I went to 3 places before stopping in to get help redoing my grandmother's bathroom. After taking a fall we were very concerned for her safety. Aaron spent several hours with me and then went out to my grandmother's home to meet with her. A couple of days later he had photos to show us what her bathroom would look like and came back out to grandma's to show her the images and review all the safety features he included. I appreciated him being willing to include her even when she could not get out to see him!
With over 2,000 electrical products stocked on our shelves, we know the importance of having what you need, when you need it. That's why E stands for Electrical in our name HEP. We have long standing relationships with our manufacturing vendors, including Eaton and Cooper, which gives us access to anything and everything in the electrical field.
Heating products are our specialty. After all, that's what the H in our name HEP stands for. We stock over 1,000 different heating related items-that's a big deal! That means we have carry furnaces and boilers from Century and Velocity/Crown Boiler, in a variety of sizes and styles, including uplow, downflow, and forced air furnaces, and condensing and non-condensing boilers. We also carry the Comfort Air line of whole house air conditioning systems, and mini-split systems, and the single-room window a/c unit.
Our showrooms say it all. Just stop by any of our stores and it's obvious that we're serious about giving you the latest and greatest choices for any bathroom project. We have a huge selection of vanities, tops, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, walk-in showers, glass shower doors, bath exhaust fans, vanity lighting, medicine cabinets, mirrors, and faucets, and if you need replacement parts, we have them, too. Our displays show you how these awesome products will look in your home and our designers can help you create the perfect place to put them.

I appreciated him being willing to include her even when she could not get out to see him! He took the time to truly understand her needs and designed a shower that is not only beautiful but accessible and safe. Grandma is thrilled with her new bathroom. He thought of EVERYTHING! The "small" details, he included in the design plan for her potential future needs as well.
I am relieved that she can use the bathroom independently and not be at risk of injuring herself. I will be back next year to have him help with my bathroom. He is friendly and professional and went above and beyond what anyone else I met was willing to do.

First time customer this morning, and I'll never go back, ever. I bought a new water softener and was looking for some plumbing accessories and I was told the softener I bought at Lowe's was garbage and I was an idiot for replacing the Anderson I had that wasn't working. I also needed some parts to fix a toilet and the associate told me what I was looking for didn't exist, even though I showed him it did on the Lowe's app.
The associate was condescending and rude, and since he's been a plumber "since he was 5," he knew everything. If I didn't have my brother-in-law with me, I would have walked out.

I try to shop locally and avoid the big chain stores, but I think I have reconsidered after dealing with Hep in Canandaigua. I was replacing the railing on my front porch and, indeed, they had what I was looking for. I was given a quote after giving them exact measurements. So I asked my contractor to go and pick up the materials needed - quote in hand -!.
He calls me to tell me that it would be $300 additional PLUS a 3% charge for using my credit card. WHAT? Contractor told me that the additional cost was for brackets - which I was specifically told were included in the original estimate. So we went from $580.- something to $888.85. I was forced to go ahead with it since now I have no railing and it is a dangerous situation. NOT HAPPY!

I was in there two weeks ago for a bathroom exhaust fan not one person ask if they could help me find what I was looking for, and asking them where find them no offer to help of any kind. Several items have been bought there over the past 20 years. But not any more. Ps my wife stopped in there today for roofing nails with no greeting or even can I help you find something. Not good business!

Have always been helpful. The transformer in my heating unit went and took the board out with it. They had the exact board and a better transformer in stock. 3 days later the burner would not turn on. Figured out that the limit switch was also bad, it did run for 2 days which had me scratching my head initially, they had 2 high temperature limit switches that would both have worked as replacements. If you have a few questions about your project this is the best place to go.

Really liked the idea of using a home town hardware store instead of going to the big box store. I've been in to browse and buy a few things and the staff always seemed knowledgeable and friendly. so I figured let's give them a try on my next big purchase, a Cambria countertop. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks and they would have to outsource the item (understandably). Well, it's been 5 weeks now and I keep getting excuses, the guy screwed up the measurements twice (even though I made him an exact template to work from).
They wanted an extra $100 to pick it up at the store, so I'll have to drive to Rochester to get it whenever they finally get the job done! Nice people, with no clue! Yes, the guy I got stuck with is new, but you'd think the other 10 people around could have helped him/ME out on this one. Probably will never go back. My suggestion: Don't keep bashing the big box stores if you can't do the job any better!

I have used North Main Lumber to supply me with materials for several of my large home projects from additions to siding, and I'm pleased with their service. Their prices are comparable to all of the larger building suppliers in the area. My materials were delivered in a timely manner, and stacked in an organized fashion.
