We're replacing sinks in a couple of bathrooms in our 1936 downtown Detroit home. The challenge in one is (very nice) green floor to ceiling green tile, but the original toilet & large corner tub are a 'golden vanilla' color no one makes anymore. Typical 1930s Jack & Jill bath - fairly small/narrow & I wanted a pedestal or console style - NOT a vanity, which wouldn't fit the space or style, so a vanity top in granite/marble w/an undermount sink & console legs. I'd already been to this company's St Clair shores showroom, where the salesperson disinterestedly explained she couldn't help me, but to go to their 23 Mile Rd 'main showroom'. OK.
My wife & I went out there - 1 salesperson & 0 customers in the store, & she went in 1st (while I got some drawings from the car). Strange 'vibe' the moment I walked in - the 20-30-something male salesperson in full 'all-talk-no-listen' mode. I finally was able to explain what we were looking for (which my wife had already done, but she's just a woman.).
As I'd explain what we wanted, the sales guy would interrupt w/a reason why this or that wouldn't work. I tired of countering his arguments & wasn't surprised when we left & my wife told me he looked annoyed when she walked in & started with the 'Can't you see I'm busy (doing nothing) routine & attitude'. We went to Advance Plumbing in midtown (where we're purchasing faucets, etc) & explained what we're looking for, & our sales rep (Amber) essentially said 'So stone vanity-type top, undermount sink, console legs. OK, here's a countertop fabricator I've worked with, we can pick out the sink, legs & faucet.
Not a big or particularly unusual deal. Wow, a helpful, knowledgeable sales consultant who doesn't condescend or dismiss you with a flip 'what you want can't be done'. Jackasses like the guy at Detroit Tile & Stone drive customers away & if they have any sense, they'll never come back - how do these places stay in business? BTW, their sign said the stone showroom was on the ground floor, the tile upstairs.
As we left, my wife asked if I wanted to look at the tile (upstairs). I passed & we went to the Tile Shop, where we spent a few thousand $ on marble for another bathroom project. Oh - I initially contacted them via their website on 9-15 & got an automated ''We'll be right back with you'' response. Ten days later, I'm still waiting for them to ''get right back with me''. This company is a mess.

Did a new bathroom in basement and upstairs and decided to update the kitchen at same time. Went and picked out a new granite countertop for kitchen and a new under mount sink. They came out and measured and installed quickly and it looks wonderful. Very happy we went with them. They also did sink and sills in bathroom would highly recommend them.

Shout out to the people of Detroit Stone.between us and our son, we've had two full kitchen countertops put in, 4 sinks and a bathroom counter and sink. The guys in the showroom are all incredibly knowledgeable. No hesitation on any questions, just perfect answers and solutions. Their prices are the best around too! (I went to 10 places before choosing Detroit stone!) Every time we had something done, the install people were so prompt and friendly and left the space as clean as it was when they got here! I will never use anyone else for this service. Thank you! Amy Gitre Clay, Mi

Used them to re-install my under counter sink when it dropped. Originally was installed with just caulk and shims covered in glue stuck to the bottom side of the counter. Detroit Stone & Tile, used the caulk and used glue, but also had braces screwed directly into the side walls to better secure the sink and not just rely on the glue to hold up the entire sink. Price was $100 cheaper than another company I called and they fit us in the day after I called.

We used Detroit Stone & Tile for a basement remodel. There had to be a seam in our large quartz counter because of the limitations of our home. I am very impressed with their work! You can barely see the seam! The process was very quick and all staff members were pleasant to work with. Very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

I recently had my new quartz countertop installed by Detroit Stone & Tile and the install was done to perfection. I am impressed! I worked with Nick and Remus in the showroom who are very knowledgeable but did not do an aggressive sales pitch with me, which I so appreciated. They were great to work with and showed me many options and then gave me the best price in the area. I would definitely recommend this business.

Extremely happy through the entire process with Detroit stone. We selected a granite slab from a separate wholesaler and Detroit Stone's pricing was far cheaper than three other fabricators we received quotes from. Once the selection and measurements were finalized, everything was completed within a week. The installers were very thorough, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend!

I shopped around a few places and Detroit Stone was the least expensive for the material I was looking for and with good reviews. Nick was helpful and quickly was able to give me a quote and answer any questions I had as well as explain the breakdown on the price (which other places some refused to do) They were able to install on Friday and measured Monday. Installation went well and took about 2 hours. I'm pleased with the result and would recommend to others.

We just had granite counter top installed in our kitchen and bathrooms. No complaints about kitchen installment. However, in both the bathrooms, they drilled a bigger hole size than the standard one. We had bought 2 bowl sinks from them as well and they should have known the hole size. When my certified plumber called and talked to them, they said it is the standard hole size, which is not true. I personally found, their customer support service extremely poor. Will never do business with them again and do not recommend anyone to do the business with them.

I dont usually write reviews, but because of the amazing job Detroit Stone did to install our beautiful Ceasarstone countertops, I feel especially compelled to share it with the online world. Andrei was amazing, very nice, great to work with. Really, the whole team was great. Down to every detail, like in our laundry room, the installer noticed, without our pointing it out, that our tall cabinet door wouldnt open fully because of the laundry tub counter overhang next to the tall cabinet.
They removed the counter without hesitation, rounded the corner of the countertop, made sure it still had the same shine as the rest of the top, and the door opened fully. One smaller but important example, on one occasion, I called the office but didn't leave a voicemail message. Someone called me back a few minutes later, because they saw my number on caller id! Thats customer service.
All businesses should operate that way, but in my experience, they don't. We had a great experience with Detroit Stone, and highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you Detroit Stone!

We worked with Detroit stone a few months ago, when they came out to measure my kitchen, the guy was there on time, he was very helpful and friendly. I had to call a couple times to change a few things and they were very accommodating. When they installed the counter they did a really nice job and cleaned up after, and I couldn't ask for a nicer guy. People we know recommended this company to us and I'm not sorry we chose to do business with Detroit stone I have recommended them to other people.
