This is a fairly old experience I had but I felt was worthy of giving Wrede &sons a good review. Several years ago when we were all forced to get on the TLRSD sewer system I made the choice to do the hook up myself. I went to Wrede and sons with my list of supply's I would need. I was sure everything I needed was 3- 1/2 inch but Wrede's was sure I would need 4 inch.
So they gave me everything I needed in BOTH sizes and told me just to bring back whatever size I didn't use. I told them I didn't really want to pay for double everything up front and Mr. Wrede himself said no problem he understood, just pay for the used materials when I brought back the un-used. God is my witness this is true and I was completely blown away.
I told him what a way to do business, I mean nobody does business that way anymore. A hand shake, Mr. Wrede told me well maybe more people should. I have been in a couple times for some small things over the past few years and I will never go anywhere else for my project needs.

I went to Wrede this morning with my husband to order 8 ton of landscape rock for $225. This is the cost in the flyer and includes delivery. I was then told I am the one road in Monticello they will not deliver to. Okay. Then can we just have it delivered in your dump truck. Oh sure. For $343. Excuse me. Why is this so much more? I'm buying the same amount and could've actually bought more. In addition I need excavation work done a retaining wall and probably more rock. Anyone know of someone who is not going to blatantly RIP me off.

I was told they would call me when the quarry started making pea gravel again. Over two weeks go by without a word, so I call them to inquire on the status. When I asked about my order, they said, "Oh, we can delivery it to you tomorrow." So, apparently, they had been making it. After I gave them my name I expected them to pull up my order, but instead had to take all of my information again, including amount of gravel and delivery address.
They had lost my order. If your one job is selling rocks, how could you possibly lose an order for it. I am disappointed to say the least. Update: Today I called to confirm my order that was to be delivered between 10 and 12pm. Once again, they could not find my order. Last week, they took my credit card info over the phone to pay for the upcoming delivery since delivery driver could not accept that payment type.
Once again, they could not find this information. I find this alarming, and very poor business practice. I cancelled my order with them and will not do any future business with them. When I gave the woman on the phone my feedback, she said thanks and hung up instead of allowing me to continue the conversation.
