Coventry Lumber

An incredible place to buy lumber, exotic woods, kitchen or decking supplies from, but only if you are going in person. If you are ordering over the website, then good luck. The lumberyard itself is amazing. They have the largest inventory in town, especially for Trex's decking (that's what I needed for the last project I worked on) and you can get any color, configuration, and style that the company puts out. The staff is very knowledgeable as well. But they are still behind times, digitally, and the website frankly needs a complete overhaul.

Horrible to work with, billing is a circus act. Zero customer service. Incorrect windows, delayed construction, the list goes on.

Run! Run! Run! Ordered our deck railings in September of 2021 and they have twice tried to deliver the wrong product! We have spent nearly 10K on railings and we still don't have what we ordered (It's now April 2022)! The worst part is they claim they will get back to you and never do. I highly recommend NOT doing business here.

Due to a staff turnover, our kitchen renovation project became a game of hot potato. We got passed around to various people who never really solved the problem - we paid for crown molding that was improperly ordered and shipped twice. Nearly one year later, the problem persists, my emails are being ignored, and we paid for materials that we never wanted. I expected better.

Never again will I trust these guys! an absolute billing nightmare! Mistakes were made on their end but they never took responsibility, We gave them a set of plans and on my end nothing ever changed, But the bill keeps changing and charges keep being added. They say they take care of it and that's never did. Then they forced me to pay over $4000 for something that was ordered wrong by their employee!

These guys are horrible! I never write bad reviews but I feel I have reached out and nothing gets resolved, This has been the worst experience I have ever had building anything. Sorry guys but this needed to be said.

Went by last August to get some pricing on a new front porch for my house. I wanted to use Coventry lumber since the owner, Bill, was involved with some projects that I was working on for him (Little did I know I would never get paid). Anyway I left the salesmen with what I wanted and waited a week or so for an estimate, nothing, I messaged them on FaceBook and got a reply that I would be reached out to, and I was. Sent everything I was looking for to the new salesman and again, no pricing/availability or other options.

Anyway I ended up calling and trying to buy from these guys for a while and just gave up. They were not helpful at all, did not seem to care to make the sale or even make a customer happy. I contacted another lumber yard near by and they had everything to my house within a week. Good news is as time goes on I am happier knowing I did not put any extra money in the owners pocket.

Went in 2 weeks ago to buy a laundry set i wanted a speed queen after doing my own research i couldnt say enough about the help i got from dave in appliances he said that they were waiting on dryer shipment and they would deliver washer in 2 days but dryer would be a couple of weeks well they showed up with both on delivery day to my surprise and i was very happy now 2 weeks later i just wanted them to know that i love love love this speed queen set its so quiet doesnt make any vibrations and clothes smell extra clean if you need new laundry go see them they are one of the few dealers of this brand i will never shop at big box stores for eiip again glad we have this little jewel in our town thanks christine

Wow what a train wreck. I bought my kitchen cabinets here in 2014 and it was a great experience. The woman I worked with left. My boyfriend and I just went in there and walked out ten minutes later. The woman helping us actually told us she has no idea what she was doing and was new to the business. She was very stressed out and seemed to unravel before our eyes.

It went from bad to worse in the next 10 minutes and we left to go somewhere else. I should have known better. When I called she said "it's just a bath vanity. It's not rocket science. We have a stack of customers and are very busy".

I'm writing this review because 90 percent of people review buisnesses when there is something to complain about and all of the great things buisnesses do only ten percent acknowledge their satisfaction. I want to review Coventry Lumber in Coventry, RI. For many years my husband and I have purchased items from there and always have been totally satisfied with their sales team, products, follow up service and Everything else that encompasses our purchases.

We have purchased windows, doors, wood, decking materials, appliances such as washer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and many other items. The appliance section is run by people who have been in the buisness for years. They are extremely knowledgeable about what ever you are looking for. From purchase to installation things have always gone perfectly.

Our most recent purchase has been all of the materials to build a new deck attatched to our house. My husband is a do it your selfer and is very knowledgeable but needs a bit of good advise and someone to bounce things off of. Ryan, our salesman was the perfect one for the job when we went to purchase what we needed. He was knowledgeable about every different type of decking, railing, wood, and figured out just how much we needed from wood, nails, cement etc. that was required for the job.

We weren't rushed, we were confident about our purchase and the expert advise we were given. They delivered everything and if we had excess of anything they picked it up and gave us credit. The quality of the product is great, that includes all products we have purchased from Coventry lumber. I cant say enough about the 100 percent satisfaction we feel from doing buisness from a local buisness and a buisness owner who also has given back to his community for many years and continues to do so. I wish I could give negative stars. DO NOT have these people design anything even remotely custom for your kitchen (its WAY out of their league). They had to order an island cabinet (3) times because we kept receiving the wrong one- which delayed my home build and cost me a fortune in returning installer fees. Lora also ordered me the wrong built-in microwave and trim kit size for the cabinet she ordered.

It was sitting two inches off of my island and framed in black plastic- she had told me it would be flush with a stainless trim kit. We couldn't use it in the space but because the installer unboxed it, Coventry Lumber appliances wouldn't accept a return and we ended up losing $500 plus dollars due to their error. We had to use a custom microwave trim kit manufacturer to correct the issue.

She has absolutely NO CLUE what she's doing and they made no concessions or offers to correct her mistakes. We also had to pay someone to custom fit our wooden hood insert because she didn't realize we had ordered the wrong size insert for the larger hood size we switched to during the design phase. We had to pay an additional $400 dollars to get it customized to fit because we couldn't return it to the appliance store after it was unboxed.

All and all, she cost my husband and I over $1500 in correction-related costs and Coventry Lumber did absolutely nothing-- zero accountability. We will be sure to share this experience with everyone we know. Just horrible, zero care for people, truly disappointing.

A very close friend needed assistance in selecting materials to build a new deck for her home. Her contractor suggested that she go to Coventry Lumber to discuss materials and that we did. As we entered the building, it seemed that everyone was occupied with phone calls, another customer, figuring out pricing, etc, so it did take a little time for someone to notice we were there and wait on us, unfortunately. Finally, a very helpful person, Rick, arrived and immediately asked us for all of the details and began to make numerous phone calls to check with specific companies determining if particular products were available in colors and styles.

This gentleman was extremely patient particularly when my friend was unsure as to colors and style. He also indicated that he wold work in tandem with the contractor so that there would be consistent coordination.

Literally wasted 30 minutes of my life. Visited the lumber yard on Saturday. Walked around for 30 Minutes before anyone even asked me if I needed help. I was planning on buying a new patio door with install. ($2000) and when the clerk finally acknowledge me I mentioned what I needed help with a door and he exclaims "oh I can't help you with that". What the actually F. I will never shop here again. Off to the big box store because the local mom and pop store sucks. Good luck.

Been dealing with this company since 5-6-20, for a front door. As of yet I still don't have a price or any answers to questions. Door has been selected but can't get a price. Nobody there has answered. Worst customer service ever.

Coventry Lumber is awesome. We have ordered many things for the farm from them including Lumber but metal roofing as well. They deliver and they are kind and pleasant and helpful. Right now during this pandemic it is difficult to get Lumber I guess because people are doing home improvement since they're home would be my guess. But Coventry Lumber has everything that we need.

Also what makes them different is hello Home Depot has Lumber it really is poor quality and we hate to buy it unless we absolutely need it in a hurry. I'm Coventry Lumber has very high quality Lumber so you can always count on getting something that looks good and is in good condition and not warped. We really like it there and if you want a nice quality lumber this is the place to go.

I've visited here at least a dozen times, both as a homeowner buying lumber and materials for my own small projects, and as an employee of a local plumbing company that has an account here, and have had no problems or complaints. Yes, their lumber costs more than the big box stores, but it's definitely better quality; besides, I like supporting a local business over a corporate giant.

Their service is also light years better than Home Depot or Lowe's; the inside sales people at the service counter are professional in their demeanor and knowledge. I like their system for purchasing lumber and building materials. You go inside the store first; tell someone at the service counter what you need; and pay for the material. Then, you drive your truck inside the lumber warehouse, where you can either load the lumber yourself, or have an employee load it for you. It's much better than struggling to navigate a cart full of lumber through a big box store.

The store itself has a decent selection of fasteners; a fair selection of tools; and only limited selections of specialty items such as electrical and plumbing. It's not trying to be a big box store, or a hardware store. But, as far as general building supplies, it's pretty much got everything covered. They recently started selling appliances also.

Prices may be higher but there quality is way above all the other stores. Therelumber is straight. Purchased 3 20' lam beams & 2 8x8 posts & clad w/barnboard.

I am a little behind in writing this review. Our kitchen was remodeled in March 2016, but as I was telling my husband this evening how pleased I am with the updates to our kitchen, it reminded me to write a review about Coventry Lumber. We met with Tina Diggle who was very helpful as we looked at sample after sample of cabinets. Tina was knowledgeable and extremely helpful during our decision process.

We went to numerous showrooms and did not have the same service that we received with Coventry Lumber. One showroom we visited wanted a nonrefundable charge to simply measure our walls and provide consultation on colors in certain lighting. No charge from Coventry Lumber. Thank you Tina and Coventry Lumber for a wonderful experience on such a major project. I will certainly pass along our experience to family and friends who are thinking of home improvements. T. My first experience with Coventry Lumber will NOT be my last! They were so accommodating and professional. They had my refrigerator in stock and I had it delivered the next day. They were so careful bringing my old appliance out and the new one in. I'm so pleased with their service!

That they are by far superior to Lowes and any 2 by fours plywood can't beat them great delivery

Hands down, there is NO better lumber yard for customer service. The folks at Coventry Lumber have been my primary supplier for just about a decade now and I guarantee you will not find a lumber yard more dedicated to superior service anywhere in RI or nearby MA. These folks walk the walk.

I can echo Ray's comments here. I called up with a small order and they treated me like a king. I had 6 10' 2x4 delivered for under $40. Now, if you have a truck maybe this is more than you would pay. But I do not. The gas of me driving to my friends, borrowing his truck, picking up and dropping off the lumber, driving his truck back, then driving home would be much more than the $10 delivery charge they gave me this week.

The boards were in excellent shape and had very minimal warp. Coventry Lumber was fair priced and efficient. They kept my project moving by being able to deliver in short order with quality lumber.

Remember the name.it has lumber in it. If you want lumber from 2x4 to a 1x10 to molding to plywood.then go here. They guarantee it.and they stick by it. If you aren't happy with one 2x4, they will come and get it and give you a new one. Try that at a Lowes or Home Depot. They use to deliver one 2x4 to your house for free. That is crazy! Unfortunately the crazy gas prices caught up with them.

But you still can get all you need delivered to your house, know that it is perfect, what you wanted, and when you want. They also have windows, siding, tools, and other things. I don't really care I go there for lumber.told you already that it is in their name! You can have it delivered or they even has a drive in lumber yard that they will place on your truck for you, nothing more manly then lumber on your truck! So go here for the lumber for your home improvement projects.
