The nut and bolt situation is a mess, getting help is nonexistent. The bins are unmarked, you basically have to guess the size. Customer service is BS, the guy won't even come from around the counter. Dude almost got a two piece from the rude remarks! Although they do have some things you can use, the organizational situation is horrendous.

Rudest place ever. If you are okay with being talked down on you or having smart remarks thrown at you in the rudest way then this is the place for you. I called and a guy with a heavy Asian accent answered with just a "hello" and I asked if this was the bolt place, he answered in the most smart way like if I should have known where i was calling.
I wanted re assure since he didn't answer with a business greeting. That was just the beginning, there was much more. I tried to be understanding but there is no reason someone should be that rude, especially if I am a paying customer. Long story short the guy hung up on me. Your money is not worth this raggedy customer service. Trust me.

Ha cal aero this place not honest. I purchase a tool. They told me it was a $200.00 dollar tool. Was only a $60.00 dollar tool new. I paid $125.00 used. Went back and told them. They didn't care. I didn't want to return the tool. All I ask for, be honest and fair we all need to make a living. The tool is worth about $15.00.

I'm amazed how this place has any decent reviews, it looks like an abandon building with junk scattered everywhere, the employees seem bothered by customers asking for help, seriously 80% of the time they overcharge me, or give me the wrong change back, I'm sure it's not an accident it happens too often, the dusty nuts, bolts, and other junk they sell aren't that cheap anyways, JR Tools by the 91 fwy is friendlier, and much better stuff, Cal Aero products look like they are left over junk from the 70's

Been going there for years, also prices been going up. Ladies and gentlemen do your homework what items are going for before you buy here. a lot of odd ball hardware, surplus, casters, and a small selection of aluminum and steel. FYI if your looking for polyurethane and black rubber casters or metal, go see M&K metals on Figueroa st and rosecrans bl, 25%-35% cheaper.

My grandfather would go to Cal-Aero, my dad would go to Cal-Aero and now I go to Cal-Aero. The prices are good and like the others have said, if there is a screw, fastener, hardware piece, chunk of raw metal, chain, rope, wire or tool you need or have been looking for, Cal-Aero probably has it. Buy screws in bulk by the pound. They have everything imaginable under that roof. The place is huge so plan to spend some time just wandering around in awe.

Lots of obscure items to be found here. This is a mix of Harbor Freight and a contractors hardware store. Because you can get most screws, bolts, nails and other connecting hardware by the pound here. Some stuff here you can find at swap neets. It's easy to get to off the 105 freeway if you're in the area. It's a guy store compared to a handbag and shoe store for women.

Cal-aero is kind of crazy. i can't imagine what the experience would be if you were actually looking for something specific. there is some method to the madness that is the aisles of random tools, metal parts of random machinery, barely labeled bins of bolts, screws, washers, some welding supplies, caster wheels and a variety of general cheap hardware store supplies. if you're an artist, this would be a good place to go for inspiration. you gotta wonder what the history of some of these things were, and then there are some semi-utilitarian things there for very cheap. there are usually a good number of people in here when i've gone, so these things must be fairly useful. you can get much of the metal "stuff" for $4/lb.

Need to buy a screw? Need to buy a million screws? Screws, nails, and every other tool you need and don't want to search for an employee in those big chain stores. The guys here know what they are talking about. When I wanted to open up my cellphone, there was a star shaped pattern on the screw, not a phillips or flat head, and in seconds they found a screwdriver that was perfect for what I needed. They have millions of supplies, and I'm not exaggerating.
