I rented a 4'x7' open top U-Haul trailer down the street, wheeled into Mt Scott for 1.5 yards of fine Hemlock. I think they gave me closer to 2 yards and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the mulch and the service, easy peasy. I'll definitely be back when I need more.

Good folks. Good prices. Great local source of landscaping material. From river rocks and paver sand, to burnable wood and bark dust or cedar chips. You can even purchase material by the bucket or bag if you're just patching a spot under your favorite plant or need to pack gravel for the hole in your driveway.

I stopped by today to get 1/2 cu yard of 3-way-soil. While the service was great, the measuring was completely off. I estimate that in best case scenario maybe they give me 9 cu ft. See the pic below of the dirt next to a 3 cu ft bag of peat moss. *** In response to the response: 1. I always appreciate businesses that try to make it right. 2. Regarding the peat-moss bag, I included in the picture as reference. HD says the bag is 1.5 cu ft. Side-by-side comparing it with the 3-way, that would be about 6 cu ft, or less that half of what I paid for. Maybe the person responsible for measuring needs some training?

The presto logs are not the same as last year. They are very hard to light and tend to go out. I bought a bunch of them last week and they have been inside since then. Still not burning very well. Unfortunately as time goes om none of the other suppliers have amy better logs. It is ufortunate but I think it would be cheaper and easier to use electic heat this year. Sometimes customers are hard to get back.

Really four and a half stars, but I'd rather Roundup for these guys. They have a really good selection of different kinds of woods so if you are heating with a fireplace this winter, definitely go there. Staff is friendly, and well prepared. If you forgot your gloves and need to load up the back of your car or truck with firewood, they have cheap pairs of work gloves and various other useful things to sell right there in the front office.

High quality bark mulch, with a wide variety of options. Mt Scott is the go-to place if you need mulch for your yard or garden. This is the second year we've used Mt Scott mulch on our parking strip and we're really happy with the results. We had no problems ordering a couple of yards earlier this spring, we were treated with respect, and the delivery was friendly and on time. We're not alone here since our first experience with Mt Scott mulch came two years ago courtesy of a neighbor, who had more mulch than they needed. They're regular Mt Scott customers. They'll get my order next spring.

First time we've used Mt Scott and we were very pleased with the quality of the bark much that they delivered (dark fir), the placement of the product delivery (exactly where we had asked it placed when we called in the order) and the friendly customer service. I dropped by the payment and the lady in the office was VERY friendly and thanked me more than once for dropping by with check.will definitely use again!

The only thing more insulting than the customer service at this establishment was the product we received. It was so poor we ended up having another delivery from an alternative source. The side by side was laughable. We spent double the time on our hands and knees picking fist sized rocks out of the "top soil" we ordered than installing it. We tried but we won't be back.

I really like the place but it seems like most of the bad reviews are around poor quality wood. That's too bad because its s simple business, supply customers with barks sand, rick, soil, wood. I think they should fix the wood issue and customers should know that if they are purchasing soil from a place like this, it probably isnt going to be organic filled with fabulous mychorhizae and all.
Its basic stuff and cheap. I've had good results but I blend it with good fertilizers and some quality soil. Overall this place is solid but yes, improvements could be made, like stop selling garbage wood.

I was hesitant to go with this place because of so many negative reviews, but it turned out to be a great experience. The woman in the office was helpful! The gentleman loading the barkdust into our truck was very sweet (he did the 1st and 3rd load)- John is his name. The gentleman that helped us with the 2nd load was also very nice! Thanks :)

Purchased a cord of wood and am extremely unhappy. The wood was very dirty. Full of mud and debris. We had four garbage cans full of debris to dispose of after stacking the wood. The wood is so wet that mildew is growing on the ceiling of our shed! And of course it's too wet to burn until next winter. They told us it was "seasoned ready to burn" for $400.00. Never again will we be purchasing anything from Mt Scott Fuel and neither should you.

Conveniently located in the adjacent neighborhood. I've always gotten good service and they have a huge selection of ground covers as well as soils. Even firewood. It is handy having an open bed truck to have a half or full yard, depending on the item's weight, to haul back home and unload. Otherwise, you'll have to rent a truck or borrow a friend's.
Talk to them about bagging-your-own, an option for those who can't get a truck. Also talk to them about home delivery but there is a pretty large minimum order. They also have rock, for landscaping and water features. Check 'em out.

Based on the negative reviews here, I hesitated to use Mt Scott Fuel for our soil delivery. But I'm really glad we gave them a try. My experience was excellent. The folks in the office were knowledgeable and helped us determine exactly what was needed for our project. The delivery was on time and the driver was happy to dump the dirt where we asked. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to counter some of the negative reviews. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
