Jarrod Duel.
